• Facebook fan page photo's scraping

  Hi, We want to add a facebook fan page photo competition to our fan page. The meaning is that ppl can upload photo's and others can like them. The person with the most likes on his photo wins a price. Now i was wondering if anyone knows a good idea on how to get a snapshot of all the photo's on a given moment. So that when we want to stop the contest we get an overview of the number of likes of all the persons. Some good website scraping tools? maybe a usefull facebook app? some other alternatives? greets, Daan

• Looking for a 24 Hour project for multiple languages [closed]

  Right two friends and I came up with this idea of having a 24h programming competition. Where we are going to meet at one place and program away for 24hours long. Though we need a 'project'. Something that needs to be made within 24h. Doesn't have to be a real thing, just a nice learning 'thing'. The rules that we setup for ourselves is that the project can be programmed in any language of our own choice. What I know is that one guy is a PHP enthousiastic, we've got a C#/.NET person. And I am quite easy in languages and speak quite a few (PHP/C#.net/C++STL/Python/JavaScript/Java). Anything really language specific is out of the question. Is there anyone who happens to have a great idea for this?

• When to use RDLC over RDL reports?

  I have been studying SSRS 2005 / 2008 in the past weeks and have created some server side reports. For some application, a colleague suggested that I look into RDLC for that particular situation. I am now trying to get my head around the main difference between RDL and RDLC. Searching for this information yields fragmented information at best. I have learned that: RDLC reports do not store information about how to get data. RDLC reports can be executed directly by the ReportViewer control. But I still don't fully understand the relation between the RDLC file and the other related systems (the Reporting Server, the source database, the client). In order to get a good grasp on RDLC files, I would like to know how their use differs from RDL files and in what situation one would choose RDLC over RDL. Links to resources are also welcome. Update: A thread on the ASP.NET forums discusses this same issue. From it, I have gained some better understanding on the issue. A feature of RDLC is that it can be run completely client-side in the ReportViewer control. This removes the need for a Reporting Services instance, and even removes the need for any database connection whatsoever, but: It adds the requirement that the data that is needed in the report has to be provided manually. Whether this is an advantage or a disadvantage depends on the particular application. In my application, an instance of Reporting Services is available anyway and the required data for the reports can easily be pulled from a database. Is there any reason left for me to consider RDLC, or should I simply stick with RDL?

  I know it is possible to load a custom config file for CKFinder CKFinder.config.customConfig = baseUrl + '/js/ckfinder_config.js'; However, when I load CKFinder within the CKEditor I don't know how to load the custom config for CKFinder. I stubbed __builtin__.open to raise IOError when the open is called with said file name But how do I go from 278 to 333. Is this even possible? Additional information: - using coverage.py 3.4 (only listing 3.5, we can't currently upgrade to 3.5)

• How to load COM object in smart device project?

  I want to create a .NET CF application for Windows Mobile 5. In this application, I want to load a COM object based on the ProgID (or CLSID). How do I load this COM object in such a way that I can access its methods as if it were just another .NET object? In addition: how can I configure the projects / solutions in Visual Studio in such a way, that when I debug the application, I am sure that the COM object that is loaded is the one that is installed on the device, not one that may be accessible through the debugger? I have tried adding the .ocx file as a Reference, but I get an error, and I am not sure about 'question 2'. I have also tried loading the COM object using Type type = Type.GetTypeFromProgID("my.prog.id") MyObject myObject = (MyObject)Activator.CreateInstance(type) ...but this results in an InvalidCastException on the second line.

• Best way to keep a large number of hobby projects alive; open sourcing?

  Because my time is limited I can usually only focus on one or two of my hobby projects, while the others sit there wasting away. I am looking for a solution that would allow me to divide my time better. is open sourcing where I take the role of guiding the project realistic, or are there better solutions? In my case, one project has a reasonably sized community of users going for it but is currently closed source. There have been requests to open source it.

  this is my code: if DRelatiebeheer.ContactpersoonID.Post = Action then KJSMDBGrid1.RefreshData; KJPanel4.Visible := true; my question is how can i set the panel on visible when the post is succesfully ended. I dont know how to fix it, tried many ways but didn't find a solution for the problem. I think the code doesn't work, because i put it invisible on the OnGetCellParams event. • Swichable Graphics

  Im having a bit of a problem with my 2 graphic card in my laptop. laptop: Acer Aspire 5553g Graphic Cards: Performance: ATI Mobility Radeon HD 5650 Power saving: ATI Radeon HD 4200. On this laptop i have used ubuntu 11.04, then upgraded to 11.11, and now upgraded to 12.04 the other day. The problem is that sins i upgraded to 12.04 im unable to switch to my performance graphic card using the Catalyst Control Center. Under 11.04 and 11.11 it was no problem. I open the Catalyst Control Center and select the performance option then apply, it tels me that it will be applied after reboot, I reboot and nothing has changed. Im able to "force" it by changing in BIOS, so i know there is nothing wrong with the card. Thanks /Daan
