• How to share a volume between VM in ESX 4 ?

  I want to access a single volume from vmware ESX4 vms, in three ESX hosts with datastores in an Equallogic PS6000 SAN. I know how to manage the datas, but I cannot seems to find a way to do this. How can I share VMDK accross hosts ? (the relevant files are on the SAN) Is this even possible ? Is there a mean to do this with RDM ?

  We need to set up a SAN accessible from a bunch of computers, both virtualized and real. We have an iSCSI SAN and I need to ponder some of the options. What are the differences between GFS2 and OCFS2 ? Are they production-ready ? And how they compare to NFS ? (I can use it with that SAN)

• Can I use ext3 as a shared fs if I add a lock manager ?

  I need a cluster filesystem for an iSCSI device. The problem is that the servers to which it is connected generate datafiles which must be read by every other servers. Except for the writing and deleting of such files, I do not need a full locking scheme like in OCFS2 or GFS2. So, can I use a distributed lock manager (DLM) on top of an ext3 filesystem or must I use only specialized filesystem ?

• Enforce "spaces" or "tabs" only in python files ?

  In Python, is there a mean to enforce the use of spaces or tabs indentation with a per file basis ? Well, perhaps "enforce" is too strong, its more like "recommands". I keep getting files with mixed indentation and this is annoying... (to say the least) Python itself can tell when there is a problem, but I am searching something to do that at the editor level, like it exists for the charset.

  I am trying to use some AOP in my Python programming, but I do not have any experience of the various libs that exists. So my question is : What AOP support exists for Python, and what are the advantages of the differents libraries between them ? Edit : I've found some, but I don't know how they compare : Aspyct Lightweight AOP for Python Edit2 : In which context will I use this ? I have two applications, written in Python, which have typically methods which compute taxes and other money things. I'd like to be able to write a "skeleton" of a functionnality, and customize it at runtime, for example changing the way local taxes are applied (by country, or state, or city, etc.) without having to overload the full stack.
