• Is there any tweak to bring back emblems in Nautilus?

  I read the following dev email Removing 'Backgrounds and Emblems' and when i read this part: Note that this does not completely remove the ability for extensions (e.g. Dropbox) to add emblems programmatically by using the libnautilus-extension library, just the user-added emblems from the properties dialog/emblems sidebar. There is ability to bring emblems programmatically. So, How can i use libnautilus-extension library to add some emblems like Dropbox does? Or is there any tweak tool for this?

• Nautilus tags/labels/marks/emblems for directories

  Is there any way how to mark folders or files with tags(or labels or whatever) in Nautilus? It would be nice to sort marked folders or files through this tags. I am familiar with emblems but I cant sort through it and its complicated to assign emblem to folder(3 clicks at least). Especially my first idea was to mark folders in my Movie directory with tags seen, not seen, must see, and so on. Then I realized it would be useful in any other workspace with any custom tags... Is there any nautilus extension for this? Or any other file manager which can do this?

• How to change icon/emblem of a directory from bash

  I'm playing around with get_iplayer (fantastic) it's running every few hours to grab any new episodes of whatever.... After it has finished grabbing anything new i'd like to change the emblem of ~/Videos to add a plus or star (nautilus emblem preferably) Do i go about this via nautilus? Do i need to change something in gnome-config? I'm sure this can't be FS level? Cheers for any links and advice.

  Hello, I want to know how to add some sort of emblem or badge to a specific file. Just like drop box does to a specific file when it is doing a sync. I found that the guys from drop box are able to do that on linux by using libnautilus package. But I need to do so on windows and haven't been able to find an answer. Will the solution change from one windows version to other? best regards

  I noticed the other day that I cannot bind variables when using PDO with ALTER TABLE for example the following example will not work, $q = $dbc -> prepare("ALTER TABLE emblems ADD ? TINYINT(1) UNSIGNED NOT NULL DEFAULT '0', ADD ? DATETIME NOT NULL"); $q -> execute(array($emblemDB, $emblemDB . 'Date')); So is it necessary to use mysql_real_escape string and do it like below, // ESCAPE NAME FOR MYSQL INSERTION $emblemDB = mysql_real_escape_string($emblemDB); // INSERT EMBLEM DETAILS INTO DATABASE $q = $dbc -> prepare("ALTER TABLE emblems ADD " . $emblemDB . " TINYINT(1) UNSIGNED NOT NULL DEFAULT '0', ADD " . $emblemDB . "Date DATETIME NOT NULL"); $q -> execute(); Or do I not need to add in mysql_real_escape_string? • Soccer Game only with National Team names (country names) what about player names? [duplicate]

  This question already has an answer here: Legal issues around using real players names and team emblems in an open source game 2 answers Ok...this question hasn't been asked before, its very similar to some, but here's the difference: I am making a soccer/football simulator game, that only has national teams (with no official logos) just the country names and flags. Now, my doubt is the following...can I use real player names (that play or played on that national team?) From what I understand if I use a player name linked to a club like Barcelona FC (not a national team) I need the right from the club and the association that club is linked to, right? But If I am only linking the name just to a country...I might just need the permission of the actual player (that I am using his name) and not any other associations, correct? • Can't change folder background

  I tried to change via dragging from the Backgrounds and Emblems window, but the icon just goes back to that window rather than changing the folder background.However, I can change the task bar by this drag-n-drop. Probably it is something about changing ownership permission? if so how to change that? • Create Shortcuts for Your Favorite or Most Used Folders in Ubuntu

  Do you have certain folders that you access often each day but are only available through the Places Menu or Nautilus? See how easy it is to create shortcuts for your desktop and taskbar with our quick tutorial. To get started open Nautilus and locate the folders that you want to make new shortcuts for. For our example we chose Ubuntu One. Right click on the chosen folder and select Make Link. Your new shortcut will appear with the text Link to “Folder Name” and an Arrow Shortcut Marker attached. If you are happy with your new shortcut as is, then drag it to your desktop or taskbar as desired. We created the shortcut twice in our example…once for the desktop and once for the taskbar. For our example we decided to customize the taskbar shortcut a bit. To customize your shortcut right click on the shortcut and select Properties. Note: The desktop shortcut is limited on the amount you can customize it (name change and addition of up to four emblems to the folder). From here you can rename the shortcut and change the icon as desired. A quick name change and new icon made a huge improvement in how our taskbar shortcut looked. Note: The link for the icon we used is shown below. A little touch-up to our desktop shortcut and both are looking good.
