  • Helping install mrcwa and solve problems with f2py in Ubuntu 14.04 LTS

    - by user288160
I am sorry if this is the wrong section but I am starting to get desperate, please someone help me... I need to install the program mrcwa-20080820 (sourceforge.net/projects/mrcwa/) because a summer project that I am involved. I need to use it together with anaconda (store.continuum.io/cshop/anaconda/), I already installed Anaconda and apparently it is working. When I type: conda --version I got the expected answer. conda 3.5.2 If I tried to import numpy or scipy with python or simple type f2py there are no errors. So far so good. But when I tried to install this program sudo python setup.py install I got these errors: running install running build sh: 1: f2py: not found cp: cannot stat ‘mrcwaf.so’: No such file or directory running build_py running install_lib running install_egg_info Removing /usr/local/lib/python2.7/dist-packages/mrcwa-20080820.egg-info Writing /usr/local/lib/python2.7/dist-packages/mrcwa-20080820.egg-info Obs: I am trying to use intel fortran 64-bits and Ubuntu 14.04 LTS. So I was checking f2py and tried to execute the program hello world f2py -c -m hello hello.f from here: cens.ioc.ee/projects/f2py2e/index.html#usage and I had some problems too: running build running config_cc unifing config_cc, config, build_clib, build_ext, build commands --compiler options running config_fc unifing config_fc, config, build_clib, build_ext, build commands --fcompiler options running build_src build_src building extension "hello" sources f2py options: [] f2py:> /tmp/tmpf8P4Y3/src.linux-x86_64-2.7/hellomodule.c creating /tmp/tmpf8P4Y3/src.linux-x86_64-2.7 Reading fortran codes... • Dicas do C# 4 consumindo uma DLL da Daruma com o mestre Claudenir

    - by renatohaddad

I installed Ubuntu 12.10 on my desktop, and it boot up ok, but I was having some artifacts, so I read somewhere that I needed nvidia drivers, I downloaded them, along with compiz (I enjoy the nice effects), but after that, when I rebooted the computer, the resolution was all messes up, and now I can't access anything because there is no launcher! I inserted Ubuntu CD, booted from the CD, the resolution was fine and eerything was OK, so I repaired the installation, but after restarting the computer it was all messed up again! Please help me! I'm running Ubuntu 12.10 on a Core i7 and a GTX 460 + GTX 280! How Ubuntu looks as soon as I turn on my computer on:

  • Is the wireless driver from Live USB different from the standard install?

    - by Rafael Magalhães
Linux newbie here. I've been trying to use Ubuntu (x64) as my main OS since 11.10, but my wireless connection on it has been very unstable, droping every other 5-10 mins. For this reason I see myself forced to use Windows 7 (dual booting), where connection works flawlessly -- which really bothers me. My card is an Atheros 9k, which claims a reasonable amount of wireless complaints on Ubuntu forums. I've tried every suggestion given on past questions to this site but to no avail. However, while running Ubuntu Live USB for some of the tests, I noticed that my wireless connection never failed on it and wondered if its network configuration differs from the one on the default Ubuntu install. If this is the case, how could I reproduce the Live USB network environment on my hard drive install?

  • OpenGL doesn't draw (3.3+) [on hold]

    - by Dhiego Magalhães
Brief: I've been following this tutorial about OpenGL for 2 days, and I still can't have a triangle drawn, so I'm asking for help here. The tutorial is turned to OpenGL version 3.3 programing, using vertex arrays, buffers, etc. The libraries are: GLFW3 and GLEW, and I setted them by myself. The screen keeps black all the time. Full code: link here (It's just like a Hello World opengl program) Further Details: I get no errors at all. I downloaded a software to test my video card, and it supports OpenGL 4.1+ Standard OpenGL code for drawing (from earlier version) such as this one works normally. I'm using Microsoft Visual Studio 10.0 I presume all the OpenGL implementation was dune right: I added Additional Dependences to the linker as glew32.lib, opengl32.lib, glfw3.lib. The glew.dll was placed at SysWOW64 - because I'm running window 64bits, and glew is 32. Notes: I've been working hard to find out what this is, but I can't find. I would appreciate if anyone could test this code for me, so I can know if I implemented something wrong, and that its not my code.

  • How to install Juniper VPN on Ubuntu 14.04 LTS?

    - by Max Ricardo Mercurio Ribeiro
Could you please help me ? On my old Ubuntu 13.10 I was able to run Juniper VPN (on Firefox only) using a workaround which requires you to install the missing 32libs and IcedTea (32bits). However, I recently upgraded from Ubuntu 13.10 to 14.04 (both 64 bits) and my Juniper VPN does not work anymore because it fails during startup showing the following message: "Please ensure that necessary 32 bit libraries are installed. For more details, refer KB article KB25230" "Setup failed. Please install 32 bit Java and update alternatives links using update-alternatives command. For more details, refer KB article KB25230" For some odd reason, it seems the 14.04 upgrade do not work anymore with the openjdk-7:386 and consequently the Juniper VPN as well. Any ideas ? Thanks

  • Using XNA to learn to build a game, but wanna move on [closed]

    - by Daniel Ribeiro
I've been building a 2D isometric game (with learning purposes) in C# using XNA. I found it's really easy to manage sprite sheets loading, collision, basic physics and such with the XNA api. The thing is, I want to move on. My real goal is to learn C++ and develop a game using that language. What engine/library would you guys recommend for me to keep going on that same 2D isometric game direction using pretty much sprite sheets for the graphical part of the game?

  • Can't detect collision properly using Rectangle.Intersects()

    - by Daniel Ribeiro
I'm using a single sprite sheet image as the main texture for my breakout game. The image is this: My code is a little confusing, since I'm creating two elements from the same Texture using a Point, to represent the element size and its position on the sheet, a Vector, to represent its position on the viewport and a Rectangle that represents the element itself. Texture2D sheet; Point paddleSize = new Point(112, 24); Point paddleSheetPosition = new Point(0, 240); Vector2 paddleViewportPosition; Rectangle paddleRectangle; Point ballSize = new Point(24, 24); Point ballSheetPosition = new Point(160, 240); Vector2 ballViewportPosition; Rectangle ballRectangle; Vector2 ballVelocity; My initialization is a little confusing as well, but it works as expected: paddleViewportPosition = new Vector2((GraphicsDevice.Viewport.Bounds.Width - paddleSize.X) / 2, GraphicsDevice.Viewport.Bounds.Height - (paddleSize.Y * 2)); paddleRectangle = new Rectangle(paddleSheetPosition.X, paddleSheetPosition.Y, paddleSize.X, paddleSize.Y); Random random = new Random(); ballViewportPosition = new Vector2(random.Next(GraphicsDevice.Viewport.Bounds.Width), random.Next(GraphicsDevice.Viewport.Bounds.Top, GraphicsDevice.Viewport.Bounds.Height / 2)); ballRectangle = new Rectangle(ballSheetPosition.X, ballSheetPosition.Y, ballSize.X, ballSize.Y); ballVelocity = new Vector2(3f, 3f); The problem is I can't detect the collision properly, using this code: if(ballRectangle.Intersects(paddleRectangle)) { ballVelocity.Y = -ballVelocity.Y; } What am I doing wrong?

  • Get collision details from Rectangle.Intersects()

    - by Daniel Ribeiro
I have a Breakout game in which, at some point, I detect the collision between the ball and the paddle with something like this: // Ball class rectangle.Intersects(paddle.Rectangle); Is there any way I can get the exact coordinates of the collision, or any details about it, with the current XNA API? I thought of doing some basic calculations, such as comparing the exact coordinates of each object on the moment of the collision. It would look something like this: // Ball class if((rectangle.X - paddle.Rectangle.X) < (paddle.Rectangle.Width / 2)) // Collision happened on the left side else // Collision happened on the right side But I'm not sure this is the correct way to do it. Do you guys have any tips on maybe an engine I might have to use to achieve that? Or even good coding practices using this method?

  • How can I make this Route (ASP.Net MVC2) ?

    - by Felipe
Hi All, I'm begginer in asp.net mvc and I have some doutbs about routes. Im' developing a system to manage documents and I need make an URL like this: routes.MapRoute("Documentos", "{controller}/{documentType}/{documento}/{action}/{id}", new { controller = "Home", documentType = "", documento = "", action = "Index", id = UrlParameter.Optional }); and the app working an URL like theses: "Document/Administrative/Contract" - (Index action by default to list documents of type 'Contract') "Document/Administrative/Contract/New" - (new action in controller) "Document/Administrative/Contract/10" - (detail action in controller) "Document/Administrative/Contract/Edit/10" - (edit action in controller) Document would be a Controller, and Administrative would be just a description in url to identify that documents of 'Contract' is Administrative... So, My doubts is about my controllers and actions, How should be the signature of the methods of controller ? Need I make an Area called Documents to do this more easy ? PS: Sorry for my english! Thanks a lot, Cheers! Felipe

  • extract payload from tcpflow output

    - by Felipe Alvarez
Tcpflow outputs a bunch of files, many of which are HTTP responses from a web server. Inside, they contain HTTP headers, including Content-type: , and other important ones. I'm trying to write a script that can extract just the payload data (i.e. image/jpeg; text/html; et al.) and save it to a file [optional: with an appropriate name and file extension]. The EOL chars are \r\n (CRLF) and so this makes it difficult to use in GNU distros (in my experiences). I've been trying something along the lines of: sed /HTTP/,/^$/d To delete all text from the the beginning of HTTP (incl) to the end of \r\n\r\n (incl) but I have found no luck. I'm looking for help from anyone with good experience in sed and/or awk. I have zero experience with Perl, please I'd prefer to use common GNU command line utilities for this Find a sample tcpflow output file here. Thanks, Felipe

  • Tips on creating a "build a bracelet" app

    - by Felipe Caldas
I have an idea for an app/game which is basically a build your own bracelet. I will give to the user, say, 5 different types of beads, and the user and drag those beads into a line that is previously drawn in the screen and create his/her bracelet. I am now thinking on the best way to approach this. Would be using the android's OpenGL libraries (and therefore, creating the beads and loading its textures) the best and easiest way? Ultimately, I would like to push new beads into the application whenever I have a new bead texture. Thanks, Felipe

  • Connection timeout when accessing Github

    - by Felipe Micaroni Lalli
I have exactly the same problem as described here: http://stackoverflow.com/questions/12849986/connection-timeout-when-accessing-github So I'll just copy & paste: I have some weird problems. When I try to log in my Github account, I get a "net::ERR_EMPTY_RESPONSE" error. I tried with Chrome, Firefox and Opera. In Firefox, if a clean the cache and offline data, it works for a while. Then I can log in, but I still can't create a Github repository, even if I clear the cache again. My friend, in the same network, with Windows, can do whatever he wants on Github's web site, but I can't. I tried many DNS servers, I tried not to set it (my friend doesn't), but it's still not working. My OS: Ubuntu x64 12.04 Ideas, please. And thanks. Also, I can clone any repo but I can't push. I had to change to https://codeplane.com/ due to this problem, but I want to understand why it happens. EDIT: I could clone one repo, but the other one just hangs at this point: felipelalli@felipelalli-Studio-XPS-8100:~/wa$ git clone [email protected]:felipelalli/micaroni.git Cloning into 'micaroni'... remote: Counting objects: 5238, done. remote: Compressing objects: 100% (3257/3257), done. • Funny statements, quotes, phrases, errors found on technical Books [closed]

I found some funny or redundant statements on technical books I've read, I'd like to share. And I mean good, serious, technical books. Ok so starting it all: The .NET framework doesn't support teleportation From MCTS 70-536 Training kit book - .NET Framework 2.0 Application Development Foundation Teleportation in science fiction is a good example of serialization (though teleportation is not currently supported byt the .NET Framework). • How to move an UIView along a curved CGPath according to user dragging the view

    - by Felipe Cypriano
I'm trying to build a interface that the user can move his finger around the screen an a list of images moves along a path. The idea is that the images center nevers leaves de path. Most of the things I found was about how to animate using CGPath and not about actually using the path as the track to a user movement. I need to objects to be tracked on the path even if the user isn't moving his fingers over the path. For example (image bellow), if the object is at the beginning of the path and the user touches anywhere on the screen and moves his fingers from left to right I need that the object moves from left to right but following the path, that is, going up as it goes to the right towards the path's end. This is the path I've draw, imagine that I'll have a view (any image) that the user can touch and drag it along the path, there's no need to move the finger exactly over the path. If the user move from left to right the image should move from left to right but going up if need following the path. This is how I'm creating the path: CGPoint endPointUp = CGPointMake(315, 124); CGPoint endPointDown = CGPointMake(0, 403); CGPoint controlPoint1 = CGPointMake(133, 187); CGPoint controlPoint2 = CGPointMake(174, 318); CGMutablePathRef path = CGPathCreateMutable(); CGPathMoveToPoint(path, NULL, endPointUp.x, endPointUp.y); CGPathAddCurveToPoint(path, NULL, controlPoint1.x, controlPoint1.y, controlPoint2.x, controlPoint2.y, endPointDown.x, endPointDown.y); Any idead how can I achieve this?

  • 2D SAT How to find collision center or point or area?

    - by Felipe Cypriano
I've just implemented collision detection using SAT and this article as reference to my implementation. The detection is working as expected but I need to know where both rectangles are colliding. I need to find the center of the intersection, the black point on the image above. I've found some articles about this but they all involve avoiding the overlap or some kind of velocity, I don't need this. I just need to put a image on top of it. Like two cars crashed so I put an image on top of the collision. Any ideas? ## Update The information I've about the rectangles are the four points that represents them, the upper right, upper left, lower right and lower left coordinates. I'm trying to find an algorithm that can give me the intersection of these points.

  • Xcode Video From UITableView [migrated]

    - by Luis Felipe Beltran

Right now When a cell is tabbed it takes the user to another View (simple view controller) that has a label and a UIImageview that displays a picture. My problem is that I also want to show video. Some of these words need to show pictures, and others need to show video. I have shown video before but I have done it using a button. I need help! I would appreciate if you guys could help here. Again, Im trying to show a video from a UITableView after the user tabs a cell. (I have many videos not just one, so dynamically would be better if possible)

  • When should I use static variables with primitive types?

    - by Felipe Cypriano
Recently I came across the question NSString: Why use static over literal? and in the comments arrived a new question. In Objective-C there some "special" types that are just maps to C primitives. Like the NSInteger. #if __LP64__ || (TARGET_OS_EMBEDDED && !TARGET_OS_IPHONE) || TARGET_OS_WIN32 || NS_BUILD_32_LIKE_64 typedef long NSInteger; #else typedef int NSInteger; #endif I know how to use the static keywords for objects but I don't understand the implications on C primitive types. When should I use a static NSInteger x instead of NSInteger x? What happens with the memory in both cases?

  • '6' key stuck when outside the graphical interface

A strange thing has been happening since I installed Ubuntu. Whenever I'm not on the graphical interface, that is, if I do ctrl+alt+f2, or while the system is shutting down, or when I try to reset my password accessing root on security mode, the '6' key seems to be stuck. This doesn't affect my day-to-day usage at all, but whenever I change from the graphical console, I can't do anything because it keeps pressing '666666...'. Does anyone know why that might be happening? My keyboard is a Logitech G710+, and hasn't shown any other possible compatibility issues.

  • Web designer help needed [closed]

    - by Felipe Caiado
I have a ongoing problem, not knowing where to start to learn how to program websites, and which languages I should learn first, I have already taken a good look on the web, and I havn't found a clear awnser yet. Help would be much apreciated, in the cents of finding some good languages to start to program; and a good learning source such as a book or a website that covers from the basiscs to the most advanced of those languages.

  • Spring security request matcher is not working with regex

    - by Felipe Cardoso Martins
Using Spring MVC + Security I have a business requirement that the users from SEC (Security team) has full access to the application and FRAUD (Anti-fraud team) has only access to the pages that URL not contains the words "block" or "update" with case insensitive. Bellow, all spring dependencies: $ mvn dependency:tree | grep spring [INFO] +- org.springframework:spring-webmvc:jar:3.1.2.RELEASE:compile [INFO] | +- org.springframework:spring-asm:jar:3.1.2.RELEASE:compile [INFO] | +- org.springframework:spring-beans:jar:3.1.2.RELEASE:compile [INFO] | +- org.springframework:spring-context:jar:3.1.2.RELEASE:compile [INFO] | +- org.springframework:spring-context-support:jar:3.1.2.RELEASE:compile [INFO] | \- org.springframework:spring-expression:jar:3.1.2.RELEASE:compile [INFO] +- org.springframework:spring-core:jar:3.1.2.RELEASE:compile [INFO] +- org.springframework:spring-web:jar:3.1.2.RELEASE:compile [INFO] +- org.springframework.security:spring-security-core:jar:3.1.2.RELEASE:compile [INFO] | \- org.springframework:spring-aop:jar:3.0.7.RELEASE:compile [INFO] +- org.springframework.security:spring-security-web:jar:3.1.2.RELEASE:compile [INFO] | +- org.springframework:spring-jdbc:jar:3.0.7.RELEASE:compile [INFO] | \- org.springframework:spring-tx:jar:3.0.7.RELEASE:compile [INFO] +- org.springframework.security:spring-security-config:jar:3.1.2.RELEASE:compile [INFO] +- org.springframework.security:spring-security-acl:jar:3.1.2.RELEASE:compile Bellow, some examples of mapped URL path from spring log: Mapped URL path [/index] onto handler 'homeController' Mapped URL path [/index.*] onto handler 'homeController' Mapped URL path [/index/] onto handler 'homeController' Mapped URL path [/cellphone/block] onto handler 'cellphoneController' Mapped URL path [/cellphone/block.*] onto handler 'cellphoneController' Mapped URL path [/cellphone/block/] onto handler 'cellphoneController' Mapped URL path [/cellphone/confirmBlock] onto handler 'cellphoneController' Mapped URL path [/cellphone/confirmBlock.*] onto handler 'cellphoneController' Mapped URL path [/cellphone/confirmBlock/] onto handler 'cellphoneController' Mapped URL path [/user/update] onto handler 'userController' Mapped URL path [/user/update.*] onto handler 'userController' Mapped URL path [/user/update/] onto handler 'userController' Mapped URL path [/user/index] onto handler 'userController' Mapped URL path [/user/index.*] onto handler 'userController' Mapped URL path [/user/index/] onto handler 'userController' Mapped URL path [/search] onto handler 'searchController' Mapped URL path [/search.*] onto handler 'searchController' Mapped URL path [/search/] onto handler 'searchController' Mapped URL path [/doSearch] onto handler 'searchController' Mapped URL path [/doSearch.*] onto handler 'searchController' Mapped URL path [/doSearch/] onto handler 'searchController' Bellow, a test of the regular expressions used in spring-security.xml (I'm not a regex speciality, improvements are welcome =]): import java.util.Arrays; import java.util.List; public class RegexTest { public static void main(String[] args) { List<String> pathSamples = Arrays.asList( "/index", "/index.*", "/index/", "/cellphone/block", "/cellphone/block.*", "/cellphone/block/", "/cellphone/confirmBlock", "/cellphone/confirmBlock.*", "/cellphone/confirmBlock/", "/user/update", "/user/update.*", "/user/update/", "/user/index", "/user/index.*", "/user/index/", "/search", "/search.*", "/search/", "/doSearch", "/doSearch.*", "/doSearch/"); for (String pathSample : pathSamples) { System.out.println("Path sample: " + pathSample + " - SEC: " + pathSample.matches("^.*$") + " | FRAUD: " + pathSample.matches("^(?!.*(?i)(block|update)).*$")); } } } Bellow, the console result of Java class above: Path sample: /index - SEC: true | FRAUD: true Path sample: /index.* - SEC: true | FRAUD: true Path sample: /index/ - SEC: true | FRAUD: true Path sample: /cellphone/block - SEC: true | FRAUD: false Path sample: /cellphone/block.* - SEC: true | FRAUD: false Path sample: /cellphone/block/ - SEC: true | FRAUD: false Path sample: /cellphone/confirmBlock - SEC: true | FRAUD: false Path sample: /cellphone/confirmBlock.* - SEC: true | FRAUD: false Path sample: /cellphone/confirmBlock/ - SEC: true | FRAUD: false Path sample: /user/update - SEC: true | FRAUD: false Path sample: /user/update.* - SEC: true | FRAUD: false Path sample: /user/update/ - SEC: true | FRAUD: false Path sample: /user/index - SEC: true | FRAUD: true Path sample: /user/index.* - SEC: true | FRAUD: true Path sample: /user/index/ - SEC: true | FRAUD: true Path sample: /search - SEC: true | FRAUD: true Path sample: /search.* - SEC: true | FRAUD: true Path sample: /search/ - SEC: true | FRAUD: true Path sample: /doSearch - SEC: true | FRAUD: true Path sample: /doSearch.* - SEC: true | FRAUD: true Path sample: /doSearch/ - SEC: true | FRAUD: true Tests Scenario 1 Bellow, the important part of spring-security.xml: <security:http entry-point-ref="entryPoint" request-matcher="regex"> <security:intercept-url pattern="^.*$" access="ROLE_SEC" /> <security:intercept-url pattern="^(?!.*(?i)(block|update)).*$" access="ROLE_FRAUD" /> <security:access-denied-handler error-page="/access-denied.html" /> <security:form-login always-use-default-target="false" login-processing-url="/doLogin.html" authentication-failure-handler-ref="authFailHandler" authentication-success-handler-ref="authSuccessHandler" /> <security:logout logout-url="/logout.html" success-handler-ref="logoutSuccessHandler" /> </security:http> Behaviour: FRAUD group **can't" access any page SEC group works fine Scenario 2 NOTE that I only changed the order of intercept-url in spring-security.xml bellow: <security:http entry-point-ref="entryPoint" request-matcher="regex"> <security:intercept-url pattern="^(?!.*(?i)(block|update)).*$" access="ROLE_FRAUD" /> <security:intercept-url pattern="^.*$" access="ROLE_SEC" /> <security:access-denied-handler error-page="/access-denied.html" /> <security:form-login always-use-default-target="false" login-processing-url="/doLogin.html" authentication-failure-handler-ref="authFailHandler" authentication-success-handler-ref="authSuccessHandler" /> <security:logout logout-url="/logout.html" success-handler-ref="logoutSuccessHandler" /> </security:http> Behaviour: SEC group **can't" access any page FRAUD group works fine Conclusion I did something wrong or spring-security have a bug. The problem already was solved in a very bad way, but I need to fix it quickly. Anyone knows some tricks to debug better it without open the frameworks code? Cheers, Felipe

  • Denormalization database

    - by Pedro Magalhaes
I was taking a look at SSB (Star Schema Benchmark -http://www.percona.com/docs/wiki/_media/benchmark:ssb:starschemab.pdf) and then i was thinking if is possible to denormalize all tables from the SSB? So database size will increase a lot but potencially the performance will grow up. Is that right? Is It possible? Thanks and sorry for my poor english
