• What is the type/classification/term for an PC headset that does not go over the head or back of the

  How do I search in the leading auction site for the PC headset(earpiece + microphone) that does not have a band to go around or over your head - instead it is entirely like a cable, with the microphone attached in one of the wires leading from the ear piece? How is it called? I'm not talking about Bluetooth wireless headsets. I have one from Plantronics I got years ago, which they stopped making and I want another one, but don't know how to search. Simply searching for HeadSet or similar terms, brings mostly the newer ones which I don't want. Thank you.

• Check if files in a directory are still being written in Windows Batch File

  Hello. Here's my batch file to parse a directory, and zip files of certain type REM Begin ------------------------ tasklist /FI "IMAGENAME eq 7za.exe" /FO CSV > search.log FOR /F %%A IN (search.log) DO IF %%~zA EQU 0 GOTO end for /f "delims=" %%A in ('dir C:\Temp\*.ps /b') do ( "C:\Program Files\7-Zip\cmdline\7za.exe" a -tzip -mx9 "C:\temp\Zip\%%A.zip" "C:\temp\%%A" Move "C:\temp\%%A" "C:\Temp\Archive" ) :end del search.log REM pause exit REM End --------------------------- This code works just fine for 90% of my needs. It will be deployed as a scheduled task. However, the *.ps files are rather large (minimum of 1GB) in real time cases. So the code is supposed to check if the incoming file is completely written and is not locked by the application that is writing it. I saw another example elsewhere, that suggested the following approach :TestFile ren c:\file.txt c:\file.txt if errorlevel 0 goto docopy sleep 5 goto TestFile :docopy However this example is good for a fixed file. How can I use that many labels and GoTo's inside a for loop without causing an infinite loop? Or is this code safe to be used in the For Loop? Thank you for any help.

  This is related to my earlier question. ren "C:\Temp\%%A" "C:\Temp\%%A" if errorlevel 0 ( "C:\Program Files\7-Zip\cmdline\7za.exe" a -tzip -mx9 "C:\temp\Zip\%%A.zip" "C:\temp\%%A" Move "C:\temp\%%A" "C:\Temp\Archive" ) In the above, the IF evaluates to true always, even if REN command fails. The idea is to check if a file is not locked by any other application, if not then Archive it and move it elsewhere. How best to do this? Thank you.

• WPF/MVVM - should we create a different Class for each ViewModel ?

  I'm attempting the example from the excellent "How Do I" video for MVVM by Todd Miranda found in MSDN. I'm trying to adapt the example for my learning purpose. In the example, he has a ViewModel called EmployeeListViewModel. Now if I want to include Departments, should I create another ViewModel such as DepartmentListViewModel? The example has EmployeeRepository as the Data Source. In my case, I'm trying to use an Entity object as the datasource (Employees.edmx in Model folder and EmployeeRepository.cs in DataAccess folder). If I want to display the list of Departments, should I create a separate class called DepartmentRepository and put all department related method definitions there? What if I want to retrieve the employee name and their department's name together? Where should I place the methods for this? I'm very new to WPF and MVVM and please let me know if any of the above needs to be re-phrased. Thank you for all the help.
