  • How do I compare between ByteString and ByteSymbol in squeak?

    - by Guy
Hi, I want to execute the following code: methodName := thisContext sender method selector. aClass selectors do: [:current | current == methodName ifTrue: aBlock]. Although the strings are equal, it never steps into the "ifTrue", I've tried converting both of them to ByteArray\String and it steel didn't work. Any ideas of how to compare them so I will get to the "ifTrue"? Thanks in advance

  • Tomcat 6: Access Control Exception?

    - by iftrue
I'm trying to setup a tomcat6 server, and I'm trying to match another setup someone else established. However, my deployment (default Ubuntu install) uses a policy.d/ directory structure, and the established server just uses a catalina.policy file. I've tried setting every entry in policy.d to match the given catalina.policy, but I still get the following stacktrace on boot (from localhost log). I have two questions, then. First, how do I get tomcat to use a single poilcy file, rather than the directory structure presented by policy.d/? Secondly, why, when I specify all files to use the same policy, do I still get the stack trace below? Stack trace: SEVERE: Servlet /myapp threw load() exception java.security.AccessControlException: access denied (java.lang.RuntimePermission accessClassInPackage.org.apache.jasper) at java.security.AccessControlContext.checkPermission(AccessControlContext.java:342) at java.security.AccessController.checkPermission(AccessController.java:553) at java.lang.SecurityManager.checkPermission(SecurityManager.java:549) at java.lang.SecurityManager.checkPackageAccess(SecurityManager.java:1529) at sun.misc.Launcher$AppClassLoader.loadClass(Launcher.java:291) at java.lang.ClassLoader.loadClass(ClassLoader.java:264) at org.apache.catalina.loader.WebappClassLoader.loadClass(WebappClassLoader.java:1314) at org.apache.catalina.loader.WebappClassLoader.loadClass(WebappClassLoader.java:1245) at java.lang.ClassLoader.loadClassInternal(ClassLoader.java:332) at org.apache.jasper.servlet.JspServlet.init(JspServlet.java:100) at sun.reflect.NativeMethodAccessorImpl.invoke0(Native Method) at sun.reflect.NativeMethodAccessorImpl.invoke(NativeMethodAccessorImpl.java:57) at sun.reflect.DelegatingMethodAccessorImpl.invoke(DelegatingMethodAccessorImpl.java:43) at java.lang.reflect.Method.invoke(Method.java:616) at org.apache.catalina.security.SecurityUtil$1.run(SecurityUtil.java:244) at java.security.AccessController.doPrivileged(Native Method) at javax.security.auth.Subject.doAsPrivileged(Subject.java:537) at org.apache.catalina.security.SecurityUtil.execute(SecurityUtil.java:276) at org.apache.catalina.security.SecurityUtil.doAsPrivilege(SecurityUtil.java:162) at org.apache.catalina.security.SecurityUtil.doAsPrivilege(SecurityUtil.java:115) at org.apache.catalina.core.StandardWrapper.loadServlet(StandardWrapper.java:1166) at org.apache.catalina.core.StandardWrapper.load(StandardWrapper.java:992) at org.apache.catalina.core.StandardContext.loadOnStartup(StandardContext.java:4058) at org.apache.catalina.core.StandardContext.start(StandardContext.java:4367) at org.apache.catalina.core.ContainerBase.addChildInternal(ContainerBase.java:791) at org.apache.catalina.core.ContainerBase.access$000(ContainerBase.java:123) at org.apache.catalina.core.ContainerBase$PrivilegedAddChild.run(ContainerBase.java:145) at java.security.AccessController.doPrivileged(Native Method) at org.apache.catalina.core.ContainerBase.addChild(ContainerBase.java:769) at org.apache.catalina.core.StandardHost.addChild(StandardHost.java:525) at org.apache.catalina.startup.HostConfig.deployDirectory(HostConfig.java:978) at org.apache.catalina.startup.HostConfig.deployDirectories(HostConfig.java:941) at org.apache.catalina.startup.HostConfig.deployApps(HostConfig.java:499) at org.apache.catalina.startup.HostConfig.start(HostConfig.java:1201) at org.apache.catalina.startup.HostConfig.lifecycleEvent(HostConfig.java:318) at org.apache.catalina.util.LifecycleSupport.fireLifecycleEvent(LifecycleSupport.java:117) at org.apache.catalina.core.ContainerBase.start(ContainerBase.java:1053) at org.apache.catalina.core.StandardHost.start(StandardHost.java:719) at org.apache.catalina.core.ContainerBase.start(ContainerBase.java:1045) at org.apache.catalina.core.StandardEngine.start(StandardEngine.java:443) at org.apache.catalina.core.StandardService.start(StandardService.java:516) at org.apache.catalina.core.StandardServer.start(StandardServer.java:710) at org.apache.catalina.startup.Catalina.start(Catalina.java:578) at sun.reflect.NativeMethodAccessorImpl.invoke0(Native Method) at sun.reflect.NativeMethodAccessorImpl.invoke(NativeMethodAccessorImpl.java:57) at sun.reflect.DelegatingMethodAccessorImpl.invoke(DelegatingMethodAccessorImpl.java:43) at java.lang.reflect.Method.invoke(Method.java:616) at org.apache.catalina.startup.Bootstrap.start(Bootstrap.java:288) at sun.reflect.NativeMethodAccessorImpl.invoke0(Native Method) at sun.reflect.NativeMethodAccessorImpl.invoke(NativeMethodAccessorImpl.java:57) at sun.reflect.DelegatingMethodAccessorImpl.invoke(DelegatingMethodAccessorImpl.java:43) at java.lang.reflect.Method.invoke(Method.java:616) at org.apache.commons.daemon.support.DaemonLoader.start(DaemonLoader.java:177) Policy.d grant codeBase "file:${java.home}/lib/-" { permission java.security.AllPermission; • Where can I buy a Stereo audio to 3.5mm adapter?

    - by iftrue
I need a stereo (6.33mm) to PC audio (3.5mm) adapter, and I'd like it to have an inch or two of cable so that yanking the connector doesn't break the audio port the 3.5mm is plugged into. I used to own one of these, but I lost the adapter. Where can I buy something like this online? I can only find solid adapters or 25' cables.

  • Unusual Apache->Tomcat caching issue.

    - by iftrue
Right now, I have an Apache setup sitting in front of Tomcat to handle caching. This setup has been given to an external service to manage, and since the transition, I've noticed odd behavior. Specifically, when I request a swf file from the web server, I hit the Apache cache (good), but occasionally I'll receive a truncated file. Once I receive this truncated file, the cache will NOT refresh until I manually delete the cache and let the swf pull down from tomcat again. The external service claims that the configuration is fine, but I don't see any way this could be happening aside from improper configuration. Now, there are two apache and two tomcat servers under a load balancer, and occasionally one apache cache will break while another does not (leading to 50% of all requests getting bad, truncated data). Where should I start looking to debug this issue? What could POSSIBLY be causing this odd behavior? Edit: Inspecting the logs, tomcat throws this: java.io.IOException: Bad file number at java.io.FileInputStream.readBytes(Native Method) at java.io.FileInputStream.read(FileInputStream.java:199) at java.io.BufferedInputStream.read1(BufferedInputStream.java:256) at java.io.BufferedInputStream.read(BufferedInputStream.java:317) at java.io.FilterInputStream.read(FilterInputStream.java:90) at org.apache.catalina.servlets.DefaultServlet.copyRange(DefaultServlet.java:1968) at org.apache.catalina.servlets.DefaultServlet.copy(DefaultServlet.java:1714) at org.apache.catalina.servlets.DefaultServlet.serveResource(DefaultServlet.java:809) at org.apache.catalina.servlets.DefaultServlet.doGet(DefaultServlet.java:325) at javax.servlet.http.HttpServlet.service(HttpServlet.java:690) at javax.servlet.http.HttpServlet.service(HttpServlet.java:803) at org.apache.catalina.core.ApplicationFilterChain.internalDoFilter(ApplicationFilterChain.java:290) at org.apache.catalina.core.ApplicationFilterChain.doFilter(ApplicationFilterChain.java:206) at org.apache.catalina.core.StandardWrapperValve.invoke(StandardWrapperValve.java:233) at org.apache.catalina.core.StandardContextValve.invoke(StandardContextValve.java:175) at org.apache.catalina.core.StandardHostValve.invoke(StandardHostValve.java:128) at org.apache.catalina.valves.ErrorReportValve.invoke(ErrorReportValve.java:102) at org.apache.catalina.valves.AccessLogValve.invoke(AccessLogValve.java:568) at org.apache.catalina.core.StandardEngineValve.invoke(StandardEngineValve.java:109) at org.apache.catalina.ha.session.JvmRouteBinderValve.invoke(JvmRouteBinderValve.java:209) at org.apache.catalina.ha.tcp.ReplicationValve.invoke(ReplicationValve.java:347) at org.terracotta.modules.tomcat.tomcat_5_5.SessionValve55.invoke(SessionValve55.java:57) at org.apache.catalina.connector.CoyoteAdapter.service(CoyoteAdapter.java:286) at org.apache.jk.server.JkCoyoteHandler.invoke(JkCoyoteHandler.java:190) at org.apache.jk.common.HandlerRequest.invoke(HandlerRequest.java:283) at org.apache.jk.common.ChannelSocket.invoke(ChannelSocket.java:767) at org.apache.jk.common.ChannelSocket.processConnection(ChannelSocket.java:697) at org.apache.jk.common.ChannelSocket$SocketConnection.runIt(ChannelSocket.java:889) at org.apache.tomcat.util.threads.ThreadPool$ControlRunnable.run(ThreadPool.java:690) at java.lang.Thread.run(Thread.java:619) followed by access_log.2009-12-14.txt:1.2.3.4 - - [14/Dec/2009:00:27:32 -0500] "GET /myApp/mySwf.swf HTTP/1.1" 304 - access_log.2009-12-14.txt:1.2.3.4 - - [14/Dec/2009:01:27:33 -0500] "GET /myApp/mySwf.swf HTTP/1.1" 304 - access_log.2009-12-14.txt:1.2.3.4 - - [14/Dec/2009:01:39:53 -0500] "GET /myApp/mySwf.swf HTTP/1.1" 304 - access_log.2009-12-14.txt:1.2.3.4 - - [14/Dec/2009:02:27:38 -0500] "GET /myApp/mySwf.swf HTTP/1.1" 304 - So apache is caching the bad file size. What could possibly be causing this, and possibly separate, how do I ensure that this exception does not get written to cache?

  • Unable to connect to mysql through JDBC connector through Tomcat or externally.

    - by iftrue
I've installed a stock mysql 5.5 installation, and while I can connect to the mysql service via the mysql command, and the service seems to be running, I cannot connect to it through spring+tomcat or from an external jdbc connector. I'm using the following URL: jdbc:mysql://myserver.com:myport/mydb with proper username/password, but I receive the following message: server.com: Communications link failure The last packet sent successfully to the server was 0 milliseconds ago. the driver has not received any packets from the server. and tomcat throws: com.mysql.jdbc.exceptions.jdbc4.CommunicationsException: Communications link failure The last packet sent successfully to the server was 0 milliseconds ago. The driver has not received any packets from the server. sun.reflect.NativeConstructorAccessorImpl.newInstance0(Native Method) sun.reflect.NativeConstructorAccessorImpl.newInstance(NativeConstructorAccessorImpl.java:57) Which seems to be the same issue as if I try to connect externally.

  • How can I stream Pandora to my Xbox 360?

    - by iftrue
How can I get pandora to stream to my xbox 360? My initial thoughts would indicate that I would need a software-emulated sound card, and then I would need a program to attach to that soundcard and perform the actual streaming. Has anyone done this before? If so, do you have instructions on how to do so?

  • Remote deploying wars to a liferay installation

    - by iftrue
With vanilla tomcat, you can POST to URLs beneath SOMURL/manager/ with a proper manager user role defined. The liferay deployment of tomcat, however, is missing the manager and host-manager applications, and when I copy the directories from a vanilla Tomcat installation, I get the exception below: Exception: javax.servlet.ServletException: Error allocating a servlet instance org.apache.catalina.authenticator.AuthenticatorBase.invoke(AuthenticatorBase.java:558) org.apache.catalina.valves.ErrorReportValve.invoke(ErrorReportValve.java:102) org.apache.catalina.connector.CoyoteAdapter.service(CoyoteAdapter.java:298) org.apache.coyote.http11.Http11Processor.process(Http11Processor.java:852) org.apache.coyote.http11.Http11Protocol$Http11ConnectionHandler.process(Http11Protocol.java:588) org.apache.tomcat.util.net.JIoEndpoint$Worker.run(JIoEndpoint.java:489) java.lang.Thread.run(Thread.java:636) root cause java.lang.SecurityException: Servlet of class org.apache.catalina.manager.HTMLManagerServlet is privileged and cannot be loaded by this web application org.apache.catalina.authenticator.AuthenticatorBase.invoke(AuthenticatorBase.java:558) org.apache.catalina.valves.ErrorReportValve.invoke(ErrorReportValve.java:102) org.apache.catalina.connector.CoyoteAdapter.service(CoyoteAdapter.java:298) org.apache.coyote.http11.Http11Processor.process(Http11Processor.java:852) org.apache.coyote.http11.Http11Protocol$Http11ConnectionHandler.process(Http11Protocol.java:588) org.apache.tomcat.util.net.JIoEndpoint$Worker.run(JIoEndpoint.java:489) java.lang.Thread.run(Thread.java:636) What's the proper way to remote deploy wars to a liferay instance? (Not portlets, in my case.)

  • Forwarding apache requests (port 80) to Tomcat (port 8080)?

    - by iftrue
I want to run a Tomcat application through a regular website URL, such as www.xyz.com. I would like the root of this domain to act as the base directory for the web application, so each request to www.xyz.com/a/b/c becomes www.abc.com:8080/myApp/a/b/c. Ideally, I would be able to do this transparently and only for certain webapps. www.abc.com:8080 should still respond to requests. What do I need to do to make this happen?

  • HP Mini 210 -> Touchpad doesn't work on Ubuntu

    - by iftrue
Specifically, I can neither click nor right-click by using the the touch pad. The touch pad has buttons built-into it, which is why it probably doesn't work by default. If you followed my previous post, I switched to ubuntu to get wireless working on this netbook (which it does, yay), but now I can't right click. Lovely. Any suggesions? I installed gsynaptics and enabled SHMConfig, but that didn't do any good.

  • Best way to bring a system down with a "maintenance" message?

    - by iftrue
What's the best way to bring down an apache2/tomcat6 setup for maintenance? Specifically, apache2 can stay running, but tomcat needs to restart to accomplish a number of tasks. My initial thought is to change the root directory in the httpd.conf VirtualHost entry to point to a new location, then issue a force-reload command to direct traffic away from the actual tomcat application. After some period of time, I perform tomcat maintenance, switch the VirtualHost entry, and force-reload to begin directing traffic back. Is there a better way to do this? I'm looking to start work on a rather extensive web application, and my deployment procedure right now involves shutting everything down and bringing everything back up. Is there a better way to do this than what I've proposed?

  • python: iif or (x ? a : b)

    - by Albert
If Python would support the (x ? a : b) syntax from C/C++, I would write: print paid ? ("paid: " + str(paid) + " €") : "not paid" I really don't want to have an if-check and two independent prints here (because that is only an example above, in my code, it looks much more complicated and would really be stupid to have almost the same code twice). However, Python does not support this operator or any similar operator (afaik). What is the easiest/cleanest/most common way to do this? I have searched a bit and seen someone defining an iif(cond, iftrue, iffalse) function, inspired from Visual Basic. I wondered if I really have to add that code and if/why there is no such basic function in the standard library.
