  • Microsoft IntelliMouse episodic pauses

    - by Rob Hills
    I have a Microsoft IntelliMouse connected via USB to a computer (directly, NOT via hub) currently running Ubuntu 11.10, but this problem also existed before we upgraded from 10.10. Every now and then (apparently randomly) the computer "pauses" for anything up to a few seconds. This usually occurs after a mouse movement and during the pause, the computer is completely unresponsive to mouse or keyboard. lsusb shows: Bus 001 Device 001: ID 1d6b:0002 Linux Foundation 2.0 root hub Bus 002 Device 001: ID 1d6b:0001 Linux Foundation 1.1 root hub Bus 003 Device 001: ID 1d6b:0001 Linux Foundation 1.1 root hub Bus 004 Device 001: ID 1d6b:0001 Linux Foundation 1.1 root hub Bus 005 Device 001: ID 1d6b:0001 Linux Foundation 1.1 root hub Bus 001 Device 002: ID 0409:0058 NEC Corp. Any thoughts on what might be causing this or what else I can do to diagnose the problem?

  • Using Enterprise Library DAAB in C# Console Project

    - by Kayes
    How can I prepare the configuration settings (App.config, maybe?) I need to use Enterprise Library Data Access Application Block in a C# console project? Following is what I currently trying with an App.config in the console project. When I call DatabaseFactory.CreateDatabase(), it throws an exception which says: "Configuration system failed to initialize" <configuration> <dataConfiguration> <xmlSerializerSection type="Microsoft.Practices.EnterpriseLibrary.Data. Configuration.DatabaseSettings, Microsoft.Practices.EnterpriseLibrary.Data, Version=1.0.0.0, Culture=neutral, PublicKeyToken=null"> <enterpriseLibrary.databaseSettings xmlns:xsd="http://www.w3.org/2001/XMLSchema" xmlns:xsi="http://www.w3.org/2001/XMLSchema-instance" defaultInstance="Northwind" xmlns="http://www.microsoft.com/practices/enterpriselibrary/08-31-2004/data"> <databaseTypes> <databaseType name="Sql Server" type="Microsoft.Practices.EnterpriseLibrary.Data.Sql.SqlDatabase, Microsoft.Practices.EnterpriseLibrary.Data, Version=1.0.0.0, Culture=neutral, PublicKeyToken=null" /> </databaseTypes> <instances> <instance name="Northwind" type="Sql Server" connectionString="Northwind" /> </instances> <connectionStrings> <connectionString name="Northwind"> <parameters> <parameter name="Database" value="Northwind" isSensitive="false" /> <parameter name="Integrated Security" value="True" isSensitive="false" /> <parameter name="Server" value="local" isSensitive="false" /> <parameter name="User ID" value="sa" isSensitive="false" /> <parameter name="Password" value="sa1234" isSensitive="true" /> </parameters> </connectionString> </connectionStrings> </enterpriseLibrary.databaseSettings> </xmlSerializerSection> </dataConfiguration> </configuration>

  • SQL Server 2005 Table Alter History

    - by Kayes
    Hi. Does SQL Server maintains any history to track table alterations like column add, delete, rename, type/ length change etc? I found many suggest to use stored procedures to do this manually. But I'm curious if SQL Server keeps such history in any system tables? Thanks.

  • Best approach to write huge xml data to file?

    - by Kayes
    Hi. I'm currently exporting a database table with huge data (100000+ records) into an xml file using XmlTextWriter class and I'm writing directly to a file on the physical drive. _XmlTextWriterObject = new XmlTextWriter(_xmlFilePath, null); While my code runs ok, my question is that is it the best approach? Or should I write the whole xml in memory stream first and then write the xml document in physical file from memory stream? And what are the effects on memory/ performance in both cases?

  • Unique id of a column

    - by Kayes
    Hi. Does each column of a table in SQL Server have a unique id? I've looked into sys.columns and the column_id there is merely the order of the columns which changes if the order of the column is changed. I'd like to know if SQL Server maintains a unique id for each column as it does for each table and other objects. And if it does, how can I get that? Thanks.

  • jQuery innerHTML does not work properly (!)

    - by Kayes
    I was trying to build an <a> tag and set it in a <td> of a table. The string is built perfectly but when I set this as the innerHTML using jQuery, the string gets broken. I can't figure out why this is happening? Any clues? Here's the string I want to set in the <td>: <a onclick='return EditIssueItemBatch('1c1e27a2-beac-4772-a26f-6a7e05529a65', '498ba483-ca06-4b23-b3a9-0085e4760ff1')'>Edit</a> But here is how it looks after setting as innerHTML: <A onclick="return EditIssueItemBatch(" ?498ba483-ca06-4b23-b3a9-0085e4760ff1?)? 1c1e27a2-beac-4772-a26f-6a7e05529a65?,>Edit</A> And the following is my code-snippet.. var tr = $("#itemIssueBatchListTable > tbody:last").children()[data.Index + 1]; ... ... var strBuff = []; strBuff.push("<a onclick='return EditIssueItemBatch('"); strBuff.push(data.ItemIssueBatch.ItemCode_FK); strBuff.push("', '"); strBuff.push(data.ItemIssueBatch.StockDetCode_FK); strBuff.push("')'>Edit</a>"); tr.cells[9].innerHTML = strBuff.join(""); ... ...
