  • my MKAnnotationVIew is not showing the title

    Hi, I am new to iPhone programming and I can't understand why the MKAnnotationView is not showing the title's of my annotation's.   • CGAffineTransform does not rotate subview - MKAnnotationView, CGAffineTransformMakeRotation

    I have a view that does 1 simple thing: draws an image. I can rotate the image like this: CGAffineTransform transform = CGAffineTransformMakeRotation((CGFloat)radians); self.transform = transform; // WORKS: DRAWS, ROTATES But if I delegate the image-drawing function to a subview, and apply the rotation transform to the subview: CGAffineTransform transform = CGAffineTransformMakeRotation((CGFloat)radians); self.imageView.transform = transform; // DOESN'T WORK: DRAWS, BUT NO ROTATE I get the image drawn, but no rotation. Why? FWIW the "self" view is an MKAnnotationView.

  • MKAnnotationView is not added for some annotations

    I find that MKMapView has to be re-centered to a significant distance away from an existing map center to be able to add more annotations to the map and DISPLAY them. Is this a bug in SDK 3.2? I have looked literally EVERYWHERE and can't find a way to refresh the map view without having to zoom in or zoom out or move the map view. Why?? I don't mind if the solution involves doing a bunch of custom delegates and notifications. I just NEED this so bad. Basically, I am adding pins (annotations) to a map view when performing a search for businesses. I remove existing annotations on every search. So the annotations are added to the map on every search. If I search twice with the same map view, I see the results loading but the map view is empty. The pins will appear if i move/resize/zoom in. Anybody seen this? any help is appreciated.

In my app i have a list with the locations corespondent to the pins on my map. if i select a location from the list i want to make the corresponding pin to bounce(2-3 bounces). is there any way to do such an animation?

  • Random MKAnnotationView is tapped when there are overlapping annotations

    I cannot believe this bug/problem doesn't have any solution! In my iphone application, I'm using MapKit with MKMapView and custom MKAnnotationView. The problem is when annotations overlap (in my app, annotations are photos and those photos may overlap) and when you tap on the annotation that appears on front, other annotation (on back) receives the event (seems to be random). I didn't find any way to send the event to the front annotation. Z ordering and Order of overlapping annotations questions on stackoverflow did not help me that much. Please any idea is welcome (even ugly ones)!   • Refresh MKAnnotationView on a MKMapView

    I'd like to a-synchronically load images for my custom MKAnnotationView; I'm already using the EGOImageView-framework (it goes very well with UITableViews), but I fail to make it work on MKMapView. Images seem to be loaded, but I cannot refresh them on the map - [myMap setNeedsDisplay] does nothing.

  • Replacing a calloutaccessoryview in mkannotationview

    In my viewForAnnotation delegate, I create a MKAnnotationView with leftCalloutaccessory as a info button. When the info button is tapped, I want to replace it with a UIActivityIndicator. So in the calloutAccessoryTapped delegate, I wrote view.leftCalloutaccessoryView = [UIActivityIndicator indicatorWithStyle:UIActivityIndicatorWhite]; The callout accessory seems to change, but it seems like the view doesn't get updated immediately. That's when the callout accessory gets hidden (by tapping another pin) and is re-opened, I see a spinner. But otherwise, I don't. I tried calling [view setNeedsdisplay] and [view setNeedsLayout] and [view layoutsubviews] as well but in vain. Any suggestions/pointers?

    I have an application that uses MKMapView and at some point in the app I need to remove all the current pins in the map using [mapView removeAnnotations:mapView.annotations] And then I want to show again the current user location mapView.showUserLocation = YES But I can only make it reappear as a regular pin, because the userLocation view class its not public so I cant return views of that type.     I have a map annotation view that contains a rightcallout button which loads an accessory view which is a UIViewController class. I am using resuable annotations, but am wondering how I can pass updated information to my UIViewController class. Let's say I have 2 string values which map to 2 UILabels on my view. How can I update those values after the initial accessory view has already been loaded into memory as a resusable view? Any help would be appreciated.

  • Scaling MKMapView Annotations relative to the zoom level

    The Problem I'm trying to create a visual radius circle around a annonation, that remains at a fixed size in real terms. Eg. So If i set the radius to 100m, as you zoom out of the Map view the radius circle gets progressively smaller. I've been able to achieve the scaling, however the radius rect/circle seems to "Jitter" away from the Pin Placemark as the user manipulates the view. The Manifestation Here is a video of the behaviour.   • How to open call out MKAnnotationView programmatically? (iPhone, MapKit)

    I want to open up the callout for an MKPinAnnotationView programmatically. Eg I drop 10 pins on the map, and want to open up the one closest to me. How would I go about doing this? Apple has specified the 'selected' parameter for MKAnnotationView's, but discourages setting it directly (this doesn't work, tried it). For the rest MKAnnotationView only has a setHighlighted (same story), and canShowCallout method.. Any hints if this is possible at all?

  • MapView Annotation Callout action when opened

    Hi, I have a mapview with serveral annotations. Every annotation has a leftCalloutAccessoryView which is a UIViewController class. The reason for this is that I want every annotation to load some data from the server, and add the result of that data to the annotation subTitle. This all works perfectly, except that I dont want to load all that data when my app is started, but I want to the remote call to be done only when the callout bubble is opened. Does anybody know how I can do this? The viewWillload, viewDidLoad ect. don't work in this case. Any examples as well? Best regards, Paul Peelen

  • How do I change the frame position for a custom MKAnnotationView?

    I am trying to make a custom annotation view by subclassing MKAnnotationView and overriding the drawRect method. I want the view to be drawn offset from the annotation's position, somewhat like MKPinAnnotationView does it, so that the point of the pin is at the specified coordinates, rather than the middle of the pin. So I set the frame position and size as shown below. However, it doesn't look like I can affect the position of the frame at all, only the size. The image ends up being drawn centered over the annotation position. Any tips on how to achieve what I want?     I'm trying to simulate the user location animation in MapKit (where-by the user's position is represented by a pulsating blue dot). I've created a custom subclass of MKAnnotationView and in the drawRect method I'm attempting to cycle through a set of colors. Here's a simpler implementation of what I'm doing: - (void)drawRect:(CGRect)rect { float magSquared = event.magnitude * event.magnitude; CGContextRef context = UIGraphicsGetCurrentContext(); if (idx == -1) { r[0] = 1.0; r[1] = 0.5; r[2] = 0; b[0] = 0; b[1] = 1.0; b[2] = 0.5; g[0] = 0.5; g[1] = 0; g[2] = 1.0; idx = 0; } // CGContextSetRGBFillColor(context, 1.0, 1.0 - magSquared * 0.015, 0.211, .6); CGContextSetRGBFillColor(context, r[idx], g[idx], b[idx], 0.75); CGContextFillEllipseInRect(context, rect); idx++; if (idx > 3) idx = 0; } Unfortunately this just causes the annotations to be one of the 3 different colors and doesn't cycle through them. Is there a way to force the MKAnnotations to continually redraw so that it appears to be animated?
