  I am making a music player in PyQt4, and I am using Phonon to play the music itself. This application is aimed primarily at Windows, but I plan on also supporting Mac and Linux versions. What I want to know is which audio formats are supported by Phonon so that I can ensure that the user only enters those files.

• Purpose of Zope Interfaces?

  I have started using Zope interfaces in my code, and as of now, they are really only documentation. I use them to specify what attributes the class should possess, explicitly implement them in the appropriate classes and explicitly check for them where I expect one. This is fine, but I would like them to do more if possible, such as actually verify that the class has implemented the interface, instead of just verifying that I have said that the class implements the interface. I have read the zope wiki a couple of times, but still cannot see much more use for interfaces than what I am currently doing. So, my question is what else can you use these interfaces for, and how do you use them for more.

• Setting A Generator As The Argument Of A PyQt4 Signal

  I want to use a generator as the argument passed by a PyQt4 signal, and I am not sure as to the cleanest way. I could just do something like elementChosen=QtCore.pyqtSignal(type((i for i in xrange (i)))), but this just looks ugly. Any suggestions?

• Emacs shell output buffer height

  Hi , i have the following in my .emacs file(thanks to a SOer nikwin), which evaluates the current buffer content and displays the output in another buffer. (defun shell-compile () (interactive) (save-buffer) (shell-command (concat "python " (buffer-file-name)))) (add-hook 'python-mode-hook (lambda () (local-set-key (kbd "\C-c\C-c") 'shell-compile))) The problem is that the output window takes half the emacs screen. Is there any way to set the output windows's height to something smaller. I googled for 30mins or so and could not find anything that worked. Thanks in advance.
