• Counting the most tagged tag with MySQL

  Hi folks My problem is that I'm trying to count which tag has been used most in a table of user-submitted code. But the problem is with the database structure. The current query I'm using is this: SELECT tag1, COUNT(tag1) AS counttag FROM code GROUP BY tag1 ORDER BY counttag DESC LIMIT 1 This is fine, except, it only counts the most often occurence of tag1 - and my database has 5 tags per post - so there's columns tag1, tag2, tag3, tag4, tag5. How do I get the highest occurring tag value from all 5 columns in one query? Jack

• AJAX response inside jqplot not working

  I'm trying to render data from an AJAX response as a bar chart with jqplot. To render this bar chart I use two variables: s1 which contains the numbers ex: s1 = [22,67,32,89] ticks which contains the name corresponding to a number inside s1 ex: ticks = ["Jack", "Mary", "Paul", "John"] So my AJAX returns two variables, data1 and data2. When I console.log(data1) I get 22,67,32,89 When I console.log(data2) I get "Jack", "Mary", "Paul", "John" I then add the square brackets and change variable: s1 = [data1] ticks = [data2] When I console.log(s1) I get ["22,67,32,89"] When I console.log(ticks) I get "Jack", "Mary", "Paul", "John" And the graph does not render, this is my code: s1 = [data]; ticks = [data]; plot4 = $.jqplot('chartdiv4', [s1], { animate: !$.jqplot.use_excanvas, series:[{color:'#5FAB78'}], seriesDefaults:{ renderer:$.jqplot.BarRenderer, pointLabels: { show: true } }, axes: { xaxis: { renderer: $.jqplot.CategoryAxisRenderer, ticks: ticks }, yaxis:{min:0, max:100, label:'%',labelRenderer: $.jqplot.CanvasAxisLabelRenderer} }, highlighter: { show: false } }); });

• How to get started with testing(jMock)

  Hello, I'm trying to learn how to write tests. I'm not looking for that at the moment, I'm trying to write tests for already existing code with jMock. The official documentation is vague to say the least and just too hard for me. GetId is a String not int method that is not mistake. Test fails : unexpected invocation of person.getId() I'm using jMock any help would be appreciated. As I understood when I call this get method to execute it properly I need to mock person.getId() , and I've been sniping around in circles for a while now any help would be appreciated.

• iPhone: App crashes when I click on a cell in table view.

  Hi there, Compiling my application works—everything is fine. The only errors I get are by deprecated functions (setText). The only problem is now, is that when I tap on a cell in my table, the app crashes, even though it's meant to push to the next view in the stack. Any solutions are appreciated, if you need any code, just ask. Also, how can I only make sure that one cell goes to only one view? For example: When I tap on CSS, it takes me to a new table with different levels of CSS. WHen I tap on an item in that new view, it comes up with an article on what I just selected. Regards, Jack

  I need to retrieve all records ordered alphabetically. Except for a predefined list of record's columns which their records should appear first in a given predefined order, then all other records should be sorted alphabetically based on the same column For instance, assume we have the following table which is called Names Lets assume the predefined list is ("Mathew", "Ashraf", "Jack"). I.e. these are the names of whom their records should be listed first as in the predefined order. So the desired query result should be: Which query could retrieve this custom order ? P.S, I'm using MySQL. • How created method with signature as List

  Hi all, I'm very new to Java programming language so this is probably dumb question but I have to ask it because I can't figure it out on my own. Here is the deal. I want to create method which extracts certain object type from a list. So the method should receive List as argument, meaning list should contain either Object1 or Object2. I've tried like this : public Object1 extractObject(List<?>){ //some pseudo-code ... loop trough list and check if list item is instance of object one return that instance } The problem with declaring method with List<?> as method argument is that I receive compilation error from eclipse Syntax error on token ">", VariableDeclaratorId expected after this token. How do I set the method signature properly to accept object types either Object1 or Object2 ? Thank you

  So I thought this should be easy, but, I'm n00bing out here and failing epicly (as they say on teh interwebz). • Python how to handle # in a dictionary

  I've got some json from last.fm's api which I've serialised into a dictionary using simplejson. A quick example of the basic structure is below. { "artist": "similar": { "artist": { "name": "Blah", "image": {"#text":"URLHERE","size": "small"} "image": {"#text":"URLHERE","size": "medium"} "image": {"#text":"URLHERE","size": "large"} } } } Any ideas how I can access the image urls of various different sizes. My attempts at accessing the #text variable don't seem to work because python doesn't appear to like #'s in the names. And any ideas how I can easily get the url for the depending on the size?   Is it possible to remove than add back click event to specific element? i.e I have a $("#elem").click(function{//some behaviour});, $(".elem").click(function{//some behaviour});(there are more than 1 element) while my other function getJson is executing I'd like to remove the click event from the #elem, and add it again onsuccess from getJson function, but preserve both mouseenter and mouseleave events the whole time? Or maybe create overlay to prevent clicking like in modal windows? is that better idea? edit : I've seen some really good answers, but there is one detail that I omitted not on purpose. There are more than one element, and I call the click function on the className not on elementId as I stated in the original question

  I'd like to get started with qpid, can anyone recommend some useful resources/links/code examples for me to study? I'm interested about java implementations?I'd like to create message sender/listener. I've already done messaging with jboss where I send the message to the queue and the listener picks it up from there, what is different with qpid? Is it the same only replacing jboss as a server with qpid or?I'm new to all of this it might sound weird when I ask it.   Hi all, I want to build simple SOAP web service. So far I've only worked with existing SOAP/Rest services. And now I'd like to create my own, simple one for starters. For example create simple hello + string web service where I provide the string in request from SOAP ui or similar tool.   I need to split this line string in each line, I need to get the third word(film name) but as you see the delimeter is one big blank character in some cases its small like before the numbers at the end or its big as in front of numbers at front. Now I found example in the book about declaring Enums inside a class but outside any methods so I gave it a shot : Enum CoffeeSize { BIG, HUGE, OVERWHELMING }; In the book its spelled enum and I get this compile message Syntax error, insert ";" to complete BlockStatements Are the Enums that important at all?I mean should I skip it or its possible that I will be using those some day?

  I'm seeing very weird behaviour in relation to this domain and a tracking image. On a specific page on our site, I'm seeing a script that's being added dynamically, apparently via flash (I wasn't even aware that flash could alter the DOM ...) That script is located at: http://scorecardresearch.com/beacon.js When I request that URL, I see a 1x1 gif. Another weird point is that this domain appears to break all the web-based whois tools; entering that domain results in a 1x1 gif. This is even to the extent where, if I enter scorecardresearch.com into the Title as part of this question, GIF code appears just below it! Hence, the "dot" in the title. The only 'unusual' thing on the page is a slideshare 'widget', which is flash-based - that's why I'm concluding that flash is altering the DOM. Anyone know what is going on here? How concerned should I be?

  I was very happy to receive an email last week to confirm I would receive the MVP Award for SQL Server for 2010 - very exciting news ! I missed the first FedEx delivery, however this weekend they were able to successfully deliver the package from Microsoft and it began to feel very real as I opened the box to find the MVP glass-ware! Since leaving Microsoft, the past couple of years have been incredibly challenging, exciting and satisfying.  The MVP Award is really special, the SQL community has a fantastic, international base with many successful events, leaders and contributors providing an impressive network both online and in-person.
