• Google Webmaster Tools Index Status is 0 but sitemap URL shows indexed

  I've added my site to Google Webmaster tools www.medexpress.co.uk. The site was submitted a few weeks ago. The index status shows 0 but it shows 6 URLs have been indexed in the sitemaps section. If I search in google I can see that the site is indexed and several pages appear: https://www.google.co.uk/search?q=site%3Awww.medexpress.co.uk&oq=site%3Awww.medexpress.co.uk&sourceid=chrome&ie=UTF-8 My question is why is the index status 0 when the sitemap section shows several indexed pages and also the pages appear in the search engine.

• Google Webmaster Tools Data Highlighter says "Failed to load data, please try again later"

  I seem to be unable to access the data highlighter in Google Webmaster Tools since I attempted to start a new highlight on a page. Clicking the red Start Highlighting button to open the tagger did nothing, so I refreshed. Now, the page loads without the middle content section, then a few seconds later shows the following error: Failed to load data, please try again later. I can't get any of the middle section to load, even the list of current pages/page sets that have been highlighted—this error shows. I thought it may be a Google service outage, but other sites' data highlighters work fine. It also seems coincidental that it stopped working after I attempted to start highlighting—I was able to list the existing pages and page sets fine before that, and still am able to access the service on other sites. I've tried clearing browser data and have tried Google Chrome as well—same problem. What's happened?

  Hi, I've got a Flex 3 website. When I in Google's webmaster tools - Your site on the web - Keywords, none are listed. Does anyone have an all-Flex site that has keywords listed for it the above? The sites been up for about a month. It's been indexed by Google. I have keyword metatags in the site, which from what I've read Google ignores.   I am looking in to Google Webmaster Tools - Crawl Error section. How should I handle for those URL due their system / application showed invalid URL. e.g http://www.example/images/products/s_=enlarge_16gb.jpg but, I dunno what happen to yahoo groups, it break the link into http://www.example/images/products/s_= enlarge_16gb.jpg and I only make the top part become hyperlink, which is http://www.example/images/products/s_= Because of the URL, Google show crawl error, I got few error because of this kind of result or because other people typo error. How do I prevent this. I am sure I don't have the right go and change other people post. What is the solution for this. Thanks!

  Hi, webmaster tools for my site displays that robots.txt unreachable and for all links in sitemap it says network unreachable. sitemap.xml unreachable. These appear in crawl stats page. I discussed with the support team of my hosting and they said... Hi, I have verified apache logs, i cannot see any issues on your website/webserver/ Possible issues. There may the routing issue from the googles server to our server. When a google bots hits goes high the IP will be automatically blacklisted by our firewall to avoid server loads & downtimes. As we donot have access to their services, We cannot able to give details of their details/logs etc. The sitemaps link shows an exclamation mark which means the file was not reachable. What could be the problem and how to solve it?

  I have a Question and Answer site about immigration. now I divided it into 2 sites: mysite.co.uk about immigration to UK mysite.com with sub domains for every country, Like: australia.mysite.com , sweden.mysite.com , ... now I had moved All the content from my first site into .co.uk and .com site and it's sub domains to fill theme. I now that Google will detect my new 2 sites as duplicate of first on and it is very bad for SEO. and I don't think Google webmaster tools has a tool for it. so Please Guide me how to fix this problem.

• Reading 'Index Status' graph in Google Webmaster tools

  I recently found a bunch of old files that had been ftp'ed to a live production server by mistake on a static (html / css / js) site. I manually deleted these files, but today when checking in Google Webmaster tools i found this graph below. The 'update' marker is from 3/9/14, what i can work out is what Google is trying to tell me, are they saying that : There was a ranking update like Penguin or Panda and they penalized my site and un-indexed a load of pages which they thought were junk.. OR Is this showing that I updated the site by deleting the files on the server on 3/9/14 OR Is this something else ?

• Google Webmaster Tools shows invalid data

  Webmaster Tools shows 1 URL error (not found page). The report says that 5 pages are linking to a page (let's call it x) that does not exist (and because it doesn't exists it returns a soft 404). HOWEVER, I look in those 5 pages (in the source code) and none is linking to the x page. It is like Google sees an old page that was indeed pointing to x. What is the problem? How do I know if Google cached an old version for those 5 pages?

• Usefulness of the Backlinks shown in Webmaster Tools

  Is the list of links for a site shown in Google Webmaster Tools a complete list or just a sample? I've noticed that the links in there appear to be all the ones I didn't think would have any real value - either because they were nofollow or from irrelivant sites. The few I did think would be some use have never shown up and there's also some links that are sometimes there and sometimes not (such as my linkedIn profile). Does this mean that the missing links don't/no longer carry any value? It almost appears that the list is there for Google to either inform you about problems (there was a useful list there when someone tried to SPAM my site) or mis-imform you about which link-building strategies work or not (to keep people guessing about what works or not).

  I discovered that all information about links to my site disappeared from Google Webmaster Tools. Last time I checked the "Links to your site" page in GWT there was nice list of linking domains and all. But now there is only "No data available." There were no changes to the site contents. Why could it be? And what can I do to fix this? About a month earlier I found that PR of all my pages dropped by 2 points. May these changes be related?

• Redirect error in Google Webmaster Tools report

  I built a CMS and I used it to create the following website http://www.tkdmontecatini.com . After some days, Google Webmaster Tools started to give me several "Redirect error" on some pages like the follows: http://www.tkdmontecatini.com/it/photogallery http://www.tkdmontecatini.com/it/pagina/9/Informazioni/Corsi/Chi-Siamo http://www.tkdmontecatini.com/it/pagina/2/Informazioni/Eventi/Eventi The funny things are: If I access those links from a browser, it's all right and I've not redirect loops or other similar issues If I use the "Fetch as Googlebot" function, I get a great "Success" result Question: Any idea of why this happens and how can I fix it?

• Webmaster tools showing 404 for non existent folder pages

  Google webmaster tools is reporting some/many 404 urls that don't exist on my site. The links are things such as domain.com/xyz/ However that doesn't exist, but domain.com/xyz/index.html does exist. The "linked from" pages all show proper links to the "/xyz/index.html". The page without index.html DOES 404, but why is google even trying these urls if they are not linked to? My real question, is there a way to have google stop attempting to load these pages, and ultimately remove these from the crawl errors report. Thanks.

I am just wondering about that, because everyone knows that they can get this software running for free (if it is done illegally). Why don't they just use a cracked version? Is it so likely to get caught? • Weird keywords in google webmaster tools

  I just happened to check the keywords list on Google Webmaster Tools for my site, which is an educational content site about finance. To my big surprise, after the first keyword, which is 'finance', I found amongst the 20 highest ranked (!) entries words like: mysql, server, adobe, flash, player, homez. What (i'm tempted to add "the heck") does that mean ? Is that something I should worry about? If so, how did these get there and how can I eliminate these / avoid they get into that list ? For some reason Webmaster Tools is crawling my website and showing a lot of 404 errors which are from /_ like additional pages that I've never created. • Technology Plan - Which tools should I use?

  Hi, Soon, I'll start my own software company. My primary product/solution will be a Billing/Invoice Software. In a near future, I pretend to expand this first module to an ERP. My app should be able to run as a stand-alone application and as a Web-based application (so there will be, probably two GUI for the same Database). My problem, now, is to choose the right tools; I'm talking about what programming language(s) should I use, what kind of database should I choose, and stuff like that. I'm primarily a VB6 programmer, so probably I'll choose the .net framework (vb/c#). But I'm seriously thinking about Java. Java has 2 "pros" that I really like: write once, run anywhere and it is free (I think...). I've been thinking about RIAs too, but I just don't have any substantial feedback about them... Then, I'll need a report tool. Crystal Reports? HTML based Reports? Other? Databases: I'm not sure if I should use SQL-Server Express or PostgreSQL (or other). I'd be happy to hear any comments and advices Thanks

• How to Get JSF 2.0 Working with Eclipse 3.5 and JBoss 5.1

  I am running Eclipse 3.5 and JBoss 5.1. I want to create a JSF 2.0 project. I heard here that the Eclipse JBoss Tools plugin version 3.1 (available here) could do this for me. I have installed the plugin. However, if I go to the Project Facets properties page for a Dynamic Web Project, I only see Facets for JavaServer Faces 1.1 and 1.2. My Java facet is set at 6.0, and my Dynamic Web Module to 2.5. In the Targeted Runtimes properties page, I see that I am targeting the JBoss 5.1 Runtime. I understand that Eclipse Helios will be here next week, but I'm curious if its possible to get JSF 2.0 working with 3.5. Any thoughts?

  Hi All, I am new to Jboss and deployment of web applications etc. I have two different war files deployed on the same Jboss server. Further they also share some classes which read different properties based on the application settings (Let's call a common class as CommonClass.class which is present in App1.war and App2.war; CommonClass has a member "FIELD1", so both these war files have CommonClass.class each of which reads different properties, into CommonClass.FIELD1). But during run-time when I access FIELD1 in one application (App2.war-CommonClass.FIELD1) it has the value from another application (App1.war-CommonClass.FIELD1). Is there any way I can explicitly specify so that JBoss treats these classes and fields to be different? so that both these classes can exist in memory yet hold their respective correct values? The application.xml has entries looking like: <module id="Core_JavaModule"> <java>APP-INF/lib/core.jar</java> </module> <module id="Public_WebModule"> <web> <web-uri>public.war</web-uri> <context-root>/</context-root> </web> </module> The core.jar is read in OK, but when it tries to read public.war, I get: org.jboss.deployment.DeploymentException: Failed to find module file: public.war I've confirmed that the war directory is there; it is an exploded war. Not a war file. Is JBoss looking for a war file? Or will it grok a war directory?

  As per the Q&A here, I'd like to implement a similar auto-versioning system for a web app running in JBoss 5. Is there anything already out there to do this sort of thing, or will I need to write something myself? To be clear: I am not using PHP. Not knowing much about PHP, I'm not sure what the Tomcat/JBoss analogs of PHP's .htaccess, etc. are. If I do have to write my own auto-versioning, where would I start? The principle is clear to me - rewriting the URL using the file's timestamp, but I don't know much about URL rewriting with JBoss/Tomcat.

• How to reference an embedded JCA resource adapater

  For our current J2EE project based on JBoss, we need to interface with a remote system using message driven beans and a JCA resource adapter provided as a RAR file by a third party. I would like to package and deploy the entire project as an EAR file to our JBoss server. Most notably, the RAR file should be embedded within the EAR file and not be deployed globally. All of this is working fine so far, but I'm not particularly happy with the way the RAR file is referenced. The jboss.xml packaged with the MDB for example, currently looks like this: <jboss> <enterprise-beans> <message-driven> <ejb-name>testBean1</ejb-name> <resource-adapter-name>test1.ear#thirdparty-1.0.rar</resource-adapter-name> </message-driven> </enterprise-beans> </jboss> While this is generally working fine, it will break when the EAR file is renamed to "test2.ear". Is there a way to reference the embedded RAR file without hard-coding the containing archive's name?

It's just that I'd like to refine my question during my investigation and it's hard to do it in stackoverflow structure on the same question (maybe on purpose). Anyway, in continuation to this thread http://stackoverflow.com/questions/2843218/problem-configure-jboss-to-work-with-jndi2 I discovered that when running an application that is deployed on my JBoss 4.2.3.GA, when I perform: Context initialContext = new InitialContext(); Object dataSource = initialContext.lookup("java:/DefaultDS"); I get null as a return value even though DefaultDS is the default datasource that comes with Jboss installation. and generally, how come initialContext return null value? if the datasource is not found it should throw NamingException and in other case it should return real object. What can I do with null? isn't it a bad error handling of javax.naming.InitialContext ???

• JBoss, exploded jar vs compact jar.

  Hi, I am working on Java 1.6, JBoss 5.1, EJB 3, and Hibernate 2. Every time I deploy the ear, if the jar is a compact one (non-exploded), application doesn't work. However when I explode the jar and then add it to the ear, the app works fine. Tried restarting Jboss, doesn't help. The ear refers to numerous external jars; would the order of loading the jars be an issue? How can I make JBoss load external jars followed by the app jars? Thx. WM.
