  • C# parsing txt files IF name format is desired format

    OK, I have txt files that I am parsing and saving into a sql db. The names are formatted like R306025COMP_272A4075_20090929_080159.txt However, there are a select few (out of thousands of files) with names that are formatted differently (particularly files that were generated as tests), example R306025COMP_SU2_TestBottom_20090915_101441.txt The reason this causes a problem for me is that I am using Split('_')[1,2,etc] to extract the R number, the 272A4075 portion, and the 20090929 (date) portion. When the application comes across the oddly named files, it fails because it is trying to parse 'TestBottom' as a date and inserts 'SU2' instead of the 272 number. Basically I want the app to recognize that if the file's name is not formatted like my first example, skip it. Any advice?

    I have a txt plain file that has a list of numbers. One number per line, like: 978-972-722-649-8 978-972-722-646-7 978-972-722-627-6 978-972-722-625-2 978-972-722-594-1 etc. This list is on a file called file.txt, was created and saved on TextEdit using Western (ISO Latin 1) encoding. Now I am trying to use Applescript to read this file and transform it on a list. I have this script set myDirectory to path to desktop folder as string set myFile to myDirectory & "file.txt" try set open_file to ¬ open for access file myFile without write permission set myList to read open_file using delimiter return close access open_file on error try close access file open_file end try end try after running this script, myList contains just ONE item and this item is "97" (I suppose that is the first two numbers of the first entry).     So what I'm trying to do is write a script or CRON job (Linux- CentOS) to export the usernames listed in my wordpress database to a simple .txt file with just on username per line. So with the picture, I would like the .txt file to read like this: Sir_Fluffulus NunjaX007 (Except with all the username in the user_login column.) See screenshot at: http://i.stack.imgur.com/lZQai.png I have found how to export the entire table to a CVS file, but that contains about 10+ fields (Columns) that I DO NOT what to show up in this text file. Can anyone point me in the right direction on how to do this? If it helps, this is going to be for exporting users that have signed up on our website (Wordpress) to a whitelist.txt file for Minecraft. Thanks!

  • Outlook receives winmail.txt attachment instead of Excel, PowerPoint or Word attachments from Lotus notes senders

    Ok so the title pretty much says it all. We are offering a Hosted Exchange solution for our customer. Everything is working fine except for one customer complaining that he is receiving winmail.dat or winmail.txt attachments instead of the actual Word Excel or PowerPoint attachments he should be receiving, only when these messages come from a specific European senders, that is using Lotus Notes. I know that usually the problem is coming from Outlook senders to other mail clients, but this is not the first they inform me of this but I can't find anything on the matter so far. Has anyone ever gotten and solved this problem? If not, does anyone have any idea regarding this? I had solved this problem a few months ago, by upgrading Outlook to SP2 and then uninstalling it using the Service Pack removing tool of Microsoft. It seems that only the latest SP1 version could work but not the SP2. The problem is that now nothing is working at all. Thank you for your help, Philippe

  • Blocking yandex.ru bot

    I want to block all request from yandex.ru search bot. It is very traffic intensive (2GB/day). I first blocked one C class IP range, but it seems this bot appear from different IP ranges. For example: spider31.yandex.ru - 77.88.26.27 spider79.yandex.ru - 95.108.155.251 etc.. I can put some deny in robots.txt but not sure if it respect this. I am thinking of blocking a list of IP ranges. Can somebody suggest some general solution.

Now I know how the underlying programming instructions would be written, but what I don't understand is how those intructions are followed by the robot. For example, if I wrote this code: object=Robot.ScanSurroundings(300,400); if (Objects.isEatable(object)) { Robot.moveLeftArm(300,400); Robot.pickObject(object); } How would this program be followed by the CPU in a way that would make the robot do the physical action of looking to the left, moving his arm, and such? Is it done primarily in binary language/ASM? Lastly, where would i go if I wanted to learn how to create a robot?

When i set the initializeData to c:\, it doesn't write at all.   • JBoss Clustered Service that sends emails from txt file

    I need a little push in the right direction. Here's my problem: I have to create an ultra-reliable service that sends email messages to clients whose addresses are stored in txt file on FTP server. Single txt file may contain unlimited number of entries. Most often the file contains about 300,000 entries. Service exposes interface with just two simple methods: TaskHandle sendEmails(String ftpFilePath); ProcessStatus checkProcessStatus(TaskHandle taskHandle); Method sendEmails() returns TaskHandle by which we can ask for ProcessStatus. For such a service to be reliable clustering is necessary. Processing single txt file might take a long time. Restarting one node in a cluster should have no impact on sending emails. We use JBoss AS 4.2.0 which comes with a nice HASingletonController that ensure one instance of service is running at given time. But once a fail-over happens, the second service should continue work from where the first one stopped. How can I share state between nodes in a cluster in such a way that leaves no possibility of sending some emails twice?

    Hello, I recently designed a referral game website for the fun of it. There's a simple MySQL user system with a email verification. It's using the UserCake user management system. On top of this i added a php page that the user could give to "victims" that when they visit it they get "infected" and can infect other users or "victims". This page uses GET to get the username from the url. I have a folder that when a user registers it creates a file with 4 digits and then the username. (ex; 0000Username.txt) All the numbers are the same, it's just so that if a user discovers the folder they won't be able to find the files. There is also a txt file in the same format with IPS in the name. (ex; 0000IPSUsername.txt) The file when visited gets the username from the url, then checks if the text file for that username exists. If the username is present in the url, and a valid user it opens the IPS file and adds the IP of the visitor, then opens the user text file, takes the value and adds one to it, and saves. At the end it makes the difference between saying "You are infected, Username has infected (amount) people." or just you have been infected. Now to what i need! I need to add a hi-scores to the website so people can compete to be the one with the most "infections". I thought i could use readdir to get a list of the files and open them with the value in an array, but i need it to also strip the username from the file name. It would be best if it just saves to a text file like "Username | value" because then i can add echo's of the html tags and have it include the file in the page i want it to be one.     Regards, SO I am new to python and Perl. I have been trying to solve a simple problem and getting tied in knots with syntax. I hope someone has the time and patience to help. I have a 25mb file in ".txt" format which contains news-wire articles going back to 1970. Each news story is concatenated to the next, with only the "Copyright" statement to delimit. Each news story starts with "Item XX of XXX DOCUMENTS". There are certain metadata that are repeated throughout, I will use these for tagging later on. I wish to split this 25mb file into separate .txt files, each containing one news story (i.e. the text between "DOCUMENTS" and "Copyright", saving each with a different name (obviously). I am trying to 1 ) open the file... 2) iterate over lines in the file checking for the eof delimiter, and if it is not present writing the line to a list 3)write that list to a seperate small file.
