In other words, how to emulate xml data storage with html as semantically as possible. Some various solutions that I've seen mentioned in passing are custom DTD, custom attributes with xhtml, early adoption of html5 and its data- attribute. Now, I'm looking for some tangible material that goes in depth with these concepts.

    Should we always try to not to give "height" to elements in XHTML through CSS? if yes the i think min-height would be better idea instead of fixed height.     I want to populate span tags for all text nodes between the self closing tags s1 and s2 having the same id.If the transformation of the input to the output form requires the list of ids of the s1 , s2 tag pairs say 1, 2 etc i can assume that it is in place in any form if required.The input can have any structure and not exactly the same as seen in the sample input. It can have any number of s1, s2 tag pairs but each pair will have a unique id. Hope i am clear. How can this be achieved using XSL?     Hi all, I'm looking to revamp our mobile site with something simple for phones below the ambiguous smart phone category and something a little more interesting for the phones above this category. I'm not interested in WAP/WML for this project. I'm building a ASP.Net 4 MCV 2 app and using MBDF What I'd like to know is how best to define this differentiation when using MBDF? Screen size, Javascript, SpportsTouchScreen etc. are all in MBDF along with others but I'm not sure where to draw the line and where the data is most accurate for the broad number of devices. What do those of you out there developing for this spread of hardware & software split on? Thanks, Denis P.S. I've done my research on xHTML MP1.0 - 1.2 and the best practises for implementation to ensure broad coverage but I don't want to restrict the newer phones out there to what the base line can see.

  • Subnav "active" when it shouldn't be.

    http://wilwaldon.com/itsbroken/templateleftnav.php As you can see on the left navigation the link for Template 01 is highlighted green. The link underneath is also highlighted green. I think the problem lies with the initial LI controlling the ul underneath somehow. I need to keep the xhtml formatted exactly how it is right now and only change the CSS to fix this problem. I'd appreciate any help you may be able to point me in the right direction, I'm pretty stuck at this point. Thank you in advance!
