  On Learn C++, they wrote this to free memory: int *pnValue = new int; // dynamically allocate an integer *pnValue = 7; // assign 7 to this integer delete pnValue; pnValue = 0; My question is: "Is the last statement needed to free the memory correctly, completly?" I thought that the pointer *pnValue was still on the stack and new doesn't make any sense to the pointer. And if it is on the stack it will be cleaned up when the application leaves the scope (where the pointer is declared in), isn't it?

  I want to add an entire medical dictionary to my android (Moto Droid). I would like to be able to send text messages and have the medical words be in the predictable text. I've been trying to write a small app that would accomplish this, but everything I try the app crashes on startup. I've never written an app for a mobile platform so that is a first for me. • Deleted nib still displayed when controller is pushed

  I have an application with a UINavcontroller under a tab bar controller. To create the navigation model I want, I push a container UIView object onto the stack to manage additional views(Thanks Frank). When I created the container class, an associated nib file was created along with it. I at first used that nib file, but it turned out it was better not to. So I deleted the nib (and selected 'also move to trash'). The problem is that it still shows up when I push its view controller onto the stack. I have tried emptying the cache in xcode and restarting xcode. What am I missing?

  I have existing tables - I have following datatables : ActivityTable(Key ActivityId) - which lists the identifier for various activity ProcessTable (identified by ProcessId) - which lists down which activites(ActivityId) are to be carried out along with their order(StepNum). Some of the activities are marked constant with in a process, that is they will have same data, ir-respective of there run environment. RunTable(Key RunConfigurationId) - that identifies the project name and Process Id Then data for each activity is stored is stored in their individual tables Activity_A, Activity_B,Activity_C so on it uses a combination of RunConfigurationId,ProcessId and stepNum. For the activities which are constant we use a RunConfigurationId= -100. Can anybody help me out how I can map something like this in classes using inheritence regards

  Hello! Think there might be something about this MVP approach I have completely misunderstood. Currently I am struggling to apply the MVP pattern to the part of my application consisting of a StackLayoutPanel (accordion). To me it seems natural to have a presenter and a view per stack... but how do I allow the different presenters to react when the user switch the state of the stack panel? If someone could sketch an application of the MVP pattern in the case of an accordion application I would be really, really grateful!   I've been racking my brain about how to do this in one query without PHP code. In a nutshell, I have a table that records email activity. For the sake of this example, here is the data: recipient_id activity date 1 delivered 2011-08-30 1 open 2011-08-31 2 delivered 2011-08-30 3 delivered 2011-08-24 3 open 2011-08-30 3 open 2011-08-31 The goal: I want to display to users a single number that tells how many recipients open their email within 24 hours. E.G. "Users that open their email within 24 hours: 13 Readers" In the case of the sample data, above, the value would be "1". (Recipient one was delivered an email and opened it the next day. Recipient 2 never opened it and recipient 3 waited 5 days.) Can anyone think of a way to express the goal in a single query? Reminder: In order to count, the person must have a 'delivered' tag and at least one 'open' tag. Each 'open' tag only counts once per recipient.

  So, I noticed that I can organize apps into folders (HTC Incredible). However these folders are fairly limited in their capabilities. I want to implement an activity that extends the "base" folder activity (at the very least I want to add the ability to rearrange items in folders), but I can't figure out the class name... So, what's the name of the class that is used when adding a "New Folder" to the Home screen? PS I did take a look at the Android developer website. But the discussion there revolves mostly around content providers. I assume that's not quite what I need since I'd have to create a separate content provider for each new folder, or am I misunderstanding something?

• VB.Net 2008 IDE hanging - MSVB7.dll eating 100% CPU when editing code

  I am having a problem with msvb7.dll eating 50%+ cpu on my dual core system. This usually lasts 10-30 seconds or so, during which time the IDE is non-responsive. This occurs when I do pretty much anything in the text editor, and can be replicated by simply adding blank lines to a function, and then deleting them. Or pasting some code. Or... lotsa stuff. SP1 installed I had DevExpress' refactor/coderush, components, and codeit.right installed, but have removed all 3 of them. (I had installed the latest version of Refactor Pro! (9.3.4), perhaps the day before) I have tried a VS.NET Repair. There is a kb that referenced some cpu destroying with vb, but it was included in SP1 Also: The solution consists of ~30 VB projects and 2 C# projects 8 other developers aren't having any issues with this (or at least not the SAME issues, we all have em) Clean get from TFS was done Project builds properly, can can even debug. This doesn't seem to happen on really small solutions, but perhaps it does and it just goes away super quick. Any clues at all as to what might be causing this, or how to fix it? I REALLY don't want to lose another day uninstalling and reinstalling and patching and so on =) If that even fixes it.
