  • Undefined control sequence at first line of a document

I didn't even edit it, I received it like this. However, if I want to make a pdf, it gives me the undefined control sequence error at the first line... What is wrong??

    There is a web service running on tomcat on a server. It is built on Java Servlet. It is listening others to call itself on a SSL enabled http port. so its web service adreess looks like: https://172.29.12.12/axis/services/XYZClient?wsdl On the other hand I want to connect the web service above from a windows application which is built on .NET frame work. Finally, when I want to connect the web service from my computer; I get some specific erros; Firstly I get; Proxy authentication error; then I added some new line to my code; Dim cr As System.Net.NetworkCredential = New System.Net.NetworkCredential("xname", "xsurname", "xdomainname") Dim myProxy As New WebProxy("http://mar.xxxyyy.com", True) myProxy.Credentials = cr Secondly, after this modifications It says that bad request. I did not get over this error. Moreover I did try to connect the web server on the same computer. I copied my executable program to the computer where the web service runs. The error was like; The underlying connection was closed: Could not establish trust relationship for SSL/TLS secure channel PS: When I try to connect to web service by using Internet Explorer; I see firstly some warnings about accepting an unknown certificate and I click take me to web service an I get there clearly. I want to know what are the basic elements to connect a web service, could you please tell me the requirements that I have to use on my windows project. regards bk

  • Object Oriented Perl interface to read from and write to a socket

    I need a perl client-server implementation as a wrapper for a server in C#. A perl script passes the server address and port number and an input string to a module, this module has to create the socket and send the input string to the server. The data sent has to follow ISO-8859-1 encoding. On receiving the information, the client has to first receive 3 byte, then the next 8 bytes, this has the length of the data that has to be received next.. so based on the length the client has to read the next data. each of the data that is read has to be stored in a variable and sent another module for further processing.   • Are the built-in images in iPhone documented, and is there a list of their names somewhere?

    I discovered somewhat by accident that if you make a UIButton in Interface Builder and type in Plus in the image field, a + image appears for the button. A similar result comes from typing Minus. I am wondering if this is a bug, or if there is some way the poor programmers can access the built-in general GUI images from other apple apps, such as the green +, the red -, the detail disclosure chevron, the big red "Delete Contact" or similarly styled button, etc. Has anyone else encountered this, or know where to access these things in Xcode? It makes sense to me that they should be usable, cause the Apple HIG seems to be all about making things recognizable and intuitive, and using them the way other apps use them.

  • Download office document without the web server trying to render it

    I'm trying to download an InfoPath template that's hosted on SharePoint. If I hit the url in internet explorer it asks me where to save it and I get the correct file on my disk. If I try to do this programmatically with WebClient or HttpWebRequest then I get HTML back instead. How can I make my request so that the web server returns the actual xsn file and doesn't try to render it in html. If internet explorer can do this then it's logical to think that I can too. I've tried setting the Accept property of the request to application/x-microsoft-InfoPathFormTemplate but that hasn't helped. It was a shot in the dark.

  • Get the tags of a document in Subversion

    I was wondering if there is a way to easily see the tags of a specific file in Subversion using the command line and/or TortoiseSVN. Most version control system allow you to see easily access the tags/labels of a file. When using TortoiseSVN I can do this when I access the "Revision Graph". This however is a operation that takes around 44 minutes. I consider this very hard work just to know what tags have been created for the file. Is there another way to do it? Or is there no way to instantaneously access tag information. Thanks, Onno

  • Document management, SCM ?

    Hello, This might not be a hard core programming question, but it's related to some of the tools used by programmers I suspect. So we're a bunch of people each with a bunch of documents and a bunch of different computers on a bunch of operating systems (well, only 2, linux and windows). The best way these documents can be stored/managed is if they were available offline (the laptop might not always be online) but also synchronized between all the machines. Having a server with extra reliable storage be a "base repository" seems like a good idea to me. Using a SCM comes to my mind and I've tried Subversion, and it seems to be a good thing that it uses a centralized repository - but: When checking out the total size of the checkout is roughly double the original size. Big files or big repositories seem to slow it down. Also I've tried rsync, which might work - but it's a bit rough when it comes to the potential conflict. Finally I've tried Unison (which is a wrapping of rsync, I think) and while it works it becomes horribly slow for the big directories we have here since it has to scan everything. So the question is - is there a SCM tool out there that is actually practial to use for a big bunch of both small and big files? If thats a NO - does anyone know other tools that do this job?   • MCV/MVP Patterns and Applications that interface with Hardware (DAQ/PLC/etc)

    I've been reading a lot about the MCV and MVP patterns for use with UI and it seems like a really nice powerful way to handle user interfaces. I am - however - having a difficult time deciding how this could integrate into a system where data in the model is created from a Data Acquisition System or Serial/Ethernet devices. There is also the added step that 70% of application interaction is performed by a PLC instead of a live user. It seems that for apps that just read/write & manipulate information from a database this works great, but how does does hardware and automation fit into these patterns? Is it as simple as another controller (for lack of a better term) that interacts with hardware that manipulates data and writes to a model? Maybe I am over thinking this or thinking too simply, so any advice would be great. I'm not quite sure where I'm going with this, so if something doesn't make sense or I was too vague leave me a comment. Thanks!

  • Sorting NSTableColumn contents

    Hey, I have a problem with sorting NSTableColumn contents. In my NSTableView there are three columns: File, Size, Path. The contents are stored in NSMutableArray. Each object in this array is a NSDictionary containing three keys: file, size and path - value for each is a NSString. In Interface Builder, in each Table Column's attributes I can choose sorting options: Selector: IB entered "compare:" which I think is ok, because I compare NSStrings. Sort Key - and that's the problem I think - I don't know what to enter here. Any clues? If you've got questions about my code, please ask.

  • Is it good practice to put private API in the .m files and public API in .h files in Cocoa?

    Many of my classes in my current project have several properties and methods that are only ever called from within the class itself. Also, they might mess with the working of the class depending on the current state of the class. Currently, all these interfaces are defined in the main interface declaration in the .h files. Is it considered good practice to put the “private” methods and properties at the top of the .m files? This won't ever affect anything since I am very likely the only person ever to look at this source code, but of course it would be interesting to know for future projects.

  • Is there any ready-made calendar control for iPhone apps?

    I am building an applicaiton for the iPhone that will display upcoming and past events. I settled for a list view, but then I realized that a calendar (just like the one displayed in the "month" view in the built-in Calendar application) would be a best match (that is, this one). However, the iPhone Human Interface Guidelines just mentions the Date Picker, not the calendar, so I believe there is nothing like that out of the box. Is that true? If so, does anyone know of a third-party control that could be used? (I could write one myself, but I'd rather pick up something ready, since this is a departure on the original project plans).   • How to implement image map type interface for a game board in Java 6

    My group project at school is to implement a style of monopoly in which students can buy courses and land on various squares and move around the board. This is not a regular square board so we were wondering if anyone had any ideas on how we would implement an image map or something like it to create many clickable regions not in a perfect square. I have attached the image of the game board. Just a way to start is needed, not lots of code or anything as we all know java pretty well. If anyone has any ideas that would be great.   • removing phone number from a document.

    Hi, I've got a challenge that I am hoping that the SO community is able to help me with. I trying to parse a lot of html documents in my PHP application to remove personal details, such as names, addresses and phone numbers. I can remove most of these details without too much trouble, however the phone number is a real problem for me. My idea is to take the text from these documents and the use a regex to identify the phone numbers and replace them with another value such as 'xxxx'. I've got 2 regex that I am using one for UK landline numbers and one for UK cell/mobile numbers. However when I try and run them against the text it just returns an empty string. I am using the following preg_replace code: $pattens = array( '/^(((\+44\s?\d{4}|\(?0\d{4}\)?)\s?\d{3}\s?\d{3})|((\+44\s?\d{3}|\(?0\d{3}\)?)\s?\d{3}\s?\d{4})|((\+44\s?\d{2}|\(?0\d{2}\)?)\s?\d{4}\s?\d{4}))(\s?\#(\d{4}|\d{3}))?$/', '/^(\+44\s?7\d{3}|\(?07\d{3}\)?)\s?\d{3}\s?\d{3}$/' ); $replace = array('xxxxx', 'xxxxx'); //do the search for the numbers. $updatedContents = preg_replace($pattens, $replace, $htmlContents); At the moment this is causing me a lot of head scratching as I thought that I had this nailed, but at the moment I can't see what's wrong??   • Why can't I expose an interface in a .NET asmx web service?

    I have a .NET web service (using asmx...have not upgraded to WCF yet) that exposes the following: public class WidgetVersion1 : IWidget {} public class WidgetVersion2 : IWidget {} When I attempt to bind to the web service, I get the following serialization error: Cannot serialize member WidgetVersion1 of type IWidget because it is an interface. I have tried adding various attributes to the IWidget interface (XmlIgnore, SoapIgnore, NonSerialized), but they are not valid on an interface. Does anyone know why I am unable to expose the interface? I assume WSDL does not support interfaces, but couldn't .NET get around this by simply not serializing the interface? Are there any ways around this apart from removing the IWidget interface from the WidgetVersion1 and WidgetVersion2 class definitions?
