  • stylesheet_link_tag producing absolute links instead of relative

    I set up facebooker to tunnel my Ruby on Rails application. The issue is that I would like to test locally. That is, I don't want to have to start a tunnel every time I want to see my changes. Right now, when I start the application using ruby script/server (not calling rake facebooker:tunnel:background_start beforehand), links created by helpers (e.g., stylesheet_link_tag, javascript_include_tag, image_tag) are prepended with my tunnlr address: http://web1.tunnlr.com:myPort/. (For example, a CSS link looks like this in the page source: http://web1.tunnlr.com:myPort//stylesheets/appName.css?1234567890.) I don't want that functionality; I can't see my CSS or JavaScript changes without having to start the tunnel first. I want the links to be relative, not absolute. So, stylesheet_link_tag should produce /stylesheets/appName.css?1234567890. Does anyone know why it's doing that in the first place and how to fix it? Thanks in advance.

  • Wunderground and UTC Offset

    I am consuming the international weather forecasts via Wunderground's XML API: http://wiki.wunderground.com/index.php/API_-_XML Looking at an output for Kabul, Afghanistan for instance: http://api.wunderground.com/auto/wui/geo/ForecastXML/index.xml?query=OAKB I notice that there is no UTC offset. The closest that I can see is this: <tz_short>AFT</tz_short> Which identifies the current TimeZone is AFT. The problem I see is that there is no universally accepted time zone abbreviations, so I cannot take these abbreviations and look up and offset from C#'s TimeZoneInfo objects. Is there a listing of Wunderground's Time Zones abbreviations/names/offsets so I can map their Time Zones to the TimeZoneInfo objects, or is there a better way to get this information? I will need to use the TimeZoneInfo so I can calculate daylight savings time for different locations internationally.

  • Problem searching a NSMutableArray

    Basically, I have a UISearchBar searching an NSMutableArray of stories that make up an RSS feed, and when you select a story, it loads in my app's UIWebView. It's difficult to explain, but I have a list of entries 1, 2, 3, and 4 and you search for '4'. 4 will be the first entry in the now-filtered list of data, right? You'd think that by selecting 4, it would load in the UIWebView. Well, the app seems to not recognize that you're selecting the first entry in a filtered list of data, and instead thinks that you're selecting the first entry in the unfiltered array of data, so it loads entry 1. Everything looks right in my code, but obviously it isn't. I know it's a confusing problem, but I hope I made it somewhat clear.   • How do you do A/B switching in a web app? (for deploying updates)

    I currently have a mysite.com (A) which points to /public_html/ and a dev.mysite.com (B) which I created a /dev_html/ for that. I cloned the site but now I need a way of switching between them without having to copy all the files from one dir to another and without bringing the site down. I just want to switch the live site to B and then work on A, and when I finish, switch the live site to A and work on B. Is there a simple way? I'm using cPanel X and cPanel 11 (WHM VPS). Also, both can interact with the same database so that's not an issue as I'm not changing any database structure. Only the php/js/img files need to switch.

    Hello, I have an array set inside a velocity template that contains some paths. The idea is to put a few "default" .js/.css files that 90% of the pages will use in this array. However, the other pages will still have to be able to add/delete values from this array, in case there are no linked files at all, or I need to add some.   • Shadow maps unable to properly project shadows in some situations?

    In the shadow map sample provided by Microsoft I've noticed an issue where shadows are not properly projected when thin geometry is projected at high angles, see here the shadows being projected, notice the poles from the lights are not projected: http://imgur.com/QwOBa.png And in this screenshot we see things from the lights perspective, not ethe poles are clearly visible: http://imgur.com/k2woZ.png So two questions really, is this an actual bug or a limitation with shadow mapping and if it's a bug how can I fix it? The source is directly from the Microsoft DirectX Sample Browser 'ShadowMap' sample from July 2004, the sample browser is the latest August 2009 one.

  • (resolved) empty response body in ajax (or 206 Partial Content)

    Hi guys, I'm feeling completely stupid because I've spent two hours solving task which should be very simple and which I solved many times before. But now I'm not even sure in which direction to dig. I fail to fetch static content using ajax from local servers (Apache and Mongrel). I get responses 200 and 206 (depending on the server), empty response text (although Content-Length header is always correct), firebug shows request in red. Javascript is very generic, I'm getting same results even here: http://www.w3schools.com/ajax/tryit.asp?filename=tryajax_first (just change document location to 'http://localhost:3000/whatever') So, it's probably not the cause.   • WPF binding behaviour different when bound property is declared as interface vs class type?

    This started with weird behaviour that I thought was tied to my implementation of ToString(), and I asked this question: http://stackoverflow.com/questions/2916068/why-wont-wpf-databindings-show-text-when-tostring-has-a-collaborating-object It turns out to have nothing to do with collaborators and is reproducible. When I bind Label.Content to a property of the DataContext that is declared as an interface type, ToString() is called on the runtime object and the label displays the result. When I bind TextBlock.Text to the same property, ToString() is never called and nothing is displayed. But, if I change the declared property to a concrete implementation of the interface, it works as expected. Is this somehow by design? If so, any idea why?   • Reformat a YouTube URL using jQuery

    I am using the YouTube Channel jQuery script to pull in data from a YouTube channel. Then I'm using an iFrame on the page to display the videos without leaving the site. The only problem is that the URLs the Channel plugin is pulling in don't quite work with my iFrame concept. They load the whole YouTube page instead of just the video. I figured out a workaround that basically I reformat the URL and tell it to display fullscreen and to autoplay will do what I would like it to do. The URLs are currently formatted like http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xxxxxxxxx&feature=youtube_gdata and I need them to be rewritten as http://www.youtube.com/v/xxxxxxxxx?fs=1&autoplay=1 I've seen a couple of similar topics here on SO, but given my limited jQuery and regex talents I wasn't able to get anything to work for my purposes.

    I'm having hard time getting my head wrapped around this one - and it should be trivial. I would like to redirect one URL with a specific query string to another URL. I want to send any requests that contain the query string in the URL http://mysite.com/index.php?option=com_user&view=register To: http://mysite.com/index.php?option=com_regme&view=form&regme=4&random=0&Itemid=6 If they add anything to the end of the first URL, it should still go to the second URL so that they cannot bypass the redirection. Nothing in the first query string needs to be preserved and passed to the second - all I want to do is change the URL completely. I'm tearing my hair out trying to get this to work yet it should be trivial. Suggestions? Thanks, -Tim

  • How do I open a web browser from a .NET Program? Process.Start() isn't working?

    I have a URL and I want to launch it in the default browser. I've tried two methods: Process.Start("http://stackoverflow.com"); ... and the one detailed in this other question using ShellExecute. In both cases I get the error: Windows cannot find 'http://stackoverflow.com'. Make sure you typed the name correctly, and then try again. It shouldn't be trying to open it as a file though... from what I understand, it should recognize it as a URL and open it in the default browser. What am I missing? By the way: OS = Vista, and .NET = 3.5 EDIT: According to this MS KB article, since Process.Start sets the UseShellExecute by default, it should launch the default browser.

  • Google groups not finding discussion thread but regular google search does?

    I'm having a problem with google groups and finding my own discussion threads. I go to the google group (in my case Android developer group) web view and try to search for my thread by entering the extact title of my thread. But it doesn't appear in the search results. On the other hand, when I search for the same title in the regular google web search, I get the thread right on top of the result list. I thought it might take a while until the groups index all new threads, but still after a few days, it still wouldn't show up. I am running the version of the exe that I found inside of C:\Windows\Microsoft.NET\Framework\v4.0.21006 There is also C:\Windows\Microsoft.NET\Framework\v3.0\Windows Communication Foundation that has (what I assume is) the same exe in it, and I can use it just fine. I've tried to un-install the 3.0 version before installing the 4.0 version, but I am still getting the same warning and failure. Has anyone successfully done this with .net 4.0?

    Hi, Currently I have an Silverlight application that when run on Firefox browser (ver 3.6) the entire contents of the Silverlight application shifts a little, and also the scrollbars on both the bottom and the side appear when I first use it. This does not happen in IE 8. How can I fix this in Firefox so it doesn't happen? The project type I created was the "Silverlight 3 Application + Website" via Expression Blend 3.   • json encodes aray

    Okay I have been struggling with this for hours. What I am doing is creating array of what I call objects that can be moved around on a calendar. Below is my code $year = date('Y'); $month = date('m'); echo json_encode(array( array( 'id' => 111, 'title' => "Event3", 'start' => "$year-$month-10", 'url' => "http://domain.com/" ), array( 'id' => 222, 'title' => "Event2", 'start' => "$year-$month-20", 'end' => "$year-$month-22", 'url' => "http://domain.com/" ) )); Now here is my problem. I need to loop through a mysql database to retrieve the information for each object. For some reason I can't get this to work. Please help Thanks Stan
