  • Persist data when the table was not mapped (JPA EclipseLink)

    Hi everybody I need some help in persisting data into a table that has not been mapped... The issue is that the database we have has a table which all of its columns are foreign keys so by mapping the whole database all of the tables are correctly mapped. However that table called "category" is not mapped. The way in which we can browse the data is by passing for the table I mentioned using the @jointable annotation which was set by the system in the other tables with which "category" has a relation. So we can go ahead and using the collections and perform a query. But the issue comes when I want to persist data into that table because there´s no any entity. We tried to persist through the collections but no luck. Then I have just tried by creating the entity with its PK and Facade all by hand. However when I try to persist using the Merge method the system tries to perform an Insert when it is supposed to perform an Update. So obviously it returns an error. Does anybody have an idea on this situation? Thanks.-

So I would do this var cells = $('#tbl :checked').parents('tr').children('td'); So lets assume only one checkbox can be checked(so no jqueyr foreach loop). So now say I wanted to get the 2nd table cells value I would just go var secondCell = $(cells[1]).html(); The thing with this though it makes the code so brittle.     Hi, I much prefer using this 'embedded' style inserts in a pl/sql block (opposed to the execute immediate style dynamic sql - where you have to delimit quotes etc). -- a contrived example PROCEDURE CreateReport( customer IN VARCHAR2, reportdate IN DATE ) BEGIN -- drop table, create table with explicit column list CreateReportTableForCustomer; INSERT INTO TEMP_TABLE VALUES ( customer, reportdate ); END; / The problem here is that oracle checks if 'temp_table' exists and that it has the correct number of colunms and throws a compile error if it doesn't exist. So I was wondering if theres any way round that?! Essentially I want to use a placeholder for the table name to trick oracle into not checking if the table exists.

    I have created a table in my Ruby on Rails application that I am building called Tags. It is a blog application so I allow the user to associate tags with a post and do this through a :posts, :has_many = tags and Tag belongs_to :post association. Now that I have my Tags table I am trying to see how I would render the view such that it displays the tag and tag count. (it should be noted that I am trying to render this in the /views/posts/index.html.erb file). For instance, if there are 10 entries in the Tag table for tag_name Sports. How can I display Sports (10) in the view. I am not looking to do this for a specific tag but rather, somehow search the table, combine like tags and display a list of all tags with counts next to them. (I really want these to be a link to a list of posts that contain that tag but I learned early on only to ask one question at a time). Hope that makes sense.

    When I place an image followed by text in a table cell, the vertical alignment of the text shifts down compared to text in adjacent cells. I tried using a line-height CSS property, but it didn't seem to have an affect. In the following example, I need "123 Description" to be flush with "cell one." Also, there is a space between the image and "123" by default.     I have a certain predefined database structure that I am stuck with. The question is whether this structure is OK for ORM or I whether should add a processing layer that would create a more convenient structure every time something is inserted into the original DB. To simplify, here's what it kind of looks like. I have a person table: PersonId Name And I have a properties table: PersonId PropertyType PropertyValue So, for person John Doe... (1, 'John Doe') ...I could have three properties: (1, 'phone', '555-55-55'), (1, 'email', '[email protected]), (1, 'type', 'employee') By using ORM I would like to get a "person" object that would have properties "name", "phone", "email", "type". Can Propel do that? How efficient is it? Is it a better idea to create a table with columns "phone", "email", "type" and fill it automatically as new rows are inserted into the properties table?

It seems like I have no problem querying tables in my schema but I get: Error: ORA-00942: table or view does not exist when trying trying to query tables outside my schema. The documentation seems to elude to this notion, but it's not 100% clear to me.

    I'm having trouble with mysql. I can read and write, but now I want to add some fields to a table. I run this command: ALTER TABLE Pubs ADD COLUMN issue tinyint AFTER volume; but get this error message: ERROR 7 (HY000): Error on rename of './user_acct/Pubs.MYI' to './user_acct/#sql2-cb0-76f2.MYI' (Errcode: 13) I created this table a few months ago, modified it a little bit, so it worked then. I can still update and insert items, but I just can't modify the table anymore. Any help would be appreciated. --Dave

  • Calling class in Java after editing file used in as source for table

    I'm currently working on a project, I'll try to subrscibe first. I save data into text file, that I use as a source for browser of that data. The browser is based on table that contains the data. I have to rewrite the source file everytime I delete or edit data. That's where the problem comes in. After deleting or editing data I call a method to create the table again, but the table never creates. Is it possibly made by editing the file and calling the method right after that? If I restart my app the table is successfully created with right data. Take in note that I don't get any error message.     Hello, I have a problem when upgrading a django and mysql app with south. I've tried to make a sql-based upgrade with the code generated by the django sqlall command and I have a similar problem. Here is the sql code: CREATE TABLE `programmations_basissupport` ( `id` integer AUTO_INCREMENT NOT NULL PRIMARY KEY, `value` numeric(6, 0) NOT NULL ) ALTER TABLE `programmations_concert` ADD `basis_support_id` integer AFTER program_status_id; ALTER TABLE `programmations_concert` ADD CONSTRAINT `basis_support_id_refs_id_1e4ed8d7` FOREIGN KEY (`basis_support_id`) REFERENCES `programmations_basissupport` (`id`); An error is raised when adding the FK constraint: ERROR 1005 (HY000): Can't create table 'apidev_mnl.#sql-106e_632b00a' (errno: 150) Does anybody have an idea? Update: DEFAULT values where missing but even if I add the default='' in the django model, the creation of foreign keys fails. Thanks for your help

    Here is my problem: I have 2 tables Accounts and Transaction Logs. in Accounts table, it has column "Amount" which is a base amount of an account. and in Trans Logs table, it also has column "Amount" which is additional (add or minus to the base amount) amount of the account. and I don't know how to retrieve that base amount to edit it, then save it back to the table. That means I need to get a value of the right column by using Acc_No to find. I'm using DataSet, by the way. i think it should go like this: Dim Amount as Decimal Amount = *the code to retrieve the base amount* Amount = Amount + txtAmount.Text *the code to save the new amount back to Accounts table* Thank you!

And do I need a table for the relationship??
