  • NGINX basic auth only for POST

    Hello, I'm settings up nginx to serve Mercurial repositories. It works when not using basic authentication at all, or when I use basic authentication all over. What I want to do is to just use basic auth on POST requests, so anyone have pull access, but only authenticated users can push. I tried the following, if ($request_method = POST) { auth_basic "Restricted"; auth_basic_user_file /path/to/userfile } However it complains about "auth_basic directive is not allowed here". How can I solve this?

  • Trying to install an old program on Windows XP and getting an error message

    Hello I'm trying to install an older application named headline.exe. I'm getting an error message saying the the program has to end and asking if I want to notify Microsoft. The event logs says "Faulting application _untitled.exe version 1.0.0.1591, faulting module flash6.ocx, version 6.0.88.0, fault address blah blah blah. I uninstalled flash and installed version 6 of Flash and nothing changed. Any thoughts? Thanks

  • Starting from scratch with firefox, but keeping some stuff

    Hello everyone, I run Firefox 3.6 on OS/X. My Profile, along with saved passwords, bookmarks and history has come along with me across 3 different computers, and has been upgrading since 2.0, has had hundreds of addons installed, updated and removed and has even seen some Minefield builds. Not completely surprising, my firefox seems sluggish. I'd like to start from scratch with a clean profile, but I can't do this without my history, bookmarks and saved passwords. How would I go about this?

    Hello there, I recently installed Ubuntu 10.04 LTS through Wubi on Windows XP. I installed it in a partition (say J:) and the installation went fine. I can access my other NTFS partitions directly in Ubuntu without any problem. But lately I just figured that I could not see my J: partition (where I installed Wubi) in my Ubuntu. I need to access it badly. Any idea?

    Hello, I try to configure a file-type item for .axd filetype. There I have troubles with the associated class for this file-type. E.g. I have tried it with "XML-document" (xml-informations are included at the files with .axd) but it does not work. The .axd file will not be opened with the associated application. Now Everything is set and I want to edit grub to set windows 7 as my default os when I run this command gksudo gedit /boot/grub/menu.lst I get an error that No such file or Directory found` then I tried this sudo grub find /boot/grub/stage1 I get an error No File found.
