So I'm been pounding on this problem all day. I've got a LinqDataSource that points to my model and a GridView that consumes it. When I attempt to do an update on the GridView, it does not update the underlying data source. I thought it might have to do with the LinqDataSource, so I added a SqlDataSource and the same thing happens. The aspx is as follows (the code-behind page is empty):
<asp:SqlDataSource ID="SqlDataSource1" runat="server"
ConnectionString="Data Source=devsql32;Initial Catalog=Steam;Persist Security Info=True;"
ProviderName="System.Data.SqlClient"
SelectCommand="SELECT [LangID], [Code], [Name] FROM [Languages]" UpdateCommand="UPDATE [Languages] SET [Code]=@Code WHERE [LangID]=@LangId">
</asp:SqlDataSource>
<asp:GridView ID="_languageGridView" runat="server" AllowPaging="True"
AllowSorting="True" AutoGenerateColumns="False" DataKeyNames="LangId"
DataSourceID="SqlDataSource1">
<Columns>
<asp:CommandField ShowDeleteButton="True" ShowEditButton="True" />
<asp:BoundField DataField="LangId" HeaderText="Id" ReadOnly="True" />
<asp:BoundField DataField="Code" HeaderText="Code" />
<asp:BoundField DataField="Name" HeaderText="Name" />
</Columns>
</asp:GridView>
<asp:LinqDataSource ID="_languageDataSource" ContextTypeName="GeneseeSurvey.SteamDatabaseDataContext" runat="server" TableName="Languages" EnableInsert="True" EnableUpdate="true" EnableDelete="true">
</asp:LinqDataSource>
What in the world am I missing here? This problem is driving me insane.
I'm new to java can someone please explain to me whats wrong with this method:
clas Hello {
public static void main (String[]arg) {
Document.write ("hello world") ;
}}
Is there a way to, given a date, retrieve the season of the year? For any place on the globe?
Is this based on time zone as well as hemisphere?
Note that, In the southern hemisphere that summer is still during the warm months.
EDIT:
To clarify, I am talking about the astronomical seasons.
OK I have read many posts regarding Dual Licensing using MIT and GPL licenses. But Im curious still, as the wording seems to be inclusive. Many of the Dual Licenses state that the software is licensed using "MIT AND GPL". The "AND" is what confuses me.
It seems to me that the word "AND" in the terms, means you will be licensing the product using both licenses. Most of the posts, here on stackoverflow, say you can license the software using one "OR" the other.
JQuery specifically states "OR", whereas JQuery UI specifically States "AND".
Another Instance of the "AND" would be JQGrid.
Im not a lawyer but, it seems to me that a legal interpretation of this would state that use of the software would mean that your using the software under both licenses. Has anyone who has contacted a lawyer gotten clarification or a definitive answer as to what is true? Can you use Dual licensed software products that state "AND" in the terms of agreement under either license?
I'm trying to connect to an oracle database with .net but i get the error:
ERROR [IM002] [Microsoft][ODBC Driver Manager] Data source name not found and no default driver specified
however, when I enter add a new database connection through toolsconnect to database. it works fine. even after copying the connection string which is:
Data Source=source here;Persist Security Info=True;User ID=userhere;Password=pass;Unicode=True
(NOOB disclaimer)
I'm working on a system (a type of map), that is accessed mostly via 3 fields: ID (auto incremented), X coordinate, and Y coordinate.
As it is right now, i have all data on the map, stored in 1 table. Whenever the map display is loaded it simply queries the database for contents in x and y, and the DB gives the data (other fields in the same entry). If an item on the map is doing something, it has a flag saying its doing something, and then has an ID of the action in another table holding that type of 'actions'.
Essentially, for all map data, its stored in 1 table. All actions of a certain type are stored in their own table.
I'm a noob, and i'm wondering what the most effective/efficient structure for such a design? (a map that has items, and each item has stats/actions).
I'm using PHP atm, using standard SQL queries to get my data.
Should i split up the tables so that there are only x number of entries on a table? (coord range limits)? Should it just keep growing and growing?
There's a lot of queries to the table... so just tryin to see what is best :/
I want to add a UISlider to my app programmatically without using the IB.
I am adding a UISlider to my UIViewController using the code below. However I don't see the slider when the view comes up. What am I missing? I am using iPhone SDK 3.1.2.
Appreciate any help.
@synthesize slider;
....
- (void)viewDidLoad {
...
...
slider = [[UISlider alloc] initWithFrame: CGRectMake(0, 480 - 80, 300, 20)];
slider.minimumValue = 0.0;
slider.maximumValue = 100.0;
slider.tag = 0;
slider.value = 50;
slider.continuous = YES;
slider.enabled = YES;
[slider addTarget:selfaction:@selector(handleSlider:)forControlEvents:UIControlEventValueChanged];
self.view addSubview:slider];
In the .h file
...
UISlider *slider;
...
@property (nonatomic, retain) UISlider *slider;
- (void) handleSlider:(id)sender;
I want to be able to attach the windows authentication token without having to include that piece of data on the messages themselves.
I've noticed that TransportMessage has Headers, but how do I get access to that before Send message to server?
Dear friends,
I've been searching for a hosting solution for a grails application.
I've read some very good comments on slicehost, but not much about linode.
could some one with the experiences of either of them share your insights please?
thanks.
What's the quickest and easiest way to convert my json, containing the data of the objects, into actual objects with methods attached?
By way of example, I get data for a fruitbowl with an array of fruit objects which in turn contain an array of seeds thus:
{"fruitbowl": [{
"name": "apple",
"color": "red",
"seeds": []
},{
"name": "orange",
"color": "orange",
"seeds": [
{"size":"small","density":"hard"},
{"size":"small","density":"soft"}
]}
}
That's all nice and good but down on the client we do stuff with this fruit, like eat it and plant trees...
var fruitbowl = []
function Fruit(name, color, seeds){
this.name = name
this.color = color
this.seeds = seeds
this.eat = function(){
// munch munch
}
}
function Seed(size, density){
this.size = size
this.density = density
this.plant = function(){
// grow grow
}
}
My ajax's success routine currently is currently looping over the thing and constructing each object in turn and it doesn't handle the seeds yet, because before I go looping over seed constructors I'm thinking
Is there not a better way?
success: function(data){
fruitbowl.length = 0
$.each(data.fruitbowl, function(i, f){
fruitbowl.push(new Fruit(f.name, f.color, f.seeds))
})
I haven't explored looping over the objects as they are and attaching all the methods. Would that work?
I have a series of points in a GraphicsPath; for our purpose lets assume its the outline of an uppercase B. I want to be able to be able to draw only the bottom portion that would resemble an uppercase L.
I'd like to be able to select a window of points from the GraphicsPath. Is there a handy way to do this without doing point interpolation?
Hi,
We have a system built on seam/richfaces.
There's this webpage where the tables are rendered from dynamic context (from multiple different datasources, and each of them uses a different layout to represent essentially the same real world concept). As a result, this table is binded to a bean, and it's columns/layout are generated from this bean.
Now I need to add a command link on a specific column, equivalent to
<a4j:commandLink value="#{actBean.Ids}" action="#{actBean.genDetails}">
<f:setPropertyActionListener target="#{actBean.Ref}" value="#{cont}"/>
</a4j:commandLink>
in a JSF page.
My question is, how do I do this programmatically?
Thanks!
I've a main method using SchemaUpdate to display at the console what tables to alter/create and it works fine in my Hibernate project:
public static void main(String[] args) throws IOException {
//first we prepare the configuration
Properties hibProps = new Properties();
hibProps.load(Thread.currentThread().getContextClassLoader().getResourceAsStream("jbbconfigs.properties"));
Configuration cfg = new AnnotationConfiguration();
cfg.configure("/hibernate.cfg.xml").addProperties(hibProps);
//We create the SchemaUpdate thanks to the configs
SchemaUpdate schemaUpdate = new SchemaUpdate(cfg);
//The update is executed in script mode only
schemaUpdate.execute(true, false);
...
I'd like to reuse this code in a JPA project, having no hibernate.cfg.xml file (and no .properties file), but a persistence.xml file (autodetected in the META-INF directory as specified by the JPA spec).
I tried this too simple adaptation,
Configuration cfg = new AnnotationConfiguration();
cfg.configure();
but it failed with that exception.
Exception in thread "main" org.hibernate.HibernateException: /hibernate.cfg.xml not found
Has anybody done that?
Thanks.
Over the past year of freelancing, I inherited two web projects, both of them built in PHP, both of them with sensitive information like credit card info, bank info, etc...
In one application, when I typed http://thecompany.com/admin/, and without being asked for a username and password, I saw every user's sensitive information, including credit card numbers, bank account numbers etc...
In another application, I was able to bypass the login screen by simply typing http://the2ndcompany.com/customer.php?user_id=777, and again, without any prompts for username and password, i was able to see user 777's credit card info. I cycled through a few more user_ids (any integer) and saw each person's credit card info.
Is something wrong here? Or is this the quality of work that the "average" programmer produces? Because if this is what the average programmer produces, does that means I'm an...gasp...elite programmer?? No..that can't be right....something doesn't make sense.
So my question is, is it just coincidence that I inherited two applications both of which are dangerously lacking in security? Or are there are a lot of bad PHP programmers out there?
I have two applications each pointing to a different database. when I deploy these applications to Tomcat at the same time, whichever datasource gets loaded first is the same datasource that gets used for both apps. I am using the latest Tomcat and Grails.
I want to show a ContextMenuStrip at the location of a ToolStripStatusLabel in a StatusStrip. Ordinary controls have PointToScreen / PointToClient / etc, but as ToolStripStatusLabel is derived from Component it does not.
Any help would be appreciated.
I have made an AIR 2.0 app that uses NativeProcess so it needs to be packaged as a native installer (.exe) rather than a .air file.
I first tried using Package Assistant but I kept getting an error telling me it cannot load keystore file. so I tried using the command line
I use:
pathToAirSDK>adt -args
but I get an error telling me that "adt" is not a known command so I try:
pathToAirSDK>adt.jar -args
but I get a pop up telling me windows does not know how to open adt.jar files.
Has anyone packaged a native installer for an AIR 2.0 app? How did you do it?
edit
forgot to mention I am doing this in windows using the windows command line.
I'm building my first iOS app, which in theory should be pretty straightforward but I'm having difficulty making it sufficiently bulletproof for me to feel confident submitting it to the App Store.
Briefly, the main screen has a table view, upon selecting a row it segues to another table view that displays information relevant for the selected row in a master-detail fashion. The underlying data is retrieved as JSON data from a web service once a day and then cached in a Core Data store. The data previous to that day is deleted to stop the SQLite database file from growing indefinitely. All data persistence operations are performed using Core Data, with an NSFetchedResultsController underpinning the detail table view.
The problem I am seeing is that if you switch quickly between the master and detail screens several times whilst fresh data is being retrieved, parsed and saved, the app freezes or crashes completely. There seems to be some sort of race condition, maybe due to Core Data importing data in the background whilst the main thread is trying to perform a fetch, but I'm speculating. I've had trouble capturing any meaningful crash information, usually it's a SIGSEGV deep in the Core Data stack.
The table below shows the actual order of events that happen when the detail table view controller is loaded:
Main Thread Background Thread
viewDidLoad
Get JSON data (using AFNetworking)
Create child NSManagedObjectContext (MOC)
Parse JSON data
Insert managed objects in child MOC
Save child MOC
Post import completion notification
Receive import completion notification
Save parent MOC
Perform fetch and reload table view
Delete old managed objects in child MOC
Save child MOC
Post deletion completion notification
Receive deletion completion notification
Save parent MOC
Once the AFNetworking completion block is triggered when the JSON data has arrived, a nested NSManagedObjectContext is created and passed to an "importer" object that parses the JSON data and saves the objects to the Core Data store. The importer executes using the new performBlock method introduced in iOS 5:
NSManagedObjectContext *child = [[NSManagedObjectContext alloc] initWithConcurrencyType:NSPrivateQueueConcurrencyType];
[child setParentContext:self.managedObjectContext];
[child performBlock:^{
// Create importer instance, passing it the child MOC...
}];
The importer object observes its own MOC's NSManagedObjectContextDidSaveNotification and then posts its own notification which is observed by the detail table view controller. When this notification is posted the table view controller performs a save on its own (parent) MOC.
I use the same basic pattern with a "deleter" object for deleting the old data after the new data for the day has been imported. This occurs asynchronously after the new data has been fetched by the fetched results controller and the detail table view has been reloaded.
One thing I am not doing is observing any merge notifications or locking any of the managed object contexts or the persistent store coordinator. Is this something I should be doing? I'm a bit unsure how to architect this all correctly so would appreciate any advice.
My main goal with this question is optimization and faster run time.
After doing lot of processing in the Stored Proc I finally return a count like below:
OPEN cv_1 FOR
SELECT COUNT(*) num_of_members
FROM HOUSEHOLD_MEMBER a,
HOUSEHOLD b
WHERE RTRIM(LTRIM(a.mbr_last_name)) LIKE v_MBR_LAST_NAME || '%'
AND a.number = '01'
AND a.code = v_CODE
AND a.ssn_head = v_SSN_HEAD
AND TO_CHAR( a.mbr_dob, 'MM/DD/YYYY') = v_DOB;
But in my code that is calling the SP does not need the actual count. It just cares that count is greater than 1.
Question:
How can I change this to return just 1 or 0. 1 when count is 0 and 0 when count 1.
Will it be faster to do this rather than returning the whole count?
I'm creating a text editor for a domain specific language. I'm using the WPF RichTextBox as the basic control. I don't know how to gracefully include line numbering. Does anyone know of any examples?
i am trying to use following pattern.
#ifndef TRACER_H
#include "Tracer.h"
#endif
This is statement is added to each file in the code such that tracer.h is added only once.
Still i am getting an error saying multiple objects
Also Tracer.h contains
#ifndef TRACER_H
#define TRACER_H
Hi there.
I've created a couple of shared templates (.xdp) which will be shared among several clients. Obviously, each client has their own logo and I'd like to set the logo upon form generation.
I've managed to change the logo dynamically although I'm not sure if my approach is good.
In the xml datasource I've got this element: <ClientID>SomeNumber</ClientId>
In the form itself I set the image href with this javascript code:
SomeHiddenTextField::calculate
HeaderLogo.value.image.href = $record.ClientID + "_logo.jpg";
I've got the logos stored on the server in the same folder as the shared templates.
Is this an alright approach to load logos dynamically?
I've been trying to achieve the same dynamic behaviour with each client's footer fragment, but I have been unable to figure out how to load these on demand. I could make each footer fragment in to an image but I'd like to avoid it if possible.
Hello,
I am attempting to return a image from a server using Silverlight 3. The server returns the Response stream like this:
context.Response.ContentType = imageFactory.ContentType
imgStream.WriteTo(context.Response.OutputStream)
imgStream.Close()
context.Response.End()
On the Silverlight client I am handling the stream like:
Dim request As HttpWebRequest = result.AsyncState
Dim response As HttpWebResponse = request.EndGetResponse(result)
Dim responseStream As IO.Stream = response.GetResponseStream()
I want to take that stream and open the browsers save dialog, one option I have explored is using the Html.Window.Navigate(New Uri("image url")) and this opened the correct browser default dialog but it is not an option because I need to send extended information(e.g. XML) to the server through the HttpRequest.Headers.Item and the Navigate doesn't allow this.
How can I take a Response Stream and force the default browser Save dialog to appear from the Silverlight Application without using the Html.Window.Navigate(New Uri("image url"))?
Using simplexml_load_string() how do I get "ForgotPassword" from the following XML?

<apikey>login</apikey>
</authentication>
