  • How would I start to build a subscription module with Magento?

    - by user193478
    I need to create a subscription module on magento. I created a module call subscription under a custom namespace in the local folder. I have register it with magento, so, I'm good to go. I want to be able to extend core Catalog_Product and add a couple new fields that relate to subscriptions, like trial period, charge date, and other subscription attributes. I also, need to create a way to manage the users that are subscribed to these subscriptions. What would be the best approach for this?

  • How decide whether a e-mail was newly sent, replied or forwarded?

    - by user572783
    I use Visual Studio 2010 to create an Outlook 2007 Addin. Now i want to know whether a e-mail was newly sent, replied or forwarded. Is there any property for this? using Outlook = Microsoft.Office.Interop.Outlook; namespace _Outlook2k7_Add_In { public partial class ThisAddIn { private void ThisAddIn_Startup(object sender, System.EventArgs e) { } private void ThisAddIn_Shutdown(object sender, System.EventArgs e) { } void Application_ItemSend(object Item, ref bool Cancel) { Outlook.MailItem mail = Item as Outlook.MailItem; if (mail == null) return; // Magic? } #region VSTO generated code /// <summary> /// Required method for Designer support - do not modify /// the contents of this method with the code editor. /// </summary> private void InternalStartup() { this.Startup += new System.EventHandler(ThisAddIn_Startup); this.Shutdown += new System.EventHandler(ThisAddIn_Shutdown); this.Application.ItemSend += new Outlook.ApplicationEvents_11_ItemSendEventHandler(Application_ItemSend); } #endregion } }

  • Add static const data to a struct already defined

    - by Kyle
    Since static const data inside a class is really just namespace sugar for constants I would think that struct A { float a; struct B { static const int b = a; }; }; would be equivalent to struct A { float a; }; struct A::B { static const int b = a; }; or something similar. Is something like this possible in C++? It would be useful for me to be able to tag class definitions that I'm pulling in from third party libraries with information like this.

  • Correct Exceptions in C++

    - by Dr.Ackula
    I am just learning how to handle errors in my C++ code. I wrote this example that looks for a text file called some file, and if its not found will throw an exception. #include <iostream> #include <fstream> using namespace std; int main() { int array[90]; try { ifstream file; file.open("somefile.txt"); if(!file.good()) throw 56; } catch(int e) { cout<<"Error number "<<e<<endl; } return 0; } Now I have two questions. First I would like to know if I am using Exceptions correctly. Second, (assuming the first is true) what is the benefit to using them vs an If else statement?

  • XCode 5 says I got a duplicate, which I don't

    - by GoodMove
    The point is every time I try to run a C++ code in XCode 5 (the file s "File.cpp") xcode returns this: duplicate symbol _main ld: 1 duplicate symbol for architecture i386 clang: error: linker command failed with exit code 1 (use -v to see invocation) And it only returns the error, when I got the following function whatever it contains: int main() { } I checked the folder, which XCode points to (where it says the duplicates are placed), but didn't find anything though. What am I supposed to do??? #include "File.h" using namespace std; void func (void){ cout << "Hello World!" << endl; }

  • Trying to create C++/CLI assembly for use in .NET

    - by Bad Man
    I'm trying to bring a C++ library into C#, so naturally I am trying to make a C++/CLI project. In visual studio I created a new project (Visual C++ project, class library). I then tried to make a test class out of the pre-generated "Class1" namespace Test { public ref class TestIt { public: void DoWork() { System::Console::WriteLine("sup"); } // TODO: Add your methods for this class here. }; } So I compile in and go to the build folder.... hrmm no .dll wetf?? There's a .dll.intermediate.manifest file, but no .dll. So wut I did wrong?

  • Printing escape character

    - by danutenshu
    When I am given "d""\"/""b", I need to print out the statement character for character. (d, b, a slash, a backslash, and 5 quotes) in C++. The only errors that show now are the lines if(i.at(j)="\\") and else if(i.at(j)="\""). Also, how should the outside double apostrophes be excluded? #include <iostream> #include <cstdlib> using namespace std; int main (int argc, const char* argv[] ) { string i= argv[1]; for (int j=0; j>=sizeof(i)-1; j++) { if(i.at(j)="\\") { cout << "\\"; } else if(i.at(j)="\"") { cout << "\""; } else { cout << i.at(j); } } return 0; }

  • Referencing a different project in the same assembly, different namespaces

    - by Redburn
    I have two projects : Menu and Module and they are both in the same namespace foobar. I am currently referencing the module project from the Menu project to open up certain controls on a tab control in my menu. However I need to launch a new control from one of my controls which is located in the Module project. When I try referencing the menu project, it does not show up in my intellisense when I try to reference it with a using. Am I doing something wrong logically here? Here is an example of what it is : Project Menu Public Void LaunchWPFControl(string pHeader,string pPath) { //Code goes here to launch a WPF control in the browser } Project Module //What I would love to do but doesn't work Using Menu; ... ... ... private void dgModule_MouseDoubleClick(object sender, MouseButtonEventArgs e) { Menu.LaunchWPFControl("Accounts","AccountsControl"); }

  • Why this friend function can't access a private member of the class?

    - by Alceu Costa
    I am getting the following error when I try to access bins private member of the GHistogram class from within the extractHistogram() implementation: error: 'QVector<double> MyNamespace::GHistogram::bins' is private error: within this context Where the 'within this context' error points to the extractHistogram() implementation. Does anyone knows what's wrong with my friend function declaration? Here's the code: namespace MyNamespace{ class GHistogram { public: GHistogram(qint32 numberOfBins); qint32 getNumberOfBins(); /** * Returns the frequency of the value i. */ double getValueAt(qint32 i); friend GHistogram * Gbdi::extractHistogram(GImage *image, qint32 numberOfBins); private: QVector<double> bins; }; GHistogram * extractHistogram(GImage * image, qint32 numberOfBins); }

  • Shuffle array variables in a pre-specified order, without using extra memory of "size of input array"

    - by Eternal Learner
    Input : A[4] = {0,4,-1,1000} - Actual Array P[4] = {1,0,3,2} - Order to be reshuffled Output: A[4] = {4,0,1000,-1} Condition : Don't use an additional array as memory. Can use an extra variable or two. Problem : I have the below program in C++, but this fails for certain inputs of array P. #include<iostream> using namespace std; void swap(int *a_r,int *r) { int temp = *r; *r = *a_r; *a_r = temp; } int main() { int A[4] = {0,4,-1,1000}; int P[4] = {3,0,1,2}; int value = A[0] , dest = P[0]; for(int i=0; i<4;i++) { swap(&A[dest],&value); dest = P[dest]; } for(int i=0;i<4;i++) cout<<A[i]<<" "; }

  • WPF Creating an instance of a class in xaml

    - by Cloverness
    Hi, I have a problem with creating the instance of a class in xaml file. I thought you can do it like this: in the resource part of the user control and then use it in the xaml file (for example bind to it). But even tough the class I created is located in the same namespace it says that: "The type was not found. Verfiy that all assemblies were built, etc". How to get it right? is there another method? Thanks for suggestions.

  • Is it good practice to export variables in Perl?

    - by gvkv
    I'm finding it very convenient to pass configuration and other data that is read or calculated once but then used many times throughout a program by using Perl's use mechanism. I'm doing this by exporting a hash into the caller's namespace. For example: package Myconfiguration; my %config; sub import { my $callpkg = caller(0); my $expsym = $_[1]; configure() unless %config; *{"$callpkg\::$expsym"} = \%config; } and then in other modules: use MyConfiguration (loc_config_sym); if ( $loc_config_sym{paramater} ) { # ... do stuff ... } However, I'm not sure about this as a best practice. Is it better to add a method that returns a hash ref with the data? Something else?

  • Finding vars from dynamically created namespaces in clojure

    - by Tom Crayford
    The following test fails: (ns clojure_refactoring.rename-fn-test (:use clojure.test)) (deftest test-fn-location (in-ns 'refactoring-test-fn-rename) (clojure.core/refer-clojure) (defn a [b] (inc b)) (in-ns 'clojure_refactoring.rename-fn-test) (is (not= (find-var 'refactoring-test-fn-rename/a) nil)) (remove-ns 'refactoring-test-fn-rename)) That is, find-var (of a var I've just created, in a namespace I've just create) returns nil. This behaviour doesn't happen at the repl, where typing out the steps of the test works just fine. Am I doing something wrong, or is this just something that doesn't work in clojure right now?

  • Could someone tell me if my C++ indent style is named? (example given)

    - by Maulrus
    I'm learning C++. For me, my programming style is just what looks the best; it doesn't seem to follow the rules of any one particular style. Here's an example void f(int x){ //no space between close-paren and bracket if (!x){ cout << "x is non-zero\n"; } //closing bracket indented to the same level as the original statement } It's only slightly different for something like a class or a namespace: class myClass {}; //space between class name and bracket, otherwise the same as functions K&R style does uses that kind of bracketing for statements, but my style uses it for everything. I'd like to know if there's a name for it so I can say simply what my indent style is without having to explain using examples like these.

  • Clojure: using *command-line-args* in the script rather than REPL

    - by Teflon Mac
    I've clojure running within Eclipse. I want to pass arguments to clojure when running it. In the below the arguments are available in the REPL but not in the script itself. What do I need to do such that in the below typing arg1 in the REPL will return the first argument? Script: (NS Test) (def arg1 (nth *command-line-args* 0)) After clicking on the Eclipse "Run"... Clojure 1.1.0 1:1 user=> #<Namespace test> 1:2 test=> arg1 nil 1:3 test=> *command-line-args* ("bird" "dog" "cat" "pig") 1:4 test=> (def arg2 (nth *command-line-args* 1)) #'test/arg2 1:5 test=> arg2 "dog" 1:6 test=>

  • When iterating over values, why does typeof(value) return "string" when value is a number? Javascrip

    - by Mark
    I'm using Google Chrome for this test: Contrary to intuition, the first loop alerts "string" 3 times, while the second loop alerts "number" 3 times. numarray = [1, 2, 3]; //for-each loop for(num in numarray) alert(typeof(num)); //standard loop for(i=0; i<numarray.length; i++) alert(typeof(numarray[i])); I was expecting both loops to alert "number" 3 times. How is the first loop implemented in Javascript? In other words, if the for-each is syntactic sugar, what is its equivalent using a standard loop? Also, is there some way to iterate over an object's namespace using a standard loop? I'm looking to touch every one of some object's methods and attributes using a loop of the second kind. I'm new to Javascript and any help is highly appreciated, thanks.

  • C# Console Application Output to .csv file

    - by Zinn
    I am trying to make a program that will show the numbers: 1, 10 +30 2, 40 (the scale goes up in this pattern by adding 20 to the last number added) 3, 90 +50 4, 160 5, 250 +70 So far I have this code: using System; using System.Collections.Generic; using System.Linq; using System.Text; using System.IO;// namespace Myloop { class Program { static void Main(string[] args) /// </summary> { StreamWriter myOutputStream = new StreamWriter("loopdata.csv"); int forloop; for (forloop = 1; forloop < 21; forloop++) Console.WriteLine(forloop); Console.ReadLine(); myOutputStream.Close(); } } } This is showing the first sequence of numbers 1 - 20, but could anyone give me any guidance how to do the other sequence next to it in the console application and how I can output these to a .csv file, as the information I have so far doesn't appear in the .csv file

  • Guidelines for solution source code organisation(OO/DDD)

    - by fearofawhackplanet
    I'm starting on my first business project (.NET) and am trying to follow DDD principles. Are there any guidelines or common patterns for orgaining source code and namespaces? For example, do your domain objects go in a namespace MyProject.Domain or whatever? Would you separate the concrete implementations and the interfaces? In different namespaces? Different folders? Different solutions? I know a lot of this is subjective and dependent on project size, but a few pointers or suggestions to get started on a relatively small but extensible n-tier project would be useful.

  • Programmatically find maximum static array size in C++

    - by GuyGreer
    I am curious whether it is possible to determine the maximum size that an array can have in C++. #include <iostream> using namespace std; #define MAX 2000000 int main() { long array[MAX]; cout << "Message" << endl; return 0; } This compiles just fine, but then segfaults as soon as I run it (even though array isn't actually referenced). I know it's the array size too because if I change it to 1000000 it runs just fine. So, is there some define somewhere or some way of having #define MAX MAX_ALLOWED_ARRAY_SIZE_FOR_MY_MACHINE_DEFINED_SOMEWHERE_FOR_ME? I don't actually need this for anything, this question is for curiosity's sake.
