    I have a table that describes a variety of objects in my system (ie. umbrella, boots, satchel, whatever). Each one of these objects needs to have a distinct prevalence or incidence. For example, the umbrella is rarer than the boots. Based on those factors, I need to randomly select a single object (including a blank or 'no object found') based on that incidence value. Yikes. Make sense?

But as the tables are going to be generated thru asp.NET (Aspx) , which is not manually created- I'd like my table to generate the alternate rows. I've been trying to make this work with Javascript, but I can't figure it out and I believe this is a good resource site. I've been using a manual table with Adobe Dreamweaver cs4 as a test, but I have to put the class of "alternatecolors" in order to make them appear, and I can't do this normally.: Question is , can someone provide me a good Javascript that I would put in the header of the file, and actually help me out to make this work ? I think I'm burned...or maybe I can't see what others see quickly due to the amount of time I've spent. I just tried posting the code of my table here, but I couldn't get it well formatted and I got to run... I'm not using an 'id' on this table, but the class is 'mytable'.     I've seen simple examples of rendering a Zend_Form using decorators, but I'm not sure they are able to handle the issue I'm facing very well. I query the database and get an array of user objects. I want to display these users as a form, with a radio button next to each of them and a submit button at the bottom of the page. Here's roughly what the form will look like: [user id] [email] [full name] ( ) 1 [email protected] Test user 1 (*) 2 [email protected] Test user 2 [SUBMIT] Is this something achievable in a reasonably straightforward way or do I need to use the ViewScript partial?

  • Can I combine values from multiple rows in another table into multiple columns of one row using SQL?

    I have two tables: T1: | M_ID | P_ID1 | P_ID2 | rest of T1 columns | | 0 | 0 | 1 | ... | | 1 | 2 | 3 | ... | T2: | P_ID | Type | A | B | | 0 | 1 | a | e | | 1 | 2 | b | f | | 2 | 1 | c | g | | 3 | 2 | d | h | Now, I want to have a query that selects this: | M_ID | P_1a | P_1b | P_2a | P_2b | rest of T1 columns | | 0 | a | e | b | f | ... | | 1 | c | g | c | h | ... | So, in words: I want to select all columns from T1, but I want to replace P_ID1 with the columns from T2, where the P_ID is equal to P_ID1, and the type is 1, and basically the same for P_ID2. I can obviously get the information I need with multiple queries, but I was wondering if there is a way that I can do this with one query. Any ideas? I'm currently using SQL Server 2008r2, but I'd also be interested in solutions for other database software. Thanks for the help!

But when I try to use list comprehension to create the list: row = ['a' for range in xrange(3)] list_of_lists = [row for range in xrange(3)] list_of_lists[1][1] = 'b' for row in list_of_lists: print row It results in an entire column of items in the list being changed. Why is this? How can I achieve the desired effect with list comprehension?
