• Creating colour schemes based on an existing scheme

  I have a colour scheme based around yellow, for warning messages on a website. It amounts to a slightly orange bordered box, with a pale yellow fill. The exact colours are: #FED626 (border) #FFF7C0 (fill) I want to know if it's possible to convert this scheme mathematically or algorithmically somehow, to come up with a blue version where the border is the "same amount" of blue as this one is yellow. Is this possible, or do I just "pin the tail on the donkey" on a colour pallet to get roughly the right one? I ask, because I'd quite like to be able to calculate this on the fly, to perhaps implement something in .less. To give you an idea, I tried swopping the red and blue values on those two, and came up with this: #26D6FE (border) #C0F7FF (fill) That wasn't too hard, but think about if I wanted a pink colour scheme... :)

I can not use the in built TreeView in ASP.NET as i need to point the target of the selection to another frame (I have tried, and this doesn't seem possible). My TreeView is built up as follows: Folder1 ChildOne ChildTwo ChildThree Folder2 ChildOne ChildTwo ChildThree I have the collapsing of the folders working, but would like to know how to format this TreeView so it has dotted lines down to the child nodes (as most TreeViews tend to have).   I want to create an environment like UAC. i.e. my dialog should appear to the user and unless he responds to it, i want to disable the background. User should not be able to carry out any activity. For this purpose I created a new desktop and display my dialog on the new desktop. But i want something like UAC where the background seems disabled (or transparent??).   Hello all, I have some custom control inside of which i should create radiobuttons or checkboxes. The count of child controls is available only at runtime (it loads some file from which it gets this count). So i need to create variable number of controls. Which collection i should use for this purpose? Solution 1: simply use std::vector (or CArray) - not suitable because i want use MFC (CButton). Of course i can Attach() and later Detach() handle to window each time i need this window, but it will give big overhead. Solution 2: use std::vector or CArray or CList or... In this case i take care about making 'new' and appropriate 'delete' when control is unneeded. I am forgetful :) MFC handle map contains pointer to CButton and i can't use simple CArray, because it will move my objects each time when his size will grow. ... and the question is: Which collection i should use for containing variable count of MFC control classes?

  Hi guys, Today we have a windows application that, using an OCX, creates a web page (visible by a WebBrowser control in a small .NET WinForm application) and communicates through COM to the main application/client. (not relevant but this is Pascal) I'm currently responsible to re create this application in a web environment so we can have the same functionality shared through Web as the user can see the same in a Web Browser. The Windows application has almost 4 years on it and I need to re create everything from scratch, and all the bugs/features find in the future in the Windows Application I have to re create them again in the Web... Ohh well, you can see where this will end. I was thinking... is there any way I can create a Wrapper, even using 3rd party commercial objects, to: Communicate with the COM Object Can expose the content of the OCX (this in my most confortable language, ASP.NET C#, but other are welcome) I was thinking out loud, can this be accomplish with a Java Applet? Any ideas or any point to the right road will be appreciated.

  Is there a way to get the changes of two commits with mercurial? The second commit is not directly after the first one, there are some other ones between them. I tried hg diff [some params] --change xxxxx --change yyyyy > file.patch but that only includes the last changeset. If there is no way to achieve this with hg, is there maybe a tool to combine patches?

• Trouble creating a Java policy server for a simple Flash app

  I'm trying to create a simple Flash chat application for educational purposes, but I'm stuck trying to send a policy file from my Java server to the Flash app (after several hours of googling with little luck). The policy file request reaches the server that sends a harcoded policy xml back to the app, but the Flash app doesn't seem to react to it at all until it gives me a security sandbox error. I'm loading the policy file using the following code in the client: Security.loadPolicyFile("xmlsocket://myhostname:" + PORT); The server recognizes the request as "<policy-file-request/" and responds by sending the following xml string to the client: public static final String POLICY_XML = "<?xml version=\"1.0\"?>" + "<cross-domain-policy>" + "<allow-access-from domain=\"*\" to-ports=\"*\" />" + "</cross-domain-policy>"; The code used to send it looks like this: try { _dataOut.write(PolicyServer.POLICY_XML + (char)0x00); _dataOut.flush(); System.out.println("Policy sent to client: " + PolicyServer.POLICY_XML); } catch (Exception e) { trace(e); } Did I mess something up with the xml or is there something else I might have overlooked?

  I'm trying to create a map overlay for displaying a video stream (MJPEG) on top of a Mapview. Currently I've a standalone activity that creates a data thread for fetching MJPEG video frames. I'm using a handler to send a frame (as a Bitmap) from the data thread to the main activity which then updates the UI. I'm not sure how I can implement "refresh" for updating my "overlayed" video stream. EDIT: What I mean by "refresh" is - how can I update the video portion (not the mapview) of my UI whenever I get a new video frame. I plan to paint the video frame (bitmap) in the "draw method" of my implementation of the Overlay subclass. But the "draw" method is not invoked by me directly. Thanks.

  Hi, I'm trying to build a CCD document. My application has some raw data which has to be converted into a CCD document. And I've no idea where I should start from!! From this thread I learned that MDHT and Braid can be used to create a CCD document. But thats all I could grasp. I thought that I need a CCD XSD, a java library which will transform my raw data into a CCD document using this XSD ( or may be the library itself takes care of it ). But I'm stuck at both. I suppose the CCD XSD has to be purchased. If I get hold of the XSD, how should I proceed ahead? I got really confused reading the Braid and MDHT sites. Sorry, I'm a complete nOOb in this domain. Can anyone guide me?

  Is there any alternate way to create stored procedure without putting all query in one long string if criteria of WWHERE clause can be different. Suppose I have Orders table I want to create stored procedure on this table and there are three column on which I wnat to filter records. 1- CustomerId, 2- SupplierId, 3- ProductId. If user only give CustomerId in search criteria then query should be like following SELECT * FROM Orders WHERE Orders.CustomerId = @customerId And if user only give ProductId in search criteria then query should be like following SELECT * FROM Orders WHERE Orders.ProductId = @productId And if user only all three CustomerId, ProductId, and SupplierId is given then all three Ids will be used in WHERE to filter. There is also chance that user don't want to filter record then query should be like following SELCT * FROM Orders Whenever I have to create this kind of procedure I put all this in string and use IF conditions to check if arguments (@customeId or @supplierId etc) has values. When users move the mouse cursor on each field (Title, description, department etc.) the related tip will be automatically became visible as a simple pop-up (tool tip) and summarize what they should write there. and when the mouse cursor is not on one of these fields there is no tool tip. How can I design such a system via share point designer? I am not able use any add ons. I can't upload any additional things to the server. I have to make page based design. The aim is to create a menu that expands to show the sub menu when I click a parent node (in the top level). I am after the xslt I would need to expose the sub menu when clicked.   I'm working on a website where a logged-in admin needs the ability to upload and manage multiple PDFs from their computer. They'd need to be able to upload/remove the files. Also, there would need to be a way that they can sort the list of uploaded files and save that order so that other visitors to the page would see the list of files in that particular order. I know I can detach the database attach in SQL SERVER 2008. Create the tables and then detach. But I don't have SQL SERVER 2008 and I want to see if this can be done using command line tool. • rsync creating thousands of ..ds_store files from mounted volume

  hello there - been using rsync on os x to sync all our website admins. it was working fine until the os x 10.6.3 update! Now it creates thousands of ZeroK folders.   I'm trying to create a way of deploying a set of tools (which are add-ins to 3rd party software) to my users. I would like to do the following: User Enters Serial Dlls in their directory structure is extracted to program files a file is copied to a location in ProgramData (this registers my add-ins to the 3rd party application) Online activation for software is performed Can anyone point me into the right direction for this? I had a look at deployment projects in Visual Studio but I'm not sure if they are what I'm after. Main problem is they are ugly, I would like to have a nice WPF installer, and have a more custom experience. But I guess that can be traded off if its going to make things easier. I was thinking, I could just make my own C# project that extracts the files, but I have no idea how to package them up and extract them all as part of one download (like the MSI files that the deployment projects create). Can anyone point me in the right direction?
