  • Nginx .zip files return 404

    - by Kenley Tomlin
    I have set up Nginx as a reverse proxy for Node and to serve my static files and user uploaded images. Everything is working beautifully except that I can't understand why Nginx can't find my .zip files. Here is my nginx.conf. user nginx; worker_processes 1; error_log /var/log/nginx/error.log warn; pid /var/run/nginx.pid; events { worker_connections 1024; } http { include mime.types; proxy_cache_path /var/www/web_cache levels=1:2 keys_zone=ooparoopaweb_cache:8m max_size=1000m inactive=600m; sendfile on; upstream *******_node { server 172.27.198.66:8888 max_fails=3 fail_timeout=20s; #fair weight_mode=idle no_rr } upstream ******_json_node { server 172.27.176.57:3300 max_fails=3 fail_timeout=20s; } server { #REDIRECT ALL HTTP REQUESTS FOR FRONT-END SITE TO HTTPS listen 80; server_name *******.com www.******.com; return 301 https://$host$request_uri; } server { #MOBILE APPLICATION PROXY TO NODE JSON listen 3300 ssl; ssl_certificate /*****/*******/json_ssl/server.crt; ssl_certificate_key /*****/******/json_ssl/server.key; server_name json.*******.com; location / { proxy_pass http://******_json_node; proxy_redirect off; proxy_set_header Host $host ; proxy_set_header X-Real-IP $remote_addr ; proxy_set_header X-Forwarded-For $proxy_add_x_forwarded_for ; proxy_set_header X-Forwarded-Proto https; client_max_body_size 20m; client_body_buffer_size 128k; proxy_connect_timeout 90s; proxy_send_timeout 90s; proxy_read_timeout 90s; proxy_buffers 32 4k; } } server { #******.COM FRONT-END SITE PROXY TO NODE WEB SERVER listen 443 ssl; ssl_certificate /***/***/web_ssl/********.crt; ssl_certificate_key /****/*****/web_ssl/myserver.key; server_name mydomain.com www.mydomain.com; add_header Strict-Transport-Security max-age=500; location / { gzip on; gzip_types text/html text/css application/json application/x-javascript; proxy_pass http://mydomain_node; proxy_redirect off; proxy_set_header Host $host ; proxy_set_header X-Real-IP $remote_addr ; proxy_set_header X-Forwarded-For $proxy_add_x_forwarded_for ; proxy_set_header X-Forwarded-Proto https; client_max_body_size 20m; client_body_buffer_size 128k; proxy_connect_timeout 90s; proxy_send_timeout 90s; proxy_read_timeout 90s; proxy_buffers 32 4k; } } server { #ADMIN SITE PROXY TO NODE BACK-END listen 80; server_name admin.mydomain.com; location / { proxy_pass http://mydomain_node; proxy_redirect off; proxy_set_header Host $host ; proxy_set_header X-Real-IP $remote_addr ; proxy_set_header X-Forwarded-For $proxy_add_x_forwarded_for ; client_max_body_size 20m; client_body_buffer_size 128k; proxy_connect_timeout 90s; proxy_send_timeout 90s; proxy_read_timeout 90s; proxy_buffers 32 4k; } } server { # SERVES STATIC FILES listen 80; listen 443 ssl; ssl_certificate /**/*****/server.crt; ssl_certificate_key /****/******/server.key; server_name static.domain.com; access_log static.domain.access.log; root /var/www/mystatic/; location ~*\.(jpeg|jpg|png|ico)$ { gzip on; gzip_types text/plain text/css application/json application/x-javascript text/xml application/xml application/rss+xml text/javascript image/svg+xml application/vnd.ms-fontobject application/x-font-ttf font/opentype image/png image/jpeg application/zip; expires 10d; add_header Cache-Control public; } location ~*\.zip { #internal; add_header Content-Type "application/zip"; add_header Content-Disposition "attachment; filename=gamezip.zip"; } } } include tcp.conf; Tcp.conf contains settings that allow Nginx to proxy websockets. • Serving Meteor on main domain and Apache on subdomain independently

    - by kinologik
I'm running a Meteor server on my Ubuntu server. But problems arise when I try to have Apache serving a subdomain on the same server. main.domain.com - Meteor sub.domain.com - Apache Meteor is running on port 80. I have previously tried to have Meteor run on port 3000 and served in reverse proxy with Nginx, but Meteor started to behave badly (tcp/websockets issues) and I spent too many evenings and nights to persist for my own sake. So I reverted my setup to have Meteor being the main server (app works fine), and then install Apache the serve my subdomain. The problem is I cannot have Apache serve on port 80 too since it seems to overrun my Meteor server. From experience, I try to stay away from reverse-proxying Meteor, but I'm not knowledgeable enough to get Apache to dedicate itself to my subdomain and without overwhelming "everything port 80" on my server. How can I have both services behave with each other in this kind of setup?

  • Why do ASP.NET applications appear to be running in a terminal server session?

    - by Heinzi
Running the following ASPX page (IIS 6, Server 2003 R2) <%@ Page Language="vb" AutoEventWireup="false" %> <% Response.Write("Am I running in a terminal server session: " & _ System.Windows.Forms.SystemInformation.TerminalServerSession) %> yields the following output: Am I running in a terminal server session: True Why? IIS is running as a service, not as a Terminal Services application... (BTW, according to Reflector, SystemInformation.TerminalServerSession is just a wrapper for GetSystemMetrics(SM_REMOTESESSION).)

  • FTP an entire folder via the command line

    - by Chris Southam
I'm looking so migrate some websites to a new server. I have SSH access to the current one but only FTP access to the new one. How can I via Centos and SSH copy entire folders to the new server via FTP? I can log into the new server via the built in FTP client on Centos but I'm not sure of the commands after this. I need to move the httpdocs folder from the old to the public_html folder of the new server. I'd love to do this server to server as it'll be a lot quicker than download - upload via my broadband connection. Yours, Chris

  • How to alter mail-from postfix?

    - by Simon
Hi all, do anyone know how to alter the mail-from of a postfix mail server? Example, I have a postfix mail server which sends mail for the domain example.org. When a linux user, whose account is user.example.org (mapped in postfix/virtual to [email protected]), try to send an email, its mail from is [email protected]. HELO hostname: server.hostname.org Source IP: one ip here mail-from: [email protected] Problems: user.example.org instead of just user. server.hostname.org instead of just example.org. Desired mail-from: [email protected]. This is causing me problems with SPF records for example (example.org differs from server.hostname.org)... any idea of what can be the problem? Thanks in advance, Simon.

  • OpenVPN Push DNS Not Working Correctly On Windows

    - by woodsbw
I currently have OpenVPN server setup on an Ubuntu machine, as well as DNSMasq. I am wanting to push DNS to the client (road warrior setup.) I had the push "dhcp-option DNS x.x.x.x" where x.x.x.x was an open OpenDNS server, for testing, and everything was working when I connected from my Windows client But now that I have DNSMasq setup, and I changed the "dhcp-option DNS x.x.x.x" to the DNSMasq server, but when they client connects it still receives the old, OpenDNS DNS server IP. I'm at a bit of a loss here, I have tried flushing DNS on the client, rebooting the server, and I even grep'd the entire server to see if the OpenDNS IP was in some other config I was missing...it wasn't. One other note, when connect to the VPN and explicitly run nslookup against against the DNSMasq IP, the addresses resolve correctly, so it isn't a DNSMasq issue.

  • Can I see the SMTP session log when Mail.app connects to an SMPT server?

    - by Charles Stewart
Problem: I've set up a mail server using SASL authentication, and have given Mail.app (on Mac Os 10.4) the login information it needs to connect. I wrote a test message for it to deliver to my server: the Activity window shows that it tries to deliver the message, but then it simply stops, with no indication of error, except that the test message is left in the Outbox. How can I find out what went wrong? Is there some log file I don't know about?

  • Help replacing old Windows 2003 SBS DC with a Win2008 Standard Edition DC

    - by Chris
Objective: Trying to replace a Windows 2003 SBS domain controller with a windows server 2008 Standard Edition Domain Controller. What I did: used ADPREP. Then all user accounts and OUs are successfully replicated into the 2008 server. I have also managed to transfer all the DC roles (operations master, schema, pdc) into the Server 2008. I have also used NETDOM QUERY FSMO . It displayed that all the roles transferred to the 2008 server. Problem: When I am trying to demote the windows 2003 SBS server using DCPROMO, the message is “No other Active Directory for this domain can be contacted”. I also tried shutting down the 2003 server. Users can login into the domain but they have trouble finding SHARED folders. Can someone help me find out what I did wrong ? Need a little push in the right direction here. Thank you very much ?

I'm reading a book about programming, and I want to check an HTTP response message. The book is instructing me to telnet into your favorite Web server. Then type in a one-line request message for some object that is housed on the server: for example: telnet cis.poly.edu 80 GET /~hello/ HTTP/1.1 Host: cis.poly.edu What am I supposed to do, exactly? What program do I need? Where do I need to type this message?

  • How does Facebook chat avoid continuous polling of the server?

    - by Chad Johnson
I am trying to understand how Facebook's chat feature receives messages without continuously poling the server. Firebug shows me a single GET XmlHttpRequest continuously sitting there, waiting for a response from the server. After 5 minutes, this never timed out. How are they preventing timeout? An AJAX request can just sit there like that indefinitely, waiting for a response? Can I do this with JSONRequest? I see this at json.org: JSONRequest is designed to support duplex connections. This permits applications in which the server can asynchronously initiate transmissions. This is done by using two simultaneous requests: one to send and the other to receive. By using the timeout parameter, a POST request can be left pending until the server determines that it has timely data to send. Or is there another way to let an AJAX call just sit there, waiting, besides using JSONRequest?

  • Hyper-V Cluster with failover - NETWORKING

    - by Adam
Hi We are looking to setup a 3 node Hyper-V cluster with live migration and failover using: 3 x Dell R710's with dual quad core Xeon & 128 GB RAM & 6 NICs in each 1 x Dell MD 3220i SAN We will be running this setup from a data center and so co-locating our kit. Can anybody explain how we should setup the network connections to make the system redundant? We have looked into this great article but are not sure how to get a 3 server setup correctly and reliably: http://faultbucket.ca/2011/01/hyper-v-failover-cluster-setup/. I believe we need network connections for: live migration, heartbeat, management, hyper-v etc. I assume as we are running it from a DC all IPs will have to be public IPs? Are AD servers will be VMs. One on each Hyper-V server and setup not to be HA.

  • using svnadmin in a php script

    - by fabjoa
Howdie Scenario: Allow developers to submit new application packages to a market server. Developers run a bash script which contains a cURL call to market server (localhost/market/submit/$app-name). The submit script on the server creates a new folder in existing svn server with the name of the submitted app. Script on dev side waits for HTTP to issue a success message and then do a svn checkout in dev local machine. Problem: The submit script on the market server failed to create new svn directory through code: echo `svnadmin mkdir -m 'added new package $package' http://localhost/market/packages/$package`; this does not echo nothing and when I go on http://localhost/market/packages, the folder has not been added and the revision number has not been incremented. I've tried from a terminal in market server chown root:www-data /usr/bin/svnadmin but still no luck. Somebody has come acrosss similar problem? Any solutions? Thanks! • HAProxy with 'backup' failure

    - by A.RG
I have a simple configuration of 2 MySQL being load balanced by HAProxy. For an unfortunate reason I need to use them in Passive\Active mode. So I thought I'd configure one DB as 'backup' and go to sleep. But I was wrong. Whenever I add the 'backup' to the server line HAProxy throws a communication link error (essentially saying 'no DB available" (with the 'backup' it works great). It just doesnt consider that server as a valid option any more... I have tried this configuration: listen mysql 10.0.0.109:3307 mode tcp balance roundrobin option httpchk server db01 10.0.0.236:3306 server db02 10.0.0.68:3306 backup and also this configuration: frontend mysql_proxy bind 10.0.0.109:3307 default_backend mysql backend mysql mode tcp balance roundrobin option httpchk server db01 10.0.0.236:3306 server db02 10.0.0.68:3306 backup Nothing worked! Can anyone point me in the right direction? Thanks

  • Configure Courier IMAP to deliver mail to multiple hostnames

    - by vy32
I have a courier IMAP server running on a private server at dreamhost. The private server's hostname is psxxxx.dreamhostps.com. I also have CNAME for the private server, call it mydomain.com. I want to send email to [email protected] and have it delivered to [email protected]. Right now the Courer server on the private server is bouncing the mail. On other mail servers there is a file into which you put all of the names that the host responds to. The names are all synonyms for the host's name, so user@ are equivillent. How do I configure Courer to treat multiple hostnames as synonyms for its host name? Thank you.

  • How to fetch message body and attachments in XML format from Lotus Domino server from linux using ph

    - by too
Has anybody some information about accessing Lotus Domino server to fetch entire mail contents by http(s) requests from php linux server? The article by Andrei Kouvchinnikov describes well how to fetch message list in notes mail folders; after obtaining session id during login one can for example select top 100 messages by calling: https://your.server.domain/mail_db/mailbox.nsf/($Inbox)?ReadViewEntries&Start=1&Count=100 And this works perfectly. The arises when I am trying to get message contents (0A1DA5EEB7B65277C12576F50055D811 is an example message unique Id): https://your.server.domain/mail_db/mailbox.nsf/($Inbox)/0A1DA5EEB7B65277C12576F50055D811/?OpenDocument Such request in IE shows frameset with data hard to parse, in less common browsers like Opera it informs about unsupported browser. Ideally if it is possible to fetch notes message contents and all attachments by requesting it in the url, has anybody some information what request would it be? Link to Lotus web calls reference would be even more beneficial.

  • HELP!!! Upgrading to windows 2008 R2 server has caused major issue with screen scraping remote serve

    - by bobsov534
I have three servers. One is Windows 2003(A) and another is Windows 2008(B) and third one is also Windows 2008 (C). All of them are web servers. A and B contains classic asp pages and they are 32 bit servers and C contains asp.net pages and is 64 bit server. The asp pages of A and B use the screen scraping technology to render the asp.net pages from C. When A is ran, the asp.net page is rendered fine, meaning there are no broken images or file not found error. When B is ran, the images appears to be broken because its looking for those images in Server B instead of Server C itself. I believe this issue is caused by IIS 7 or 7.5 since IIS 6 has no problem scraping the remote server pages. Can you please help me with solution to this problem? This is sort of urgent since upgrading to windows server 2008 R2 now has been a major show stopper for us at the moment. Thanks in advance.

  • Why can't I create a database in an empty ASP MVC 2 project using Project->Add->New Item->SQL Server

    - by Dr Dork
I'm diving head first into ASP MVC and am playing around with creating and manipulating a database. I did a search and found this tutorial for creating a database, however when I follow it, I get this error when trying to add a new database to my fresh, empty ASP MVC 2 project... A network-related or instance-specific error occurred while establishing a connection to SQL Server. The server was not found or was not accessible. Verify that the instance name is correct and that SQL Server is configured to allow remote connections. (provider: SQL Network Interfaces, error: 26 - Error Locating Server/Instance Specified) The only requirement the tutorial mentioned was SQL Server Express, but when I went to download it, it said it was already installed. I'm assuming it was part of the VS 2010 RC I installed and am running. So I don't know what else I need if I am missing something. This is all new to me, so I'm sure I'm missing something obvious here and after I'm done posting this question, I plan to do some more research into the topic of databases and how they work with ASP MVC. In the meantime, I was you could help me answer a couple high level questions... What am I missing/forgetting to do that is causing this error? Any suggestions for good resources/tutorials that focus on using databases with ASP MVC? I've done a lot of database programming in the past, so I'm familiar with the concepts of relational databases and the SQL language. I wish I could find a good resource for learning how to work with them in an ASP dev environment, as well as a good breakdown of all the related technologies used for working with them (i.e. LINQ to SQL). Thanks so much in advance for all your help! I'm going to start researching these questions right now.

When using SQL Server Express 2005's User Instance feature with a connection string like this: <add name="Default" connectionString="Data Source=.\SQLExpress; AttachDbFilename=C:\My App\Data\MyApp.mdf; Initial Catalog=MyApp; User Instance=True; MultipleActiveResultSets=true; Trusted_Connection=Yes;" /> We find that we can't copy the database files MyApp.mdf and MyApp_Log.ldf (because they're locked) even after stopping the SqlExpress service, and have to resort to setting the SqlExpress service from automatic to manual startup mode, and then restarting the machine, before we can then copy the files. It was my understanding that stopping the SqlExpress service should stop all the user instances as well, which should release the locks on those files. But this does not seem to be the case - could anyone shed some light on how to stop a user instance, such that it's database files are no longer locked? Update OK, I stopped being lazy and fired up Process Explorer. Lock was held by sqlserver.exe - but there are two instances of sql server: sqlserver.exe PID: 4680 User Name: DefaultAppPool sqlserver.exe PID: 4644 User Name: NETWORK SERVICE The file is open by the sqlserver.exe instance with the PID: 4680 Stopping the "SQL Server (SQLEXPRESS)" service, killed off the process with PID: 4644, but left PID: 4680 alone. Seeing as the owner of the remaining process was DefaultAppPool, next thing I tried was stopping IIS (this database is being used from an ASP.Net application). Unfortunately this didn't kill the process off either. Manually killing off the remaining sql server process does remove the open file handle on the database files, allowing them to be copied/moved. Unfortunately I wish to copy/restore those files in some pre/post install tasks of a WiX installer - as such I was hoping there might be a way to achieve this by stopping a windows service, rather then having to shell out to kill all instances of sqlserver.exe as that poses some problems: Killing all the sqlserver.exe instances may have undesirable consequencies for users with other Sql Server instances on their machines. I can't restart those instances easily. Introduces additional complexities into the installer. Does anyone have any further thoughts on how to shutdown instances of sql server associated with a specific user instance?
