Why isn't there a designer for native api forms in Visual Studio? Similar to Delphi?
If there exist some programs, tools etc, please advice.
What is the best approach to design complex windows in pure API?
I'm developing a website that uses some complex computations (NLP-related). My customer wants to have "debugging" webpages for some of these computations where he can run them with arbitrary input and see all the intermediate results that occur during computation.
Before this request all of the computations were encapsulated in beans and intermediate results were logged into general log.
What is the best way to capture all these results on Java level to render them as webpage?
Question is: Best practices when using LDAP authentication like MS ActiveDirectory but having complex access control rights inside each application. Did you put it all in the LDAP or did you link it with information in the application?
Looking to build this in asp.net mvc 2 and using membership features, so best practice here i guess is that we roll our own custom provider to acomplish this...
I have a Flex repeater that has a complex item template. When a checkbox is clicked, I need to toggle the visibility of a sibling button contained in the same repeater template. Since I can't add binding expressions to event handlers, I can't pass in the repeater item's index.
How can I access sibling components inside a repeater item?
I'm looking for a good example of reading and writing to the Windows Registry using VB6.
Yes, I know there are lots of mediocre examples. I spent an hour googling and testing. Some were incredibly complex, others had only some of the functions, and almost none of it had been vetted in any way (voted on).
Since Stack Overflow is intended to the canonical location for answers to programming questions, it seems reasonable to post it here.
Without relying on third party libraries or obscenely complex custom number generating things, which of those two languages makes the most 'random' random numbers?
not too important, just a program that simulates dice rolls (I'm still a little new at both languages)
I want to make my own GTK# Textbox, the textbox should draw the text and it's cursor on a special way.
However keyboard and mouse-handling is quite complex and is also influenced by for instance the operating system (for instance the use of dead keys)
Is there a way to build such a control without having to worry about keyboard input?
I assume I have to make a textbox control that inherits the original textbox control. How can I handle drawing requests and mouse movements?
In the tornado.web module there is a function called _time_independent_equals:
def _time_independent_equals(a, b):
if len(a) != len(b):
return False
result = 0
for x, y in zip(a, b):
result |= ord(x) ^ ord(y)
return result == 0
It is used to compare secure cookie signatures, and thus the name.
But regarding the implementation of this function, is it just a complex way to say a==b?
Hi, I have a question about ruby and wsdl soap.
I couldn't find a way to get each method's params and their type.
For example, if I found out that a soap has a methods called "get_user_information" (using wsdlDriver) is there a way to know if this method requires some params and what type of params does it require (int, string, complex type, ecc..)?
I'd like to be able to build html forms from a remote wsdl for each method...
Sorry for my horrible English :D
I'm trying to set up a proxy model in django admin. It will represent a subset of the original model. The code from models.py:
class MyManager(models.Manager):
def get_query_set(self):
return super(MyManager, self).get_query_set().filter(some_column='value')
class MyModel(OrigModel):
objects = MyManager()
class Meta:
proxy = True
Now instead of filter() I need to use a complex SELECT statement with JOINS. What's the proper way to inject it wholly to the custom manager?
Hi,
I only want a simple Splash Screen Example.
Get the Code, Insert my picture, add 2 lines of code to load and finish.
But all I can google is so complex, that is too much. I only want a form with a picture that goes more and more transparent until it hides automaticly and my window is shown.
I tried the "prettygoodsplashscreen" from Codeproject, but don't work for me.
Lang is c#.net 2.0
Are Java annotations used for adding functionality to Java code besides just adding documentation about what's going on in the code? What's the most advanced/complex functionality you could add to your code through an annotation?
I'm writing a Firefox addon that is triggered whenever a word is highlighted. However I need a script that detects when a word is highlighted, and I'm stuck. An example would be nytimes.com (when you're reading an article and you highlight a word, the reference icon pops up). However the nytimes.com script is super complex. I'm 16 and not much of a programmer, so that is definitely way out of my league.
hi. I am really having a problem about what to use as an alternative for web flow. I have read that not all functionalities should be handled by web flow. Only those which needs complex xstate management. For those easy stuffs like just login, editing or deleting records what will I use as an alternative for web flow?
I'm looking into creating a GUI program for Windows in C++, I have a good knowledge of C++ in the command line and also in game creation. But I'm not sure where to start with GUI application development.
I have Visual Studio 2010 and have created new projects with a GUI but these templates are complex and leaves me not understanding whats happening and how to modify it.
So I'm asking where do I start? Preferably good websites that you can recommend or tutorials, rather than books being a poor student :)
What is the most complex expression you've seen/used ?
and what's the limit on the length of the expression that can be used ? I seem to recall something to that effect a while back but can't locate it now !!
I know WPF is more complex an flexible so could be thought to do more calculations. But since the rendering is done on the GPU, wouldn't it be faster than Winforms for the same application (functionally and visually)?
I mean when you are not running any games or heavy 3d rendering, the GPU isn't doing heavy work, right? Whereas the CPU is always busy.
Is this a valid assumption or is the GPU utilization of WPF a very minor operation in its pipeline?
Hi!
Is there a method to build a balanced binary search tree?
Example:
1 2 3 4 5 6 7 8 9
5
/ \
3 etc
/ \
2 4
/
1
I'm thinking there is a method to do this, without using the more complex self-balancing trees. Otherwise I can do it on my own, but someone probably have done this already :)
I've seen some complex, enterprise tools for requirements like Rymatech's FeaturePlan -- is there something that enables collaboration and best practices for putting Business-Readable, Domain-Specific (or natural language) requirements and acceptance criteria in place?
Does anyone know the general layout of how facebook's privacy permissions system works (database)? I've been trying to figure out how they manage to have such a complex set of rules be applied to various content on their site, yet it remains fast. How are they doing that?
Hi,
I love my Mac. But I have always found that my DNS lookups are as slow, even while flushing caches and I travel over know roads on the Internet. I was wondering if someone would know something a bit more automatic/intelligent than /etc/hosts and less complex and iron forged as BIND.
Thank you for your feedback and answers!
Assume I've got some arbitrary layout of splits in vim.

Is there a way to swap one and two and maintain the same layout? It's simple in this example, but I'm looking for a solution that will help for more complex layouts.
I have a library in c:\cppunit\lib, and a header files in c:\cppunit\include.
I come up with this cmake file to build with the library.
How to let CMake to know the library is in c:/cppunit/lib?
PROJECT( cppunitest )
INCLUDE_DIRECTORIES( "c:/cppunit/include" )
??? How to let CMake to know the library is in c:/cppunit/lib
SET( cppunitest_SRC main.cpp testset.cpp complex.cpp )
LINK_LIBRARIES(cppunit)
ADD_EXECUTABLE( cpptest ${cppunitest_SRC})
Hi,
I am trying to find a way for our users to very easily upload their outlook contacts into our web application (mysql database).
I'm not sure where to begin. I've seen various tools which are pretty complex. I am open to existing third-party solutions, but my hope is that there is something which is very simple to use or build.
Thanks.
PS: Ideally, it would not involve using visual basic.
What language is smart so that it could understand 'variable a = 0 , 20, ..., 300' ? so you could esely create arrays with it giving step start var last var (or, better no last variable (a la infinit array)) and not only for numbers (but even complex numbers...)
