  • jQuery return parameters

    - by Sash
This could be a novice question, but here goes... Why do we use data*.d* when we have to read data from a jquery web-service ? What is the significance of the .d? Is there any supporting documentation for the same? Thanks, Sashidhar Kokku

  • MSBuild conditionals depending on task parameters

    - by jalf
In MSBuild it's straightforward to define, say, a PropertyGroup which depends on the value of a property Foo: <PropertyGroup Conditional="'$(Foo)'=='Bar'" /> Is it also possible for the conditional to depend on a task parameter? For example, I'd like to use the value of the Link task's SubSystemparameter roughly like this: <PropertyGroup Conditional="'$(Link/SubSystem)'=='Console'" /> but don't know if it is possible, and if it is, what the correct syntax is. I'm pretty new to MSBuild though, so it's perfectly possible that I've missed something.

  • C++ arrays as parameters, EDIT: now includes variable scoping

    - by awshepard
Alright, I'm guessing this is an easy question, so I'll take the knocks, but I'm not finding what I need on google or SO. I'd like to create an array in one place, and populate it inside a different function. I define a function: void someFunction(double results[]) { for (int i = 0; i<100; ++i) { for (int n = 0; n<16; ++n) //note this iteration limit { results[n] += i * n; } } } That's an approximation to what my code is doing, but regardless, shouldn't be running into any overflow or out of bounds issues or anything. I generate an array: double result[16]; for(int i = 0; i<16; i++) { result[i] = -1; } then I want to pass it to someFunction someFunction(result); When I set breakpoints and step through the code, upon entering someFunction, results is set to the same address as result, and the value there is -1.000000 as expected. However, when I start iterating through the loop, results[n] doesn't seem to resolve to *(results+n) or *(results+n*sizeof(double)), it just seems to resolve to *(results). What I end up with is that instead of populating my result array, I just get one value. What am I doing wrong? EDIT Oh fun, I have a typo: it wasn't void someFunction(double results[]). It was: void someFunction(double result[])... So perhaps this is turning into a scoping question. If my double result[16] array is defined in a main.cpp, and someFunction is defined in a Utils.h file that's included by the main.cpp, does the result variable in someFunction then wreak havoc on the result array in main?

  • In Rails, how would I include a section of a page only if the rest of the page doesn't match a certain regexp?

    - by Simon
We have a site with a lot of user-generated content, and we'd like to show Google ads on it. Some of the content is such that we mustn't show the ads on pages containing that content, or else the whole site gets banned. We've come up with a regexp which we think will match all the offending content. So, three approaches come to mind: Render the page once without the ad section, and then insert the ad section into it if it's clean Render the page as normal, and do the insertion in client-side javascript Render the page above the ad section, capturing only the parts of the page that change; make sure there are no changing parts afterwards. Only show the ads if the captured text is clean, and make sure the unchanging, uncaptured parts are well-vetted in advance. The first one seems like it might delay the page rendering for too long; the second seems like it might delay showing the ads too long; and the third seems too fragile. Is there a better approach? If not, which one is the best solution of the three?

  • How to make a page print to printer just once

    - by menislici
I have a basic html page generated through php and it prints to a printer after a link click using Ben Nadel's print plugin. However, I don't want the user to print the page again. I tried setting the 'print' link to a negative z-index using jquery after it's being clicked, but the user can refresh the page and reuse the link so it would print again. I also know that I can somehow disable the refresh feature, by modifying what F5 does, but that would't save the day since the user can refresh the page through the url bar, and I can't remove/hide, it as much as I know. It also runs on localhost so the user client and server are on the same side. Even the browser doesn't matter since I could use the one that fits this case.

  • How to pass parameters for OPENDATASOURCE

    - by Rapunzo
I can connect to a linked server with this: SELECT testNo, soruTuruId, soruNo, cevap , degerlendirenTcNo, degerlendirilenTcNo FROM OPENDATASOURCE('SQLOLEDB', 'Data Source=192.168.150.42;User ID=readerUser;Password=1').akreditasyon.dbo.tblPerfCevap But I have to pass the password as parameter. and I try like this: SET @connectionString = 'Data Source=192.168.150.42;User ID=readerUser;Password='+@pw SELECT testNo, soruTuruId, soruNo, cevap , degerlendirenTcNo, degerlendirilenTcNo FROM OPENDATASOURCE('SQLOLEDB', @connectionString ).akreditasyon.dbo.tblPerfCevap and SELECT testNo, soruTuruId, soruNo, cevap , degerlendirenTcNo, degerlendirilenTcNo FROM OPENDATASOURCE('SQLOLEDB', 'Data Source=192.168.150.42;User ID=readerUser;Password='+@pw ).akreditasyon.dbo.tblPerfCevap but didnt work:S does anyone have an idea?

  • Redirecting image to php page.

    - by Searock
Hi, Is it possible to redirect a user to a php page and then redirect to different image, if the user is requesting for the image ? For example if user requests for the image or if other website requests for the image, it should be redirected to the php page and then redirected to a different image. Like if other website requests for http://example.com/images/a.gif, the website will get a different image i.e. http://example.com/images/b.gif. Is it possible? Let me know if I am not clear with my problem. Thanks. Edit : I am trying to create avatar changer for a forum, but the problem is that I cannot add a php link to my avatar. So I think if I could add a image link and when the forum requests the image I could redirect it internally to a php page and then from the php page I would redirect it to a different image.

  • Drupal - Hide a single page from search index

    - by ilowe
Hi, I've taken over an existing Drupal installation and have been asked to remove a single page from the site search results. I know about the lullabot tutorial through this question: http://stackoverflow.com/questions/1748837/hide-drupal-nodes-from-search, but that talks about excluding a class of content when I really just want to exclude a single page. I've tried manually deleting the node from the search_index table, but that didn't seem to work either. Any recommendations for excluding a single regular content page from the search index?

  • How reference popup object when opener page changes?

    - by achairapart
This is driving me crazy! Scenario: The main page opens a pop-up window and later calls a function in it: newWin = window.open(someurl,'newWin',options); ...some code later... newWin.remoteFunction(options); and it's ok. Now, popup is still open and Main Page changes to Page 2. In Page 2 newWin doesn't exist anymore and I need to recreate the popup window object reference in order to call again the remote function (newWin.remoteFunction) I tried something like: newWin = open('','newWin', options); if (!newWin || newWin.closed || !newWin.remoteFunction) { newWin = window.open(someurl,'newWin',options); } And it works, I can call newWin.remoteFunction again BUT Safari for some reason gives Focus() to the popup window everytime the open() method is called breaking the navigation (I absolutely need the popup working in the background). Only workaround I can think to solve this is to create an interval in the popup with: if(window.opener && !window.opener.newWin) window.opener.newWin = self; and then set another interval in the opener Page with some try/catch but it is inelegant and very inefficient. so, I wonder, it's really so hard to get the popup object reference between different pages in the opener window?

  • Encrypted HTML page without HTTPS

    - by Tichomir Mitkov
I have a Perl script to open this page http://svejo.net/popular/all/new/ and filter the names of the posts but except headers everything seems encrypted. Nothing can be read. When I open the same page in a browser everything looks fine including the source code. How is it possible to encrypt a page for a script and not for a browser? My Perl script sends the same headers as my browser (Google Chrome).

  • Passing System classes as constructor parameters

    - by mcl
This is probably crazy. I want to take the idea of Dependency Injection to extremes. I have isolated all System.IO-related behavior into a single class so that I can mock that class in my other classes and thereby relieve my larger suite of unit tests of the burden of worrying about the actual file system. But the File IO class I end up with can only be tested with integration tests, which-- of course-- introduces complexity I don't really want to deal with when all I really want to do is make sure my FileIO class calls the correct System.IO stuff. I don't need to integration test System.IO. My FileIO class is doing more than simply wrapping System.IO functions, every now and then it does contain some logic (maybe this is the problem?). So what I'd like is to be able to test my File IO class to ensure that it makes the correct system calls by mocking the System.IO classes themselves. Ideally this would be as easy as having a constructor like so: public FileIO( System.IO.Directory directory, System.IO.File file, System.IO.FileStream fileStream ) { this.Directory = directory; this.File = file; this.FileStream = fileStream; } And then calling in methods like: public GetFilesInFolder(string folderPath) { return this.Directory.GetFiles(folderPath) } But this doesn't fly since the System.IO classes in question are static classes. As far as I can tell they can neither be instantiated in this way or subclassed for the purposes of mocking.

  • When is a parameterized method call useful?

    - by johann-christoph-jacob
A Java method call may be parameterized like in the following code: class Test { <T> void test() { } public static void main(String[] args) { new Test().<Object>test(); // ^^^^^^^^ } } I found out this is possible from the Eclipse Java Formatter settings dialog and wondered if there are any cases where this is useful or required.

  • Drupal: How to Render Results of Form on Same Page as Form

    - by Aaron
    How would I print the results of a form submission on the same page as the form itself? Relevant hook_menu: $items['admin/content/ncbi_subsites/paths'] = array( 'title' => 'Paths', 'description' => 'Paths for a particular subsite', 'page callback' => 'ncbi_subsites_show_path_page', 'access arguments' => array( 'administer site configuration' ), 'type' => MENU_LOCAL_TASK, ); page callback: function ncbi_subsites_show_path_page() { $f = drupal_get_form('_ncbi_subsites_show_paths_form'); return $f; } Form building function: function _ncbi_subsites_show_paths_form() { // bunch of code here $form['subsite'] = array( '#title' => t('Subsites'), '#type' => 'select', '#description' => 'Choose a subsite to get its paths', '#default_value' => 'Choose a subsite', '#options'=> $tmp, ); $form['showthem'] = array( '#type' => 'submit', '#value' => 'Show paths', '#submit' => array( 'ncbi_subsites_show_paths_submit'), ); return $form; } Submit function (skipped validate function for brevity) function ncbi_subsites_show_paths_submit( &$form, &$form_state ) { //dpm ( $form_state ); $subsite_name = $form_state['values']['subsite']; $subsite = new Subsite( $subsite_name ); //y own class that I use internally in this module $paths = $subsite->normalized_paths; // build list $list = theme_item_list( $paths ); } If I print that $list variable, it is exactly what I want, but I am not sure how to get it into the page with the original form page built from 'ncbi_subsites_show_path_page'. Any help is much appreciated!

  • C#: Convert array to use in params with additional parameters

    - by user1805759
I have a method that takes params. Inside the method another variable shall be added to the output: private void ParamsTest(params object[] objs) { var foo = "hello"; // Invalid: Interpretes objs as single array parameter: Console.WriteLine("{0}, {1}, {2}", foo, objs); } When I call ParamsTest("Hi", "Ho"); I would like to see the output. hello Hi Ho What do I need to do? I can copy foo and objs into a new array and pass that array to WriteLine but is there a more elegant way to force objs to behave as params again? Kind of objs.ToParams()?

  • ViewState Vs Session ... maintaining object through page lifecycle

    - by Kyle
Can someone please explain the difference between ViewState and Session? More specifically, I'd like to know the best way to keep an object available (continuously setting members through postbacks) throughout the lifecycle of my page. I currently use Sessions to do this, but I'm not sure if it's the best way. For example: SearchObject searchObject; protected void Page_Load(object sender, EventArgs e) { if(!IsPostBack) { searchObject = new SearchObject(); Session["searchObject"] = searchObject; } else { searchObject = (SearchObject)Session["searchObject"]; } } that allows me to use my searchObject anywhere else on my page but it's kind of cumbersome as I have to reset my session var if I change any properties etc. I'm thinking there must be a better way to do this so that .NET doesn't re-instantiate the object each time the page loads, but also puts it in the global scope of the Page class? Please advise. TIA

  • Downloading a web page and all of its resource files in Python

    - by Mark
I want to be able to download a page and all of its associated resources (images, style sheets, script files, etc) using Python. I am (somewhat) familiar with urllib2 and know how to download individual urls, but before I go and start hacking at BeautifulSoup + urllib2 I wanted to be sure that there wasn't already a Python equivalent to "wget --page-requisites http://www.google.com". Specifically I am interested in gathering statistical information about how long it takes to download an entire web page, including all resources. Thanks Mark

  • Detecting and reloading updated application parameters at runtime

    - by VeeKayBee
I am working on an ASP.NET web application(using .NET 4.5 and C#).The application deals with lot of units (for measuring like KG,Litre,KM etc). So based on the selected unit we have to implement some allowed range. This values can be configured without much effort. We identified two solutions for this Keeping a configuration xml. Suppose the values in xml, does it requires an iisreset or any other thing which can take the site down for some time, if we are changing the xml file to change some validation. Keeping in Db, then use SQL dependency caching. So an update to DB can reflect the caching values.SO i believe if we change the values, it will update the cache. How much complex is this and does it effect the performance ? It will be great helpful, if we have some other method to achieve this. Thanks in advance.

  • [VB.Net] Typecasting generic parameters.

    - by CFP
Hello world! Using the following code: Function GetSetting(Of T)(ByVal SettingName As String, ByRef DefaultVal As T) As T Return If(Configuration.ContainsKey(SettingName), CType(Configuration(SettingName), T), DefaultVal) End Function Yields the following error: Value of type 'String' cannot be converted to 'T'. Any way I could specify that in all cases, the conversion will indeed be possible (I'm basically getting integers, booleans, doubles and strings). Thanks!
