  • How exactly is a PHP script executed?

    I was just thinking to myself "How exactly is a PHP script executed?" I thought it was parsed first for syntax errors etc, and then interpreted and executed. However, I don't know why I believe that is correct. I'm probably wrong. So, how exactly is a PHP file interpreted and executed? What stages does this involve? How do included files fit into the parsing of the script? This is just to help me get my head around it. I'm interested and can not find a good answer with Google. Thanks!

  • Strange javascript error when using Kongregates API

    In the hopes of finding a fellow unity3d developer also aiming for the Kongregate contest.. I've implemented the Kongregate API and can see that the game receives a call with my username and presents it ingame. I'm using Application.ExternalCall("kongregate.stats.submit",type,amount); where type is a string "Best Score" and amount is an int (1000 or something). This is the error I'm getting: You are trying to call recursively into the Flash Player which is not allowed. In most cases the JavaScript setTimeout function, can be used as a workaround. callASFunction:function(a,b){if(FABrid...tion, can be used as a workaround."); I'm wondering, has anyone else had this error or am I somehow doing something stupid?   • IPv6 parsing in C

    I wanted to know how i can parse an IPv6 address in 'C' and convert it to a 128 bit value? So a hex address like 1:22:333:aaaa:b:c:d:e:f needs to be converted to its 128 bit equivalent binary. The problem is the IP address could be of the type ::2 and its variant since they are valid IPv6 address. The input is from the keyboard and hence is in ASCII format. Any suggestions or pointers will be appreciated. Thanks!!!

  • Treetop basic parsing and regular expression usage

    I'm developing a script using the ruby Treetop library and having issues working with its syntax for regex's. First off, many regular expressions that work in other settings dont work the same in treetop. This is my grammar: (myline.treetop) grammar MyLine rule line string whitespace condition end rule string [\S]* end rule whitespace [\s]* end rule condition "new" / "old" / "used" end end This is my usage: (usage.rb) require 'rubygems' require 'treetop' require 'polyglot' require 'myline' parser = MyLineParser.new p parser.parse("randomstring new") This should find the word new for sure and it does! Now I wont to extend it so that it can find new if the input string becomes "randomstring anotherstring new yetanother andanother" and possibly have any number of strings followed by whitespace (tab included) before and after the regex for rule condition. In other words, if I pass it any sentence with the word "new" etc in it, it should be able to match it. So let's say I change my grammar to: rule line string whitespace condition whitespace string end Then, it should be able to find a match for: p parser.parse("randomstring new anotherstring") So, what do I have to do to allow the string whitespace to be repeated before and after condition? If I try to write this: rule line (string whitespace)* condition (whitespace string)* end , it goes in an infinite loop. If i replace the above () with [], it returns nil In general, regex's return a match when i use the above, but treetop regex's dont. Does anyone have any tips/points on how to go about this? Plus, since there isn't much documentation for treetop and the examples are either too trivial or too complex, is there anyone who knows a more thorough documentation/guide for treetop?

    Hi all, I am having trouble installing Enclosure and getting it to work. I have followed this guide http://www.enclojure.org/gettingstarted and successfully installed Enclosure (I think). However, when I try to build the sample application (labrepl) I get a bunch of errors and a failed build. I haven't used Java in a long time and I've never used Netbeans, and the error doesn't seem very helpful with my limited knowledge of this domain. I'm using the latest Netbeans and the Enclosure URL from the guide. Since I am on Windows, I can't use git to clone the repo, so I'm not sure what to do from here. For that purpose I though of building cli utility. The utility will connect to the application and send user commands (one line strings) to the application and wait for response from the application. The command should contain: - command name (e.g. display-session-table/set-log-level etc.) - optionally command may have several arguments (e.g. log-level=10) The question to choose syntax and to learn parse it fast and correctly.     I have a route defined in CI, $route['user/activate-account/:any'] = "user/activate_account"; People access the route in this url pattern, http://mydomain.com/user/activate-account/user_id/12345/token/abcdefghijk Inside the activate_account function, I tried to use the following codes to retrieve the required data, $user_id=$this->input->get('user_id'); $token=$this->input->get('token'); But they return FALSE, does this mean that for this kind of url pattern, I am supposed to use the functions provided by the URI class (http://codeigniter.com/user_guide/libraries/uri.html) to retrieve the variables?

  • Android: debug certificate expired error

    I started up Eclipse today, created a new project, and immediately had an error before I had changed a single line: Error generating final archive: Debug Certificate expired on 11/12/11 When installed, the Android SDK generates a "debug" signing certificate for you in a file called "debug.keystore". Eclipse uses this certificate rather than forcing you to create a new one for every project. In older versions of Eclipse, the certificate was only valid for 365 days, but as I understand it the default has been changed to 30 years in newer versions. If for whatever reason you don't want to upgrade Eclipse, you can manually delete the certificate to for Eclipse to generate a new one. You can find the location in Preferences -> Android -> Build -> Default debug keystore (mine was in C:\Users\myUserName\.android\); just delete the "debug.keystore" file, then go back into Eclipse and Clean the project to generate a new file.

    Hi, I would like to do something similar what we do in ASP.NET where we parse through all the rows in a GridView and assign a particular value to a particular cell in a row which has a matching TaskId as the current Id. This has to happen in a Tick function of a Dispatcher Timer object. Since I have a Start Timer button Column for every row in a GridView. Upon a particular row's Start Timer Button click, I have to start its timer and display in a cell in that row. Similarly there can be multiple timers running in parallel. For this I need to be able to check the task Id of the particular task and keep updating the cell values with the updated time in all of the tasks that have a Timer Started. TimeSpan TimeRemaining = somevalue; string CurrentTaskId = "100"; foreach(GridViewRow row in RadGridView1.Rows) // Here I tried RadGridView1.ChildrenOfType() as well but it has null { if( (row.DataContext as Task).TaskId == CurrentTaskId ) row.Cells[2].Content = a.TaskTimeRemaining.ToString(); } Can someone please let me know how do I get this functionality using the Telerik RadGridView?   • "Unable to install initrd-tools" error during installation.

    Was trying to install Ubuntu from a CD on a machine which already has windows on it, choose the option of "Resize IDE1 master (hda) and use freed space" during the "Install the base system" step. After that i get the error: Unable to install initrd-tools. An error was returned while trying to install the initrd-tools package into the target system. Check /target/var/log/bootstrap.log for details. The problem is one one hand i cannot proceed with the complete installation and on other hand if i remove the CD, am not able to boot windows as it says No bootable device. Would highly appreciate for any recommendations.

  • What does intermittent "Input/output error" suggest?

    Lately my Ubuntu 12 system has started acting very strange. Sometimes the computer freezes and then unfreezes 2 minutes later, and other times when I try a basic command like less I get the error bash: /usr/bin/less: Input/output error. But this is intermittent too. Any suggestions? Also if I try sudo reboot and enter my password, I get sudo: unable to open /var/lib/sudo/plato/7: Read-only file system Before I used to be able to do sudo reboot fine. If I tail /var/log/syslog I do see these curious lines: .... ata1: softreset failed (device not ready) .... ata1: hard resettting link .... ata1: link is slow to respond, please be patient (ready=0) What can I do to fix this?

    Hey guys, I'm trying to parse an xml file to return a item with a specific id only, but having trouble making it work. here's what I have in php $xml_str = file_get_contents("test.xml"); $xml = simplexml_load_string($xml_str); $albid = $_GET['id']; $nodes = $xml->xpath('//library/book[@id=1]'); foreach($nodes as $node) { echo $node['title'].'<br/>'; } First, the php is not returning anything from the xml file. What would I need to fix to return the data? Also, how would I enter $albid into the xpath so that the id will be retrieved from the link? Any pointers in the right direction would be appreciated.   • Disable automatic Date parsing in HtmlUnit

    Having just upgraded to a newer version of HtmlUnit (2.4), I've noticed certain tests are failing when comparing the output of asText. Looking into the differences, this is because dates (present on the page in the format 11/06/2010 00:00z) are being altered in the output to read 2010-06-11. Has anybody else encountered this, and can anybody advise how to turn off this (seemingly undocumented) feature of asText, which seems to go completely against the advised documentation.

    Hi I just updated my ubuntu to the latest and on package manager it told me all my gnome packages were broken and i couldn't make any updates until i deleted the gnomes. i had no idea that would screw me. anyways i logged out now i cant login anymore. it flashes right back to the login screen. and it looks very downgraded. anywho, i have no idea how to fix it, ive been looking online for a while. and everytime i try to remove or add anything, upgrade. i get this error.errors were encountered while processing: E: Sub-process /usr/bin/dpkg returned an error code (1) so confused

After some reformatting (e.g. change sin 5 into sin(5)), and doing an eval, PHP gives me the right result: $problem = "5 + 5324"; eval("$result = " . $problem); echo $problem .
