  • Use jQuery to match variable text?

    - by VUELA
    Hello! I have a sidebar navigation that lists blog entry titles down the side of the page. I am trying to write some jquery that will check the text in the title of the current full blog entry page and match it with the corresponding title in the sidebar navigation so that I can apply a class to style for an active state link ... but I'm not quite getting it! Here is the link to an example page: http://ncw-commercial.com/property-listings/eastpoint-plaza-lot.html, and below is my current code. I have also tried using :contains but could not figure out how to get that to work with a variable rather than direct text. $('.single-journal-entry-wrapper .journal-entry .title').each(function(){ var activeTitle = $(this).text(); $(".feedburnerFeedBlock .headline a").filter(function(index) { return $(this).text() == "activeTitle"; }).parent().addClass("activeTitle"); });

  • Need help with text animation within UITableViewCell

    - by gdiphone
    I'm trying to implement a simple text animation in a custom UITableViewCell without having to go into editing mode which automatically brings up the delete button on the right. What I'm trying to accomplish is that when the label is updated by a button within the UITableviewcell, the text in the label is updated but with some smooth animation like sliding to the right since the updated text is prepended to the string. Any sample code would be great. thanks

  • Reduce text length to fit cell width in a smart manner

    - by Andrei Ciobanu
    Hello, I am in project where we are building a simple web calendar using Java EE technologies. We define a table where every row is an employee, and every column represents an hour interval. The table width and column widths are adjustable. In every cell we have a text retrieved from a database, indicating what the employee is doing / should do in that time interval. The problem is that sometimes the text in cells is getting bigger than the actual cell. My task is to make the text more "readable" by reducing it's length in a "smart way" so that it can fit in the cell more "gracefully". For example if initially in a cell I have: "Writing documents", after the resize I should retrieve: "Wrtng. dcmnts" or "Writ. docum." so that the text can fit well. Is there a smart way to do it ? Or removing vocals / split the string in two is enough ?

  • Strings - Filling In Leading Zeros Wtih A Zero

    - by headscratch
    I'm reading an array of hard-coded strings of numeric characters - all positions are filled with a character, even for the leading zeros. Thus, can confidently parse it using substring(start, end) to convert to numeric. Example: "0123 0456 0789" However, a string coming from a database does not fill in the leading zero with a 'zero character', it simply fetches the '123 456 789', which is correct for an arithmetic number but not for my needs and makes for parsing trouble. Before writing conditionals to check for leading zeros and adding them to the string if needed, is there a simple way of specifying they be filled with a character ? I'm not finding this in my Java book... I could have done the three conditionals in the time it took to post this but, this is more about 'education'... Thanks

  • Javascript: How to escape Unicode Chars

    - by user293006
    JSON String: { "id":31896, "name":"Zickey attitude - McKinley, La Rosi\u00e8re, 21 ao\u00fbt 2006", ... } this causes an unterminated string in javascript. my focus on solution is: data.replace(/(\S)\1(\1)+/g, ''); or data.replace(/\u([0-9A-Z])/, ''); any ideas/solution? example: http://api.jamendo.com/get2/id+name+url+stream+album_name+album_url+album_id+artist_id+artist_name/track/jsonpretty/track_album+album_artist/?n=13&order=ratingmonth_desc&tag_idstr=jazz last node is the problem, fyi. (/\u([0-9A-Z])/, '\1');

  • Efficient mapping for a particular finite integer set

    - by R..
    I'm looking for a small, fast (in both directions) bijective mapping between the following list of integers and a subset of the range 0-127: 0x200C, 0x200D, 0x200E, 0x200F, 0x2013, 0x2014, 0x2015, 0x2017, 0x2018, 0x2019, 0x201A, 0x201C, 0x201D, 0x201E, 0x2020, 0x2021, 0x2022, 0x2026, 0x2030, 0x2039, 0x203A, 0x20AA, 0x20AB, 0x20AC, 0x20AF, 0x2116, 0x2122 One obvious solution is: y = x>>2 & 0x40 | x & 0x3f; x = 0x2000 | y<<2 & 0x100 | y & 0x3f; Edit: I was missing some of the values, particularly 0x20Ax, which don't work with the above. Another obvious solution is a lookup table, but without making it unnecessarily large, a lookup table would require some bit rearrangement anyway and I suspect the whole task can be better accomplished with simple bit rearrangement. For the curious, those magic numbers are the only "large" Unicode codepoints that appear in legacy ISO-8859 and Windows codepages.

  • Population count of rightmost n integers

    - by Jason Baker
    I'm implementing Bagwell's Ideal Hash Trie in Haskell. To find an element in a sub-trie, he says to do the following: Finding the arc for a symbol s, requires ?nding its corresponding bit in the bit map and then counting the one bits below it in the map to compute an index into the ordered sub-trie. What is the best way to do this? It sounds like the most straightforward way of doing this is to select the bits below that bit and do a population count on the resulting number. Is there a faster or better way to do this?

  • Handling "other" option in dropdown select with free text input field

    - by ted776
    Hi, I'm trying to figure out the best way to handle a dropdown list where one of the options "other" shows a hidden text field (via jQuery), where the user can then enter text. Should both the dropdown and the input field be given the same "name" attribute, then server side code runs a check on the values of each in order to know what one is the active value - e.g if the value of the select box is "other", then check the value of the text input field - if this isn't the default value ("enter text"), then it's ok to use this value and save it to the database. Is this a messy approach to this problem?

  • C++ stringstream reads all zero's

    - by user69514
    I have a file which contains three integers per line. When I read the line I use a stringstream to separate the values, but it only reads the first value as it is. The other two are read as zero's. ifstream inputstream(filename.c_str()); if( inputstream.is_open() ){ string line; stringstream ss; while( getline(inputstream, line) ){ //check line and extract elements int id; double income; int members; ss.clear(); ss.str(line); ss >> id >> income >> members; In the case above, id is extracted correctly, but income, and members get assigned zero instead of the actual value.

  • Need help, stuck on "How to send text message using java script to avoid post back"

    - by user287745
    this is what i have implemented, for further code, how to send this text of the text box to the server to store in variable or database without post back. it can be done by using ajax and update plane but i wold like to implement it using javascript script. <div id="CommentID" style=" width:30%; height:30%"> <asp:Button ID="Button1" runat="server" Text="Comment" OnClientClick="visibleDiv('id1'); return false;" /> <div id="id1" runat="server" style="visibility: hidden; background-color:Green; width:100%; height:100%"> <asp:TextBox ID="TextBox1" runat="server" AutoCompleteType="Disabled" Rows="3" TextMode="MultiLine" Width="98%"></asp:TextBox> <asp:Button ID="Button2" runat="server" Text="Post" onclick="Button2_Click" /> <asp:Button ID="Button3" runat="server" Text="Cancel" OnClientClick="visibleDiv('id1'); return false;" /> </div> </div>

  • split a string into a key => value array in php

    - by andy-score
    +2-1+18*+7-21+3*-4-5+6x29 The above string is an example of the kind of string I'm trying to split into either a key = value array or something similar. The numbers represent the id of a class and -,+ and x represent the state of the class (minimised, expanded or hidden), the * represents a column break. I can split this into the columns easily using explode which gives and array with 3 $key = $value associations. eg. $column_layout = array( [0] => '+2-1+18' , [1] => '+7-21+3' , [2] => '-4-5+6x29' ) I then need to split this into the various classes from there, keeping the status and id together. eg. $column1 = array( '+' => 2 , '-' => 1 , '+' => 18 ) ... or $column1 = array( array( '+' , 2 ) , array( '-' , 1 ) , array( '+' , 18 ) ) ... I can't quite get my head round this and what the best way to do it is, so any help would be much appreciated.

  • C#: Loop through substring patterns in a string

    - by ilann
    my pattern is the following: {(code)} where code is a number (up to 6 digits), or 2 letter followed by a number. For example: {(45367)} {(265367)} {(EF127012)} I want to find all occurrences in a long string, I can't just use pure regex , because I need to preform some action when i find a match (like logging the position and the type of the match).

  • How do I unpack bits from a structure's stream_data in c code?

    - by Chelp
    Ex. typedef struct { bool streamValid; dword dateTime; dword timeStamp; stream_data[800]; } RadioDataA; Ex. Where stream_data[800] contains: **Variable** **Length (in bits)** packetID 8 packetL 8 versionMajor 4 versionMinor 4 radioID 8 etc.. I need to write: void unpackData(radioDataA *streamData, MA_DataA *maData) { //unpack streamData (from above) & put some of the data into maData //How do I read in bits of data? I know it's by groups of 8 but I don't understand how. //MAData is also a struct. }
