  • Does ADFS2.0 provide custom authentication stores?

    - by chugh97
I wanted to find out if ADFS2.0 provides a way for users to be authenticated with a Custom Store? Version 1.0 you could only authenticate users in the Windows domain, using Forms/Windows Integrated/Cardspace. I have an ASP.NEt website, which I would like the users to be authenticated against a custom store in SQL and then ADFS2.0 to take care of the claims issued to the user...

  • PHP: Is mysql_real_escape_string sufficient for cleaning user input?

    - by Thomas
Is mysql_real_escape_string sufficient for cleaning user input in most situations? ::EDIT:: I'm thinking mostly in terms of preventing SQL injection but I ultimately want to know if I can trust user data after I apply mysql_real_escape_string or if I should take extra measures to clean the data before I pass it around the application and databases. I see where cleaning for HTML chars is important but I wouldn't consider it necessary for trusting user input. T

  • PostgreSQL data comparsion tool

    - by user179056
Hello, I am looking for a tool/command which can compare data between two PostgreSQL databases. The reason to do this is to have some external verification that the SQL script responsible for data migration from one PostgreSQL database to the other have been written correctly. Any pointers would be appreciated regards Sameer

  • Mysql: Perform of NOT EXISTS. Is it possible to improve permofance?

    - by petRUShka
I have two tables posts and comments. Table comments have post_id attribute. I need to get all posts with type "open", for which there are no comments with type "good" and created date MAY 1. Is it optimal to use such SQL-query: SELECT posts.* FROM posts WHERE NOT EXISTS ( SELECT comments.id FROM comments WHERE comments.post_id = posts.id AND comments.comment_type = 'good' AND comments.created_at BETWEEN '2010-05-01 00:00:00' AND '2010-05-01 23:59:59') I'm not sure that NOT EXISTS is perfect construction in this situation.

  • Complicted ActiveRecord Association. Going through a 4th table

    - by Dex
I have kind of a complicated case and am wondering how this would work in rails: I want to categories the genres of some singers. Singers can belong to more than one genres, and users can assign tags to each genre For example: singers <-- singers_genres -- genres <-- genres_tags -- tags SQL would look something like: SELECT * FROM singers S INNER JOIN singers_genres SG ON S.id=SG.singer_id INNER JOIN genres G ON G.id = SG.genre_id LEFT OUTER JOIN genre_tags GT ON G.id = GT.genre_id INNER JOIN tags T ON GT.tag_id = T.id

  • LockMode With Subclasses

    - by Lester
I'm using Fluent Nhibernate with the following query on DerivedClass which extends BaseClass: var query = Session.CreateCriteria<DerivedClass>().SetLockMode(LockMode.Upgrade) What I want is the lock hints (updlock, rowlock) to be applied to both DerivedClass and BaseClass, but the generated SQL only applies the lock hints to DerivedClass: SELECT * FROM DerivedClass this_ with (updlock, rowlock) inner join [BaseClass] this_1_ on this_.Id=this_1_.Id WHERE ... This is the same situation described in http://opensource.atlassian.com/projects/hibernate/browse/HHH-2392 If anyone could point me in the right direction it would be much appreciated.

  • List MySQL enum in Java

    - by Pieter
Is there a way to get all possible values from a MySQL enum column? The MySQL documentation says the MySQL enum type is returned as a Java String, so I basically would like a way to get all possible strings I can pass when querying a table with such an enum. I couldn't immediately find anything when I was looking through the metadata returned for such a column, but since enum isn't standard SQL, I'm not sure it's even possible... any suggestions?

  • Rails migration for change column

    - by b_ayan
We have script/generate migration add_fieldname_to_tablename fieldname:datatype syntax for adding new columns to a model. On the same line, do we have a script/generate for changing the datatype of a column? Or should I write sql directly into my vanilla migration? I want to change a column from datetime to date. Thanks

  • How to make multiple queries with PHP prepared statements (Commands out of sync error)

    - by Tirithen
    I'm trying to run three MySQL queries from a PHP script, the first one works fine, but on the second one I get the "Commands out of sync; you can’t run this command now" error. I have managed to understand that I need to "empty" the resultset before preparing a new query but I can't seem to understand how. I thought that $statement-close; would do that for me. Here is the relevant part of the code: <?php $statement = $db_conn->prepare("CALL getSketches(?,?)"); // Prepare SQL routine to check if user is accepted $statement->bind_param("is", $user_id, $loaded_sketches); // Bind variables to send $statement->execute(); // Execute the query $statement->bind_result( // Set return varables $id, $name, $description, $visibility, $createdby_id, $createdby_name, $createdon, $permission ); $new_sketches_id = array(); while($statement->fetch()) { $result['newSketches'][$id] = array( "name" => $name, "description" => $description, "visibility" => $visibility, "createdById" => $createdby_id, "createdByName" => $createdby_name, "createdOn" => $createdon, "permission" => $permission ); $new_sketches_id[] = $id; } $statement->close; // Close satement $new_sketches_ids = implode(",", $new_sketches_id); // Get the new sketches elements $statement = $db_conn->prepare("CALL getElements(?,'',?,'00000000000000')"); // Prepare SQL routine to check if user is accepted // The script crashes here with $db_conn->error // "Commands out of sync; you can't run this command now" $statement->bind_param("si", $new_sketches_ids, $user_id); // Bind variables to send $statement->execute(); // Execute the query $statement->bind_result( // Set return varables $id, $user_id, $type, $attribute_d, $attribute_stroke, $attribute_strokeWidth, $sketch_id, $createdon ); while($statement->fetch()) { $result['newSketches'][$sketch_id]['newElements']["u".$user_id."e".$id] = array( "type" => $type, "d" => $attribute_d, "stroke" => $attribute_stroke, "strokeWidth" => $attribute_strokeWidth, ); } $statement->close; // Close satement ?> How can I make the second query without closing and reopening the entire database connection?

  • Rails activerecord attributes=

    - by vinhboy
Hi, I am doing this: @person.attributes = params[:person] Can anyone give me a clue as to why doing an attributes= would cause a bunch of SQL to show in my logs? I see a couple of SELECT and even an UPDATE. I swear I am not doing a "save" -- so I have no idea why setting attributes would trigger queries. Is there a before_ of after_ filter I am missing? Thanks.

  • What kind of events should be created for a CRUD application?

    - by Mohit Deshpande
I have an application that is centered around a database (ORM is LINQ-SQL) that has a table called Assignment. I am using the repository pattern to manipulate the database. My application is basically going to perform CRUD operations. I am new to delegates and events and I am asking you what events I should create (like maybe AssignmentCreating, AssignmentCreated) and what kind of delegate to use (like maybe a custom delegate or just an EventHandler)?

  • Dynamic Objects for ASPxGridview

    - by André Snede Hansen
I have a dictionary that is populated with data from a table, we are doing this so we can hold multiple SQL tables inside this object. This approached cannot be discussed. The Dictionary is mapped as a , and contains SQL column name and the value, and each dictionary resembles one row entry in the Table. Now I need to display this on a editable gridview, preferably the ASPxGridView. I already figured out that I should use Dynamic Objects(C#), and everything worked perfectly, up to the part where I find out that the ASPxGridview is built in .NET 2.0 and not 4.0 where Dynamic objects where implemented, therefor I cannot use it... As you cannot, to my knowledge, add rows to the gridview programmatically, I am out of ideas, and seek your help guys! protected void Page_Load(object sender, EventArgs e) { UserValidationTableDataProvider uvtDataprovider = _DALFactory.getProvider<UserValidationTableDataProvider>(typeof(UserValidationTableEntry)); string[] tableNames = uvtDataprovider.TableNames; UserValidationTableEntry[] entries = uvtDataprovider.getAllrecordsFromTable(tableNames[0]); userValidtionTableGridView.Columns.Clear(); Dictionary<string, string> firstEntry = entries[0].Values; foreach (KeyValuePair<string, string> kvp in firstEntry) { userValidtionTableGridView.Columns.Add(new GridViewDataColumn(kvp.Key)); } var dynamicObjectList = new List<dynamic>(); foreach (UserValidationTableEntry uvt in entries) { //dynamic dynObject = new MyDynamicObject(uvt.Values); dynamicObjectList.Add(new MyDynamicObject(uvt.Values)); } } public class MyDynamicObject : DynamicObject { Dictionary<string, string> properties = new Dictionary<string, string>(); public MyDynamicObject(Dictionary<string, string> dictio) { properties = dictio; } // If you try to get a value of a property // not defined in the class, this method is called. public override bool TryGetMember(GetMemberBinder binder, out object result) { // Converting the property name to lowercase // so that property names become case-insensitive. string name = binder.Name.ToLower(); string RResult; // If the property name is found in a dictionary, // set the result parameter to the property value and return true. // Otherwise, return false. bool wasSuccesfull = properties.TryGetValue(name, out RResult); result = RResult; return wasSuccesfull; } // If you try to set a value of a property that is // not defined in the class, this method is called. public override bool TrySetMember(SetMemberBinder binder, object value) { // Converting the property name to lowercase // so that property names become case-insensitive. properties[binder.Name.ToLower()] = value.ToString(); // You can always add a value to a dictionary, // so this method always returns true. return true; } } Now, I am almost certain that his "Dynamic object" approach, is not the one I can go with from here on. I hope you guys can help me :)!
