Of course I have folders set up to automatically keep them out of my inbox, but if I have hundreds of mailing lists, it gets really out of hand. Is there an application (or web application) that is designed specifically as a mailing list "client"?

  I'm copy-pasting some data from html table into excel. But excel automatically converts some text or number values to date! When I change the format, the number is perversed, the number is something like 4112523 (excel probably interprets the cell as date and then converts to number or something like that...) There is a trick for importing CSV files, but is there any solution when you are pasting your data directly from a web browser?

  I'm trying to use an old parallel-port based printer with a USB-to-parallel port adapter on Windows 7. When I plug it into the USB port on the computer it's listed as an unrecognized device. I know that these cables typically use the "USB Printing Support" driver with makes USB ports show up as printer ports in the printer dialog. Is there a way to manually add USB Printing Support to Windows 7, since it isn't being added automatically?

  When you select some text with Firefox and Chrome for that matter you can right click the highlight text and search some query (highlight the text above and right click) Search Google for "some query" How can I stop it from opening in the new tab. • Is it a good idea to put "screen -r" in my .bashrc?

  I'd like to use screen to keep ssh sessions alive on my server. It would be nice if I could automatically resume any running session for my user when I log in. The straightforward way to do this would be adding "screen -r" to my .bashrc, and this seems to work fine. I'm just wondering if this will break anything under conditions which I haven't tested yet.   Basically, for every new user we have about 30 different installers that all need to be run manually after an install of windows which is tedious/time consuming. We can't simply ghost/image the computers as they come because of the wide variety of hardware being used (all laptops). I know I can add it to the system, and that it would automatically adjust the 400Mhz to 333Mhz. But my question is, which is faster/better for performance: 512 at 400Mhz, or 768 at 333Mhz?

Of course, 30Gb is far too large for a single dvd and the content is already zipped. • Is auto-logon on laptop with encrypted hard drive secure?

  I have the complete hdd of my laptop encrypted (with the Windows built-in Bitlocker) and thus have to login two times upon booting (Bitlocker and user account). Since I'm the only person using the computer (and knowing the Bitlocker password), I was thinking about automatically login into the user account to make the boot process smoother and quicker. In which cases/scenarios is this a bad idea and the additional login gives a true additionally layer of security?
