• Getting 256 colors out of ruby-ncurses

  I've got 256 colors working great in my terminal (test scripts here), but it stops working when I use ncurses (via Ruby-ncurses). Printing the escape sequences given on that page works fine, but when I initialize ncurses 'puts' stops working and I can't output the colors with any of the various ncurses color changing/string output functions I've found. What gives?

  I would like to use Ruby Net::SMTP to send email. The routine send_message( msgstr, from_addr, *to_addrs ) works well in my code for sending email, but it is not clear from this API how to send email to a list of people that need to be blind copied (bcc:). Am I missing something, or is it just not possible with Net::SMTP?

I was able to find how to do it on Windows here Some readings point to creating daemons or cron tasks.   is there a way to turn OFF autosave in rails? I dont' want modifications to an association to automatically save to the database UNTIL i call save on the parent object. some_parent.some_children << child #should not save, just adds to the association! some_parent.save #now parent and children are saved! It this possible or am i barking up the wrong tree?

  I am using XMLRPC to get data from a Java server. I use HashMap as return value for a particular remote call. The server puts a long int into the HashMap (which is returned) along with other data. At the client end, which is ruby, I get all other data but for the long int. How can I get this data at the client?
