• Apache could not reliably determine server

  Apache cannot fully determine domain name when I tried restarting after install. I get this error; sudo /etc/init.d/apache2 restart *Restarting web server config apache2 apache2: Could not reliably determine the server's fully qualified domain name, using 127.0.1.1 for ServerName. Why I'm I seeing 127.0.1.1 I have tried saving ServerName localhost into my /etc/init.d/apache2 but it keeps redirecting me to google search page everytime I type phpmyadmin. Will appreciate an expert help?

  I've added these lines to /etc/apache2/apache2.conf: AddEncoding gzip .svgz AddType image/svg+xml .svg AddType image/svg+xml .svgz But SVG files still appear as broken images on my html page served by Apache. I made sure I restarted the webserver, browser and cleared the cache as well. How do you get SVG files to work with Apache2?

• Why doesn't apache2 consistently load template fragments from memcached?

  I run a webserver on an ubuntu box in the rackspacecloud with django 1.0x, apache2/WSGI and memcached 1.2.2. Some of my templates make use of template fragment caching: {% load cache %} {% cache 604800 keyname %} <!-- cache: {% now "H:i, j. b" %} --> {{ my_content }} {% endcache %} When I reload apache2 everything is fine. If keyname is not set, my_content is generated and keyname is set in memcached. After that, my_content is served from memcached. My problem is that after some hours (notably less time than 604800 seconds ), apache2 seems to stop talking to memcached, and my_content is generated from scratch everytime. When this happens I can still set and get keys from memcached from my python shell. Memcached also has more than enough memory to store keys. But to get apache2 to start talking to memcached again I have to restart apache2, and then it will once again start to get the now several hours old keys from memcached. What can be the reason for this behaviour, and how do I fix it?

  Based on many online sources, in serving static files, Apache2 will create new thread on every different connection... results in resource hungry But how about serving PHP through Apache2 (mod_php, MPM worker, etc)? Does apache will also open new thread like serving static files? (AFAIK, in nginx php-fpm, we can set the max thread, but I dont know how many connection per thread) I'm planning to use Apache2 in serving PHP, and hope it will be same as nginx PHP-FPM or even better in resource usage and performance.

• How to upgrade Apache 2 from 2.2 to 2.4

  I was in the process of doing a test upgrade from Apache 2.2 to 2.4.3. I'm using Ubuntu 10.04. I would have upgraded to 12.04 for this to see if the upgrade would go a lot smoother. Unfortunately, I was told it wasn't an option...so I'm stuck using 10.04.   I have a cloud server with the following specifications: 2vCPUs 4G RAM 160GB Disk Space Network 400Mb/s System Image: Ubuntu 12.04 LTS I am only running Magento CE 1.7.0.2 on this server. Nothing else. Usually, the server has a loading time of 4-5 seconds. Recently, this has dropped to over 30 seconds and sometimes the server just goes away and I get HTTP error reports to my email stating that HTTP requests took more than 20000ms. • decrypting AES files in an apache module?

  I have a client with a security policy compliance requirement to encrypt certain files on disk. The obvious way to do this is with Device-mapper and an AES crypto module However the current system is setup to generate individual files that are encrypted. What are my options for decrypting files on-the-fly in apache? I see that mod_ssl and mod_session_crypto do encryption/decryption or something similar but not exactly what I am after. I could imagine that a PerlSetOutputFilter would work with a suitable Perl script configured, and I also see mod_ext_filter so I could just fork a unix command and decrypt the file, but they both feel like a hack. I am kind of surprised that there is no mod_crypto available...or am I missing something obvious here? Presumably resource-wise the perl filter is the way to go?

• Build specific module in multi-module project

  Hi I have a multi-module project. I thought I can compile only a single module from that multi module project by that line : mvn -amd -pl "module-name" Seems not to work , this command builds only the specific module. Its dependencies are not compiled yet so it fails. Any ideas how to solve that ? Thanks

• Apache HTTPD - Segmentation fault when loading mod_jk module

  I just set up mod_jk with my Apache httpd 2.0.52 installation, but now when I try to start Apache, it has a segmentation fault. I've checked that I am using the mod_jk compiled for 2.0.x.. built against the same version I have, in fact. I've also verified that the path I'm giving to LoadModule is correct, and the permissions and the ownership of the file are the same as the rest of the modules'. When I remove the "LoadModule" command for mod_jk from my httpd.conf, there is no segmentation fault. Nothing shows in Apache's error logs. I have tried restarting the server with this module using both service httpd restart and httpd.   I have a CentOS (5.7 Final) system on which I already have Apache (2.2.3) installed.   I installed apache2 on ubuntu 13.10. If I try to restart it using sudo /etc/init.d/apache2 restart I get this message: AH00558: apache2: Could not reliably determine the server's fully qualified domain name, using 127.0.1.1. Set the 'ServerName' directive globally to suppress this message So I read that I should edit my httpd.conf file. • How to configure apache2 to just save certain POST requests without even passing them to application?

  I'm running apache in front of glassfish server using BalancerMember. For performance reasons I would like that POST requests on certain endpoint are just saved to a file without passing them to application (and to return correct HTTP return code). How to configure apache to do that? EDIT: In other words, if a POST request is for path "http://example.com/upload" then the content of the post (body) should go into a file.

• Apache2 does not start at boot time - Ubuntu 12.04

  I've install apache2 on an Unbuntu 12.04 machine, but I can't get the server to start at boot time. Although I've tried many things : reinstall apache2 run update-rc.d apache2 enable But each time the apache2 is not start after boot time : I get nothing with a pgrep apache2 or a ps -e | grep apache2 UPDATE I've also tried the logging tweak suggested in another related post, but no entries at all can be found in /var/log/syslog What could I do to make it work ? • Problem in apache2 with mod rewrite when setting rules in .conf files instead of .htaccess

  Hi, Because of weird security policies of my hosting provider I have to define my rewrite rules in /etc/apache2/conf.d/examplesite.conf instead of writing them on an .htaccess on the www folder of that site. What I'm trying to do is setup a Wordpress Mu server (http://mu.wordpress.org/forums/topic/17349 ) and so far its working on a 50%. The main blog loads perfectly but other sub blogs (located for example at www.example.com/blog2 ) don't. I'm guessing the problem is that the rewrite rules behave differently when declared at .conf files for each virtual host instead of using .htaccess files. Has anybody else had this problem? How can you fix it?
