this code
var tip = "<p class="adobe-reader-download">Most computers will open PDF documents automatically, but you may need to download <a title='Link to Adobe website-opens in a new window'";
tip +=" href='http://www.adobe.com/products/acrobat/readstep2.html' target='_blank'>Adobe Reader</a>.</p>";
if($("div#maincontent a[href*='.pdf']").length>0){
$("div#maincontent").children(":last-child").after(tip);

<script
type="text/jscript"
src="http://ajax.googleapis.com/ajax/libs/jquery/1.4.2/jquery.min.js">
</script>

Why some people called css+div based layouts to "Tableless Layouts"?
What should we called?
Is "Tableless Layouts" a perfect word? or "css layouts" is more perfect word?
Although for tabular data we always use tables. and just to use div in place of table tr td is not enough. and overuse of div is as bad as table layouts
Is it good to add line-height in body{line-height:1.5} or it would be better if i add separately for tag by tag like p{ line height:1em} etc.
Edit:
body {line-height:in em} create problem with if we put image with float inside
Edit: 24 April 2010:
If i have to add different line heights to elements
like
p { 1.4}
h1 {1.6}
h2 { 1.2}
ul li { 1.1}
then shouldn't i use line height in body { 1.4}
if body { 1.4} and h1 {1.6} then what would be line height for h1?

How to make maintenance document for a website? I've created a site using XHTML ,CSS, jQuery etc. it's big site.

How and what should i keep in maintenance document.
When to use <strong> and when to use <b> or other ways to give look of bold? strong has semantic value ( and useful for screen reader while b is presentation (and even valid in HTML 5).
my question is not what is the difference between strong and b.
The question is when to use semantic tag and when to use just to make text bold
Should I always use <strong> if client's content files (MS word files) has some words bold in content paragraphs?
How can we know when client want to give emphasis to text and when he just want to make text bold for presentation/aesthetic purpose?
If it's client job to tell us, then how to explain this scenario to client to give us clear info on "when he just want to make text bold for presentation/aesthetic purpose" ?
What is the usefulness of these 2 things in CSS reset?
What is the problem in resizing of input elements in IE and in which version?
and if legend color doesn't inherit in IE then how it can be solved adding color:#000;
/*to enable resizing for IE*/
input,
textarea,
select {
*font-size:100%;
}
/*because legend doesn't inherit in IE */
legend {
color:#000;
}
Why same website looks different in different browser.
Differently styled HTML elements in all browser's default css is the only factor for the different looks in different browser of website?
Is there any other factors related to cross browser compatibility?
like
img { background-color:color: color matched to the theme}
or
img { background-image:url (a very very tiny gif image with the text "image loading") }
I'm thinking in the benefit of this when user access site on slow connection then background color will give clue about something is there which is diffrent than text content..
If We are using table for to show tabular data and if we would give width and height to <table> then will it load quickly? will page loading speed improved of table?

If' I use XHTML 1.0 Strict currently then should i leave to use those XHTML Elements/Tags/Attributes which will not in HTML 5 spec.? if I'm using

What is Logically correct and W3C valid way to clear float?
zoom:1 is not valid by W3C and IE8 don't have hash layout problem
overflow:hidden and overflow:hidden
were not made to do this,as the spec
intended overflow to be used
<div class="clear"/> is not
semantically correct and i don't want to add extra markup.
clearfix hack generates content that
really hasn’t any semantic value.
I've asked many questions and read many articles on this issue but haven't find best way.
what are cons to use relative values em and % for fonts, What is rounding problem? and how to avoid/solve rounding problem. Is there any calculator?
