Now, do anyone has experience on applying this path on his Ubuntu kernel?   • A great option for those of us who live by virtual environments, SQL Server 2008 R2 sysprep

    For a long time when creating images for my development environment, I had to install the OS and then sysprep.  Only after that would I then create a differencing drive/image that would have SQL Server. So, the thought of having a base/core image for SQL Server as a template was not easily done.  Well, how do things change?  SQL Server 2008 R2 gives us the option now.   • How can I select values from different rows depending on the most recent entry date, all for the sam

    Basically I have a table which is used to hold employee work wear details. It is formed of the columns: EmployeeID, CostCentre, AssociateLevel, IssueDate, TrouserSize, TrouserLength, TopSize & ShoeSize. An employee can be assigned a pair of trousers, a top and shoes at the same time or only one or two pieces of clothing. As we all know peoples sizes and employee levels can change which is why I need help really. Different types of employees (associatelevels) require different colours of clothing but you can ignore this part. Everytime an employee receives an item of clothing a new row will be inserted into the table with an input date. I need to be able to select the most recent clothes size for each item of clothing for each employee. It is not necessary for all the columns to hold values because an employee could receive trousers or poloshirts at different times in the year. So for example if employee '54664LSS' was given a pair of 'XL' trousers and a 'L' top on 24/03/11 but then received a 'M' top on 26/05/10. The input of these items would be help on two different rows obviously. So if I wanted to select the most recent clothing for each clothes category. Then the values of the 'M' sized top and the 'L' sized trousers would need to be returned. Any help would be greatly appreciated as I'm pretty stuck :(. Thanks.

It would be great if we could have 2 mice on the client's desktop. Or at least if the client could point to somthing without interrupting the server's mouse. A shared whiteboard would be great. Some extra notes: My friend lives far away, and we are using WinXP.

    Does integrating Social HCM into your enterprise make sense? Consider Sam and Christina. Sam is a new hire at a big company. On the job 3 weeks, a question has come up on how to properly file an expense report to get reimbursed. It was covered in the onboarding session, but shockingly enough, Sam didn’t memorize or write down every word of the session. Other blogs have clearly outlined that apart from meeting top recruits’ expectations, Social HCM benefits the organization itself in terms of efficiency, talent performance & measurement. Social can give employers access to relevant communities of prospects and advance the brand. Learning & Development:Employees, learning from the company or from peers, can be kept on top of the latest needed skillsets and engage in self-paced training so as to advance within the company. Performance Management:Just as gamers are egged on by levels and achievements, talent can reach for workplace kudos, be they shout-outs from peers & managers or formally established milestones. Plus employee reviews become consistent and fair as managers have access to the cumulative feedback social offers. Workflow and Collaboration:With workforces dispersing in terms of physical location, social provides a platform that helps eliminate drawbacks that would have brought just 10 years ago. Finding and connecting with just the right colleague to get the most relevant info at any given time has never been more possible…or expected. While yes, marketing has taken the social lead inside the enterprise, HCM (with the word “human” right there in its name) is the obvious locale for the next big integration of social in business. The technology is there. At Oracle, Fusion HCM apps are deeply embedded with Social HCM…just one example of systems taking social across the enterprise.   • HP Probook 4530s great specs, but lagging. Hard Drive?

    I have this laptop, which has a i3 processor, 4gb memory, 7200rpm hard drive. So there is nothing wrong with the specs. Even when I have no applications open, simply closing and opening windows, lags. Or opening the start menu, or dragging icons across the desktop. sometimes even the cursor lags. So I checked out the resource monitor, and the resources using disk activity are svchost Avast ------- my antivirus, but not much System (PID 4) ------ This is using a huge chunk The total disk activity fluctuates between %50 - %100

  • Centos 5.xx Nagios sSMTP mail cannot be sent from nagios server, but works great from console

    I spent last 3 hours of reasearch on how to get nagios to work with email notifications, i need to send emails form work where the only accesible smtp server is the company's one. i managed to get it done from the console using: mail [email protected] working perfectly for the purpouse i set up ssmtp.conf so as: [email protected] mailhub=smtp.company.com:587 [email protected] AuthPass=mypassword FromLineOverride=YES useSTARTTLS=YES rewriteDomain=company.pl hostname=nagios UseTLS=YES i also edited the file /etc/ssmtp/revaliases so as: root:[email protected]:smtp.company.com:587 nagios:[email protected]:smtp.company.com:587 nagiosadmin:[email protected]:smtp.company.com:587 i also edited the file permisions for /etc/ssmtp/* so as: -rwxrwxrwx 1 root nagios 371 lis 22 15:27 /etc/ssmtp/revaliases -rwxrwxrwx 1 root nagios 1569 lis 22 17:36 /etc/ssmtp/ssmtp.conf and i assigned to proper groups i belive: cat /etc/group |grep nagios mail:x:12:mail,postfix,nagios mailnull:x:47:nagios nagios:x:2106:nagios nagcmd:x:2107:nagios when i send mail manualy, i recieve it on my priv box, but when i send mail from nagios the mail log says: Nov 22 17:47:03 certa-vm2 sSMTP[9099]: MAIL FROM:<[email protected]> Nov 22 17:47:03 certa-vm2 sSMTP[9099]: 550 You are not allowed to send mail from this address it says [email protected] and im not allowed to send mails claiming to be [email protected], its suppoused to be [email protected], what am i doing wrong? i ran out of tricks... kind regards Adam xxxx

  • I'm thinking n+1 in a hyper-v r2 cluster managed by scvmm is not a great idea anymore

    Around here the clusters (not hyper-v clusters) are typically configured as n+1, so they are asking me to create a n+1 hyper-v r2 clusters. These will configured with both csv's and live migration and managed via scvmm r2. My thinking is that its a waste in having a node sitting there idle. In my opinion it would be better to have headroom left over for what would traditionally the +1 server spread amongst the N nodes. Anybody have an opinion on this. thanks

  • At what point does the performance gap between GPU & CPU become so great that the CPU is holding back a system?

    I know that generally speaking for gaming performance the GPU is the primary factor which holds back performance, with everything else such as RAM/motherboard/PSU/CPU being secondary in importance to the graphics card. But at some point the other components ARE going to be significant in holding back the whole system! For instance nobody would be silly enough to play modern games with 512MB RAM and the very latest graphics cards (such as an HD7970) as I bet the performance increase over such a system with only 512MB but a mid range card would be non-existent! Thus it would be a "waste" for such a person to buy any high end graphics card without resolving first the system's other problems. The same point applies to other components, such as if it only had a Pentium II a current high end graphics card would be wasted on it! So my core question is how do you determine at what point for your system is spending on extra GPU power be completely "wasted"? (also, a slightly more nuanced question is trying work out at what point might the extra graphics power not be "wasted" but would be "sub optimal" value for money, when the expenditure should then be split around graphics card and other components. As obviously a gamer shouldn't always just spend on upgrading the graphics card! But needs to balance it out)

  • How Lenovo x200(x61) tablet is so great for programming? whats up with so low GHz processors for deb

    for best laptop for programming after reading here looks like its Mac vs Lenovo (tablet, because tablet is only why I would choose it over Mac). I do crave that tablet but low speed processor scares me. Intel Core i5 or i7 in Sony Vaio sounds more attractive (2,26 - 3GHz for lower price). Yes, Lenovo can be fast, like x201, but with good specifications its over $2,000 its a little too much. For a lot of development I just don't want to wait every time while program compiles and builds during debugging. I want it fairly fast and smooth. Can anyone advice their experience with Lenovo's tablets?
