    I have this script that calls a .net WebService msg = $.toJSON( $.ajax({ type: "POST", url: "http://[url]/ETS.UI/WebServices/LocationService.asmx/GetMappingLocationDetails", contentType: "application/json; charset=utf-8", data: $.toJSON({'componentId':994}), dataType: "json", async: false }).responseText ); And I recieve the following value in the msg variable: ""{\"d\":\"{\\"ComponentId\\":994,\\"Latitude\\":32.219627009236405,\\"Longitude\\":-110.96843719482422,\\"LocationName\\":\\"Tucson\\",\\"StreetAddress\\":\\"7201 E 22nd Street \\",\\"City\\":\\"Tucson\\",\\"State\\":\\"AZ\\",\\"PostalCode\\":null}\"}"" I have no idea why this would format this way, seems to only do this in responseText. Does anyone have any ideas?

    I am running a typical php-engined ajax webpage. I use echo to return a html string from the php code. My question is, if I have some other code after the echo, will those code get executed? Or echo behaves similar to exit, which immediately return and stop running the php code? Thanks.

Say I have a web method named foo in TestService, how do I make an ajax call to it? I tried accessing the method via http://127.0.0.1:8080/IM/TestService/foo, but I'm getting an HTTP Status 404.

When I call http://localhost:8081/?id=something I get an answer. BUT I do not know how to send data reusing the same TCP from browser to server. so there is not the 3 way handshake and only 2 tcp packets. The problem is this is hard to follow: ajaxOne(function() { // do something ajaxTwo(function() { // do something ajaxThree() }); }); where the anonymous functions are callbacks that are called on server response. I'm using a third party API to make the AJAX calls, so I need a generic solution.
