  • Using Gdata Calendar API for PHP App to create a calender system with event ownership

    Hello, I'm working on a PHP app, and I'm trying to find the best way to set up a calendar system. First let me describe the intended function of the system: The application has multiple users who can login simultaneously. Each user should be able to add their own events and display them on their "profile." Also, on another page, the events should be able to be shown all together (from all users) and from each individual users exclusively. Since Google Calendar has a nice calendar-looking interface, I thought I would work with the GData APIs. Originally, I thought this would make things easier. But then it seems that if I want to represent event ownership, either each user would have to have a google account or somehow they all would each have to have a separate calendar. Thus, the application would have to create the calendar (if it does not exist) and be able to edit only their calendar. Two questions: Can I somehow use the GData APIs to accomplish my goal? (Mainly event ownership.) Should I just create my own calendar like application? Thanks!

  • TFS and code coverage for web application (MVC) assemblies not working

    I've got an MVC web application with associated controller tests that run under a TFS build as per normal. I can see the tests running and passing in the build log and they appear in the "Result details for Any CPU/Release" section of the build I also have a number of other assemblies with associated tests that are running in the same build. Tests are passing and the details are being shown in the results and logs just fine. I've enabled code coverage in the build script and the testrunconfig. The coverage is appearing for all assemblies EXCEPT the web application even though it looks like the tests have been run for it. Is there anything obvious that I have missed or some sort of work around that I need to do? I've searched around for a while and haven't found an answer. Has anyone got code coverage working for MVC web applications?

    Hello, We have a series of products with built in web servers each of which has a login page, a customer wants to create a web portal in which they log into once, from there they can simply click on any of the devices (external websites) and it will automatically login to that site and redirect them to the page after the login screen. The portal is using ASP.NET MVC, the external devices are Windows CE based units running embedded web servers. Can find a lot on scraping, but not much on redirection after the event.   • DropDownList Value not changing with UpdatePanel and ModalPopupExtender

When I click Ok on the popup, I can get the textbox values from the popup just fine, but the DropDownLists have the old/default value, not the new value I have selected for them. All the controls on the popup are set to enableviewstate = true, and autopostback = false (I just want to make the trip to the server when I click the ok button, not every time I change the value of the popups).     I need to setup some 301 permanent redirects in the web.config of an ASP.NET MVC application running under IIS. The easiest way is to add a tag similar to the one below to the web.config file: <location path="TheMenu.aspx"> <system.webServer> <httpRedirect enabled="true" destination="menus/" httpResponseStatus="Permanent" /> </system.webServer> </location> When I go to the site at http://domain.com/TheMenu.aspx it redirects me to http://domain.com/menusxd instead of http://domain.com/menus What would be causing this? As far as I can tell, the paging is working, but I can't get the data to be certain. The database is a Microsoft Access database.     I'm trying to get YouTube feeds with the python gdata library. Authentication features work ok, yt_service.ProgrammaticLogin() works, generating subauth token works, etc., but when I try to get some feeds (GetMostRecentVideoFeed, GetYouTubeVideoEntry, even GetFeed, and any other) I get: RequestError: {'status': 302, 'body': '<HTML><HEAD><meta http-equiv="content-type" content="text/html;charset=utf-8">\n<TITLE>302 Moved</TITLE></HEAD><BODY>\n<H1>302 Moved</H1>\nThe document has moved\n<A HREF="http://www.google.com">here</A>.\r\n</BODY></HTML>\r\n', 'reason': 'Redirect received, but redirects_remaining <= 0'} 302 to 'google.com'??? I've even tried to do something from the google online tutorials and I get the same error. What's going on?

However, the terrain view only shows when the user has an active Internet connection, the moment the user's Internet is off, the terrain on the map disappears and it appears flat.   • DataAnnotations in ASP.NET MVC 2 - Stop MVC from applying RequiredAttribute to Non-nullable DateTime

    Im trying to create a custom version of the RequiredAttribute to replace the built in one and I've got it working for properties that have strings values, but with properties that are DateTime or integer for example, the default RequiredAttribute seems to be applied automatically (IF the property is not nullable!) My problem is that i want to be able to specify a DateTime property as required using my custom required validator which gets the error message from a resources file (I don't want to have to tell the RequiredAttribute the type of the resource file and the key every time i apply it. That is why I'm making a custom one.) How can i prevent the framework from applying the required attribute to properties of type DateTime and int etc without changing them to nullable. Thanks

But it seems to me that samples in articles and videos are very easy. I think that it's easy to learn how to apply these patterns when you can look on some projects. So I'd like to look on real projects(Winforms/WPF), which use MVC, MVP or MVVM. Could you provide me links to sources of such projects? (If it is open source) It will be great if projects will have unit tests for Controller/Presenter/ViewModel, because it's one of my problem when I develop applications. Thanks in advance.

    I have a .NET MVC winform app. I've created an AppDelegate class that handles application startup and shutdown...for now (it might do more later). Winform apps have a Program.cs file that does some app initialization, starts the message pump and creates the first form. In my app, the first form is AppDelegate, which isn't really a form but is forced that way by Application.Run(). AppDelegate does any further app initialization and starts the first Controller, which then initializes any child controllers (these then create their views). I don't consider events occuring in Program.cs and AppDelegate as part of the MVC. Conceptually, what would these be called?

    I'm using MVC4 forms auth. My mobile web app runs in full screen UIwebview on iphone. I have a home screen icon for my mobile web app. The app needs to launch external links. Those launch in Safari, which works fine. However returning to the mobile web app by clicking again on the home screen icon, seems to have logged the user out. Ideally I want the user to remain logged into the web app after viewing the external links in Safari. Maybe the cookie got deleted? Can I persist the cookie?

  • How to access and work with XML from API in C#

    My goal is to pull XML data from the API and load it to a sql server database. The frist step I'm attempting here is to access the data and display it. Once I get this to work I'll loop through each row and insert the values into a sql server database. When I try to run the code below nothing happens and when I paste the url directly into the browser I get this error "2010-03-08 04:24:17 Wallet exhausted: retry after 2010-03-08 05:23:58. 2010-03-08 05:23:58" To me it seems that every iteration of the foreach loop makes a call to the site and I get blocked for an hour. Am I retrieving data from the API in an incorrect manner? Is there some way to load the data into memory or an array then loop through that? My problem is in the dynamic / premium part. I am trying to do the following: 1) in the dynamic controller, lookup the username. 2) if the username is in the user list (database), show the Index ActionResult of the Dynamic controller. 3) if the username is not found, look up the username in the premium list 4) if the username is fund in the premium list (database) then show the Index ActionResult of the Preium controller. 5) If all else fails jump to the 404 page (which will ask the user to sign up) Is this possible? Looking up the user twice is a bad idea for performance? How do I do this without redirecting?

    I have downloaded both samples for the Facebook Developer Kit from Codeplex and Facebook.NET followed both tutorials down to the word - But as soon as I browse to me app on Facebook I am getting the following error for BOTH versions? API Error Code: 100 API Error Description: Invalid parameter Error Message: Requires valid next URL. Anyone else had this problem? I'm struggling to find an answer to what the error actually means? Especially as the starts kits are supposed to work out the box?

    Hello, I'm developing a MVC .Net site and would like to implement a CMS system. So far I have looked at Umbraco, which looks good but the help is poor and the getting started video section is empty, and dotnetnuke, which again looks good but I get the impression its aimed at non developers, plus to has much more than I need and want. In my last job I created a basic custom CMS system that worked by simply adding values into the database, the application called the text from there. it worked fine but I don’t have the source code. what I'm after is a simple CMS system that really just controls text and images, I dont need all the fancy stuff thats in umbraco and dotnetnuke, all the design and CSS i can do myself. also as im working with MVC (which is awesome, and such a breath of fresh air compared to the web forms/telerik crap I have to put up with at work) it needs to be compatible. A simple CMS, can anyone provide any suggestion ? Truegilly
