• Reproduce PIPE functionality in IronPython

  Hi, I am hoping some genious out there can help me out with this... I am using sox to merge and resample a group of WAV files, and pipe the output directly to the input of NeroAACEnc for encoding to AAC format. I originally ran the process in a script, which included: sox.exe d:\audio\1.wav d:\audio\2.wav d:\audio\3.wav -c 1 -r 22050 -t wav - | neroAacEnc.exe -q 0.5 -if - -of test.m4a This worked as expected. The '-' in the comand line translates as 'Pipe/redirect input/output (stdin/stdout)' - So Sox pipes to stdout, and NeroAACEnc reads from stdin, the | joins them together. I then migrated the whole solution to Python, and the equivalent command became: from subprocess import call, Popen, PIPE runwav = Popen(['sox.exe', 'd:\audio\1.wav', 'd:\audio\2.wav', 'd:\audio\3.wav', '-c', '1', '-r', '22050', '-t', 'wav', '-'], shell=False, stdout=PIPE) runm4b = call(['neroAacEnc.exe', '-q', '0.5', '-if', '-', '-of', 'test.m4a'], shell=False, stdin=runwav.stdout) This also worked like a charm, exactly as expected. Slightly more convoluted, but hey :) Well now I have to move it to IronPython, and the Subprocess module isn't available (the partial implementation that is, doesn't have Popen/PIPE support - plus it seems silly to add a custom library when there is probably a native alternative). I should mention here, that I opted for IronPython over C#, because I am comfortable with Python now - however, there is a chance of moving it again later to C# native, and I am using IronPython to ease myself into it :) I have no C# or .net experience. So far I have the following equivalent, that sets up the 2 processes: from System.Diagnostics import Process wav = Process() wav.StartInfo.UseShellExecute = False wav.StartInfo.RedirectStandardOutput = True wav.StartInfo.FileName = 'sox.exe' wav.StartInfo.Arguments = 'd:\audio\1.wav d:\audio\2.wav d:\audio\3.wav -c 1 -r 22050 -t wav -' wav.Start() m4b = Process() m4b.StartInfo.UseShellExecute = False m4b.StartInfo.RedirectStandardInput = True m4b.StartInfo.FileName = 'neroAacEnc.exe' m4b.StartInfo.Arguments = '-q 0.5 -if - -of test.m4a' m4b.Start() I know that these 2 processes start (I can see Nero and Sox in the task manager) but what I can't figure out (for the life of me) is how to string the two output/input streams together, as with the previous two solutions. I have searched and searched, so I thought I'd ask! If anyone knows either: How to join the two streams with the same net result as the Python and Commandline versions; or A better way to acheive what I am trying to do. I would be extremely grateful! • Error using nservicebus with nettiers

  I'm using the nservicebus springbuilder(below) with compiles and runs fine. Many rows later... ... 185352 03-09-2012 Apple Ian Washers Tap Ltd 600 £80 I need to calculate a large set of targets from table containing values different types, target table is under my control and so far is like: TargetID Year Month Salesperson Target_Type Quantity 1 2012 7 Ian 1 6000 2 2012 8 James 2 2000 3 2012 9 Ian 2 6500 At present I am working out target types using a view of the first table which has a lot of extra columns: SELECT YEAR(Date) , MONTH(Date) , Salesperson , Quantity , CASE WHEN Manufacturer IN ('Tap Ltd','Hats Inc') AND Product_Type = 'Hats' THEN True ELSE False END AS IsType1 , CASE WHEN Manufacturer = 'Hats Inc' AND Product_Type IN ('Hats','Coats') THEN True ELSE False END AS IsType2 ... ... , CASE WHEN Manufacturer IN ('Tap Ltd','Hats Inc') AND Product_Type = 'Hats' THEN True ELSE False END AS IsType24 , CASE WHEN Manufacturer IN ('Tap Ltd','Hats Inc') AND Product_Type = 'Hats' THEN True ELSE False END AS IsType25 FROM SalesTable WHERE [some stuff here] This is horrible to read/debug and I hate it!! I've tried a few different ways of simplifying this but have been unable to get it to work. The closest I have come is to have a third table holding the definition of the types with the values for each field and the type number, this can be joined to the tables to give me the full values but I can't work out a way to cope with multiple values for each field. Finally the question: Is there a standard way this can be done or an easier/neater method other than one column for each type of target? I know this is a complex problem so if anything is unclear please let me know. Edit - What I need to get: At the very end of the process I need to have targets displayed with actual sales: Type Year Month Salesperson TargetQty ActualQty 2 2012 8 James 2000 2809 2 2012 9 Ian 6500 6251 Each row of the sales table could potentially satisfy 8 of the types. Some more points: I have 5 different columns that need to be defined against the targets (or set to NULL to include any value) I have between 30 and 40 different types that need to be defined, several of the columns could contain as many as 10 different values For point 2, if I am using a row for each permutation of values, 2 columns with 10 values each would give me 100 rows for each sales person for each month which is a lot but if this is the only way to define multiple values I will have to do this. For example: Company is base class, Department is inherited from Company, and Company has association Employees to the User (one-to-many) and also association to the Country (many-to-one).   I'm developing and Android app using the 1.6 sdk. I'm using a TimePicker and I don't want the soft keyboard to come up when you click on the digits in the TimePicker. I only want the TimePicker to be changed using the plus and minus buttons. I've tried using android:focusable="false" and android:focusableInTouchMode="false" hoping those would do it, but they didn't seem to do anything. Is there a way to do this?

• Booking form works but does not give feedback

  I have a form where people can book seats for a given event. It's actually a WordPress plugin. When someone sends his booking, email notifications are sent properly and the event booking status is updated accordingly. The issue is that the booking form does not give any feedback whatsoever. Once you hit "book now", the graphic keeps loading and no feedback is ever displayed like for instance "booking sent successfully" or "there are errors in your form", even though the booking is saved correctly with both sides notified by email. I guess it's a JavaScript issue,Firebug console is not showing any error...   Hey everyone. This question is about the number 169716931325235658326303. According to http://www.alpertron.com.ar/ECM.HTM it is prime. According to my miller-rabin implementation in python with 7 repetitions is is composite. With 50 repetitions it is still composite. With 5000 repetitions it is STILL composite. I thought, this might be a problem of my implementation. So I tried GNU MP bignum library, which has a miller-rabin primality test built-in. I tested with 1000000 repetitions. Still composite. • Displaying a message in a dialog box using AJAX, jQuery, and CakePHP

  I have a form, and when users submit this form, it should pass the data along to a function using AJAX. Then, the result of that is displayed to the user in a dialog box. I'm using CakePHP (1.3) and jQuery to try and accomplish this but I feel like I'm running into the ground. The form will eventually be used for uploading images with tags, but for now I just want to see a message pop up in the box..
