• No recent docs listed in Office 2007 on Windows XP Pro

  Hi, I have Office 2007 installed on a laptop running Windows XP Pro. When I go to open a file in Excel or Word, there is no list of recent documents. On the Options/Advanced page, the "show this number of recent documents" spinner displays 0 but is grayed out so I can't change it. The help page it directs me to describes how to disable the list, but not how to enable it. In Word, it says something about the list being disallowed by Group Policy, but I am not part of any workgroup and, as far as I know, the policies are all uninitialized, so it should be allowed by default. There are recent files listed in MRU keys in the registry. A similar question has been answered, but I believe that only applies to Windows Vista or 7 because the folder mentioned doesn't exist on my system. Instead, the folder "%APPDATA%\Microsoft\Office\Recent" contains shortcuts to recent docs for both Excel and Word. Any other ideas? Thanks.

• Editor that supports renaming tabs for untitled docs?

  I sometimes need to copy/paste text into two windows and compare the contents for a quick hack, ie. without having to save both documents to disk, and display the two docs side-by-side vertically so I can scroll them independantly (WinMerge doesn't seem to support independent scrolling.) Since the documents only live in RAM, text editors will display a non-descript tab/filename like "Untitled1" or "New file 1": http://img171.imageshack.us/img171/1153/sidebysideunleddocs.jpg Does someone know of a Windows editor that supports... renaming tabs with more descriptive names even with documents that haven't been saved to disk, side-by-side, vertical tiling, and independant scrolling?   I am using Mike Bluestein's article, http://mikebluestein.wordpress.com/2009/09/27/using-monotouch-with-the-net-library-for-the-google-data-api/, to build an application that communicates with the google APIs. When I try to add references to my project, the imported projects say "incompatible target framework: v2.0". I can change version to 1.0, 3.0, or 3.5 with the same results. If I add the .dll to the monotouch project I get a compilation error - monotouch failed with no output 134. Any suggestions?

An example of a Google Chart image over https would be this: https://www.google.com/chart?cht=lc&chs=200x125&chd=s:helloWorld The problem is that while you can load an image like this by directly clicking the link, you can't include it as an image in your page. It just won't load. Any idea on how to bypass this? Or solution generally using PHP?

  I am querying Google Base using the .NET library pretty much as described on this page. http://code.google.com/apis/base/docs/2.0/developers_guide_dotnet.html When I run the query a GBaseFeed is returned and it will usually have the TotalRecords property set to something like 35, but in the Entries collection it will often have no items or very few items. Other times the query returns all 35 items as expected in the Entries. Has anyone seen this behaviour or have any idea what could cause it?

  I'm developing application for google app engine (python), witch needs not only to send emails, but also know which ones bounce back. I created special account for my domain [email protected], added it as an app admin and sending messages from it. The problem is (and it was described here http://code.google.com/p/googleappengine/issues/detail?id=1800) - GAE sets the Return-Path to some internal email address, not allowing to receive bounced email messages. Anyone aware of any possible workaround for this? Thanks.

I downloaded the entire the malware and phish update from the google safe browsing using the API key and tried comparing the hash of the suspicious site (md5_file method in php) but it did not work.
