    I'm running OS X Leopard. I followed this site to install it. Trying to run any demo script, I now get "No module named opencv.cv", which is obviously stopping me from doing any programming.     Am surprised there's 3 different forms: RawConfigParser, SafeConfigParser and ConfigParser. I read the differences but why isn't everyone using SafeConfigParser, since it seems, well, safe? I can understand that in the case for Python 2 that the other two were kept for backward compatibility.

    Im using python to access a MySQL database and im getting a unknown column in field due to quotes not being around the variable. code below: cur = x.cnx.cursor() cur.execute('insert into tempPDBcode (PDBcode) values (%s);' % (s)) rows = cur.fetchall() How do i manually insert double or single quotes around the value of s? I've trying using str() and manually concatenating quotes around s but it still doesn't work. The sql statement works fine iv double and triple check my sql query.

    Hi there, I feel like this is quite delicate, I have various folders whith projects I would like to backup into a zip/tar file, but would like to avoid backing up files such as pyc files and temporary files. I also have a Postgres db I need to backup. Any tips for running this operation as a python script? Also, would there be anyway to stop the process from hogging resources in the process? Help would be very much appreciated.

    I have an unknown number of functions in my python script (well, it is known, but not constant) that start with site_... I was wondering if there's a way to go through all of these functions in some main function that calls for them. something like: foreach function_that_has_site_ as coolfunc if coolfunc(blabla,yada) == true: return coolfunc(blabla,yada) so it would go through them all until it gets something that's true. thanks!

    I'm writing a shell for a project of mine, which by design parses commands that looks like this: COMMAND_NAME ARG1="Long Value" ARG2=123 [email protected] My problem is that Python's command line parsing libraries (getopt and optparse) forces me to use '-' or '--' in front of the arguments. This behavior doesn't match my requirements. Any ideas how can this be solved? Any existing library for this?
