  • Rails 3 NameError (cannot remove Object::Version) error

    Can anyone point me at what might be causing this error? There is no ApplicationTrace, and it locks the server hard on my development machine. I think it has something to do with the way rails reloads your classes in development mode, and it appears to have something to do with a Version constant. I can't find a reference to this though.     Hello, I have come up with a rewriterule to to go to any page on my website without typing in the .php extension because it is automatically added to the url. The rule is: RewriteRule ^(\w+)/?$ /$1.php It takes anything you type in my index and adds .php to it, so you can put in http://sampardee.com/index and it pulls up index.php Now my question is how to detect when a user enters http://sampardee.com/index.php and change it to http://sampardee.com/index How could I do so with a rewriterule?

    I use FtpWebRequest to do some FTP stuff and I need to connect directly (no proxy). However WebRequest.DefaultWebProxy contains IE proxy settings (I reckon). WebRequest request = WebRequest.Create("ftp://someftpserver/"); // request.Proxy is null here so setting it to null does not have any effect WebResponse response = request.GetResponse(); // connects using WebRequest.DefaultWebProxy My code is a piece in a huge application and I don't want to change WebRequest.DefaultWebProxy because it is global static property and it can have adverse impact on the other parts of the application. Any idea how to do it?

  • remastering knoppix: which version and what method should i use

    I'd like to remaster knoppix (mainly add and configure some software). I downloaded newest version (KNOPPIX-ADRIANE_V6.2CD-2009-11-18-EN.iso) but later i read that it has some other window manager as default, not kde... and i want to have kde on my remaster. Is kde included on that iso but it's not default or it's not included at all? If it's not there what knoppix version should i get for my remaster? My other question... I've seen some remastering scripts (with menus, etc) on knoppix forums, do any of these works with version i have? Or with version i should have if i need kde?

    I have two lists List<User> list_of_users=new ArrayList<User>(); List<String> list_of_attributes=new ArrayList<String>(); When i try to use the following lines of code: model.addAttribute("takeattributes",list_of_users); model.addAttribute("takeattributes",list_of_attributes); I realise that it keeps only the second list (list_of_attributes) and the first deleted. I was wondering how to keep both of these two lists in the model.Is this possible to be happened?Is the AddAllAttributes method what i need?If yes can anyone explain me how the AddAllAttributes method is working.I look at the spring mvc documentation but i didn't really understand.

    I need to kill the close 'x' button at the top of a jQuery UI modal dialog box. I have a modal that opens with an OK button that redirects to the site. The site behind the modal is in an iframe. When the user agrees to the statement in the dialog box and clicks the 'OK' button, it redirects to the site that is outside the iframe. If the user clicks on the 'x', it goes to the iframe site, which I do not want to have happen. I need the modal to work as a one-way to the site it goes to. It basically forces the user to accept the user agreement. I would post code, but its an intranet site. Thanks everyone for your help! EDIT: This site is a government intranet portal, not a commercial site. So the goal is NOT to trap a user into the site, but rather to let the user know that the use of this site is restricted and to make sure you understand and accept the user agreement or you cannot use the site.

    In RAII, resources are not initialized until they are accessed. However, many access methods are declared constant. I need to call a mutable (non-const) function to initialize a data member. Example: Loading from a data base struct MyClass { int get_value(void) const; private: void load_from_database(void); // Loads the data member from database. int m_value; }; int MyClass :: get_value(void) const { static bool value_initialized(false); if (!value_initialized) { // The compiler complains about this call because // the method is non-const and called from a const // method. load_from_database(); } return m_value; } My primitive solution is to declare the data member as mutable. I would rather not do this, because it suggests that other methods can change the member. How would I cast the load_from_database() statement to get rid of the compiler errors?

    I have a SL4 application that uses EF4 & RIA Services. DB is SQL 2008. All is working well. Now I want to put the Database and web services on one domain (A.com) with the web service exposing the same methods available in my working project. (one listed at top of message) Then put a Silverlight application (same one as above) on domain(B.com) and call the web services on A.com. I thought I had a fair understanding of RIA Services. Enough to get the above application working. Now when I say "working" I do mean on my local dev machine. I have yet to deployed as SL4 & .NET 4 application to my hosting site. But I don't think I understand it well enough. I normally create a new business app, add EF then create the RIA DomainService. Add any [Includes] I need, modify my linq queries and run application. And it works. Now I need to break off my data layer and put it on another hosting site (A.com) And put my UI and business logic on another hosting site (B.com) I think I need to do the following : On the Database & web service site: domain(A.com) create application, create EF4, create RIA Services and deploy. At this time, are the methods exposed available as a "WEB SERVICE" to other applications calling by http:// a.com/serviceName.svc address? I think I need to do the following : On the application site : domain(B.com) create a business application (later will need authentication and navigation). How can I create an EF when I don't have access to the database? (I know I do have access but I want know what happens here when I do not have access to the database, but only data provided by a web service) If I can not create an EF how do I create my RIA Service? I hope any one who takes time to help me understands what I'm asking. Sorry so long.

    I have two classes (Parent, Child) that have a many-to-many relationship that only one end (Parent) knows about. My problem is that when I delete a "relation unaware" object (Child), the record in the many-to-many table is left. I want the relationship to be removed regardless of which end of it is deleted. How can I do that with Fluent NHibernate mappings, without adding a Parent property on Child? This was my attempt at a solution to these two problems. This is not working. Subsequent send calls block but never send any data.   • No method 'get' on backbone model save

    I'm using backbone for a reasonably complicated form. I have a number of nested models, and have been computing other variables in the parent model like so: // INSIDE PARENT MODEL computedValue: function () { var value = this.get('childModel').get('childModelProperty'); return value; } This seems to work fine for keeping my UI in sync, but as soon as I call .save() on the parent model, I get: Uncaught TypeError: Object #<Object> has no method 'get' It seems that the child model kind of temporarily stops responding. Am I doing something inherently wrong? Following Scenario: I have a = UIViewController A that contains a UIScrollView I have a second UIViewController "B" (amongst other things it contains a button) and add it to the ScrollView of A myView *mView = [[myView alloc] init]; [myScrollView addSubview:mView.view]; Is there a way that once the button is pressed that it(view) removes itself from the scrollview? I thought in the direction of setting the delegate of mView to "A" ?! But not sure how that should work in detail.... Any suggestions? Thanks!

  • How to remove htmlentities() values from the database?

    Long before I knew anything - not that I know much even now - I desgined a web app in php which inserted data in my mysql database after running the values through htmlentities(). I eventually came to my senses and removed this step and stuck it in the output rather than input and went on my merry way. However I've since had to revisit some of this old data and unfortunately I have an issue, when it's displayed on the screen I'm getting values displayed which are effectively htmlentitied twice. So, is there a mysql or phpmyadmin way of changing all the older, affected rows back into their relevant characters or will I have to write a script to read each row, decode and update all 17 million rows in 12 tables?
