  Does select_related work for GenericRelation relations, or is there a reasonable alternative? • Can I use IP addresses to limit API access

  I have a mini API that is only for an app I have built. The API service is on a separate domain to my app. I make jsonp calls to it and receive json in return. Therefore I only want my app to be able to access it. Can I just list a series of IP addresses for my app and allow them? Is there a better way to stop requests from anyone else to my API?

The simplest thing I could think of is doing an HTML form which calls a PHP script which appends the data in some file on the server.   Hi, I am using GDB to understand a C++ program. I put a break in the middle of the running which turns to be something like: break main.cpp:500 and I would like to see which functions have been called before. I tried "backtrace" but it shows only info about main, as previous calls to previous functions have already finished. My question is how can I get (with GDB or another method) the info about which functions have been called before this point, even if the call has been returned. Thanks

  I watched Nicholas Zakas' talk, Speed up your Javascript, with some interest. I liked how he benchmarked the various performance improvements created by various optimization techniques, e.g. reducing calls to deeply nested objects, changing loops to count down instead of up, etc. I would like to run these benchmarks myself though, to see exactly how our current browsers are faring. I guess it wouldn't be too difficult to cook up some timed loops, but I'd like to know if there are any existing implementations out there.

  I have a fullscreen path which consists of about 20 lines. Currently I am animating changes in this path using an NSTimer which frequently calls -setNeedsDisplay. Believe me: Performance sucks absolutely. I slightly remember that there was some better way to animate paths on the iPhone. Some kind of special CA layer. I don't remember anymore it's exact name.   All right all, So I've got a UITableView that is inited in applicationDidFinishLaunching like so: [self showForumList]; Said method does this: -(void)showForumList { ForumList *fl = [ForumList alloc]; [fl initWithNibName:@"ForumList" bundle:[NSBundle mainBundle]]; self.ForumList = fl; [window addSubview:[self.ForumList view]]; [fl release]; }where self.ForumList is previously defined in the interface as ForumList *ForumList;, etc. Now, in ForumList (itself an extension of UITableViewController obviously), I've got didSelectRowAtIndexPath: -- within it I have the following code: Forum *f = [Forum alloc]; NSArray *forums = [f getForumList]; NSDictionary *selectedForum = [forums objectAtIndex:[indexPath row]]; NSString *Url = [selectedForum objectForKey:@"url"]; NSString *Username = [selectedForum objectForKey:@"username"]; NSString *Password = [selectedForum objectForKey:@"password"]; NSLog(@"Identified press on forum %@ (%@/%@)", Url, Username, Password); [self.globalDelegate showForumListFromForumUsingUrl:Url username:Username password:Password]; [self.globalDelegate closeForumList]; NSLog(@"ForumListFromForum init"); Both of the NSLog calls in this function are executed and perform as they should. Now, here is where the issue starts. self.globalDelegate is defined as AppDelegate *globalDelegate; in the Interface specification in my header file. However, [self.globalDelegate showForumListFromForumUsingUrl:username:password] and and [self.globalDelegate closeForumList] are never actually called. They look like so: -(void)closeForumList { NSLog(@"Hiding forum list"); [[self.ForumList view] removeFromSuperview]; } -(void)showForumListFromForumUsingUrl:(NSString *)Url username:(NSString *)Username password:(NSString *)Password { NSLog(@"Showing forum list from forum"); ForumListFromForum *fl = [ForumListFromForum alloc]; [fl initWithNibName:@"ForumListFromForum" bundle:[NSBundle mainBundle]]; [fl initFromForumWithUrl:Url username:Username password:Password]; self.ForumListFromForum = fl; [window addSubview:[self.ForumListFromForum view]]; [fl release]; } The app does not respond to my press and neither of these NSLog calls are made. Any idea where I've gone wrong?

• Remove Chrome Loading Notification?

  I am working on a project that runs in Chrome in full-screen mode and displays data that can be edited and interacted with. It makes AJAX calls(using jQuery) frequently that cause a loading notification in the lower left-hand corner on the bottom of the screen to pop up. These notifications are distracting when you are viewing the display and I would like to remove/prevent Chrome from displaying these loading notifications at all. Is it possible to prevent these notification by any means, or perhaps even mask the javascript that causes these notifications?

  I have some pages that are sent via HTTPS. Internet Explorer sometimes complains about "This webpage contains content that will not be delivered using a secure HTTPS". I looked in the html source to confirm all content calls (href, src, etc...) are sent via https. My CSS files use relative paths. But I'm still getting these warnings. Is there an easy way to track down which items are not sent via HTTPS?

• CSS styles gone after Ajax call in IE 7

  I've had a problem with my styles not being applied after AJAX calls. My styles were not in the < HEAD section of the page, and they were only recognized by IE on initial Page_Load. I know that static variables used within functions are akin to globals, and that subsequent invocations of that function will have the static variable retain its value between calls.
