  • question about windows controls changed event

    I have several controls on my form and on changed event the logic entity properties are changed. Is it possible not to implement changed event for every control,but do it in one place and update my logic entity when user is making changes on the form?

  • C++ Inheritance Question

    I have a base class MessageHandler and 2 derived classes, MessageHandler_CB and MessageHandler_DQ. The derived classes redefine the handleMessage(...) method. MH_DQ processes a message and puts the result in a deque while MH_CB processes the message and then executes a callback function. The base class has a static callback function that I pass along with a this pointer to a library which calls the static callback when a new message is available for processing. My problem comes when I am in the static callback with a void * pointing to either a MH_DQ or a MH_CB. If I cast it to the base class the empty MessageHandler::handleMessage(...) method is called, rather than the version in the appropriate derived class. What is the best way to address this situation from a design perspective and/or what language features might help me to implement a solution to my problem? Thanks in advance!

I assume after this, TextChanged2 method should not be invoked as I have unregistered the event.     b'h i will be programmatically importing a text file into a table. i have saved the import steps. i will use this: DoCmd.TransferText(TransferType, SpecificationName, TableName, FileName, HasFieldNames, HTMLTableName, CodePage) to do the import. this is what SpecificationName means: Specification Name The specification name for the set of options that determines how a text file is imported, exported, or linked. For a fixed-width text file, you must either specify a specification name or use a schema.ini file, which should be stored in the same directory as the imported, linked, or exported text file. i do need a specific specification; however i do not know how to specify one. when i manually imported a table, i did save the specifications for my import, however i do not know how to call this in the TransferText. does anyone know how to specify SpecificationName ?

    New to c++, and am having a problem with delete and destructor (I am sure i am making a stupid mistake here, but haven't been able to figure it out as of yet). When i step through into the destructor, and attepmt to call delete on a pointer, the message shows up "Cannot access memory at address some address." Inside the function, it has a pointer to that object which is a location in memory. I am wondering where this pointer lives in memory? Is a new memory location created once inside the function to hold this reference?

On the bright side, this could earn someone some easy points here. I'm trying to do a match/replace with a pattern that contains special characters, and running into syntax errors in a Flex 3 app. I just want the following regex to compile... (while also replacing html tags with "") value.replace(/</?\w+((\s+\w+(\s*=\s*(?:".*?"|'.*?'|[^'">\s]+))?)+\s*|\s*)/?>/g, ""); On a side note, the pattern /<.*?/g wouldn't work in cases where there are html entities between tags, like so: <TEXTFORMAT LEADING="2"> <P ALIGN="LEFT"> <FONT FACE="Arial" SIZE="11" COLOR="#4F4A4A" LETTERSPACING="0" KERNING="0"><one</FONT> </P> </TEXTFORMAT><TEXTFORMAT LEADING="2"> <P ALIGN="LEFT"> <FONT FACE="Arial" SIZE="11" COLOR="#4F4A4A" LETTERSPACING="0" KERNING="0">two</FONT> </P> </TEXTFORMAT> The first regex would get both "<one" and "two", but the second would only get "hi" Thanks!
