  • Avoid richfaces to send back javascript libraries in the ajax responses

    I'm using JSF 1.2 with Richfaces, and for every ajax request, the server is sending back the response, whichi is good, but it also contains all the links to the javascript files. I want to improve the performance so I just want the <body> to be returned, because all the javascript files are already loaded in the browser when the user logs in (my app is not restful). How can i do that?   • Problem creating simple "windows script components" on Windows 7.

    Hi folks, I'm trying to get a Windows Script Component working on and x64 development machine. Works fine on x32 bit. But can't seem to get it running, I have the same problem with both JScript and VBScript. Here's the most simple wsc component possible. All that it does it pop up "Hello" in a message box. If you save the snippit below to a file called test_lib.wsc, you'll then be able to right click and register it. It's now available as a COM Component. <?xml version="1.0"?> <component> <?component error="true" debug="true"?> <registration description="Test Script Library" progid="TestScript.Lib" version="1.00" classid="{314042ea-1c42-4865-956f-08d56d1f00a8}" > </registration> <public> <method name="Hello"> </method> </public> <script language="VBScript"> <![CDATA[ Option Explicit Function Hello() MsgBox("Hello.") End Function ]]> </script> </component> Next create the following sample vb-script and save it to a file called test.vbs dim o set o = createobject("TestScript.Lib") o.hello() When I run the test.vbs with cscript or wscript I always get the following. "C:\test.vbs(3, 1) Microsoft VBScript runtime error: ActiveX component can't create object: 'TestScript.Lib'" This works perfectly fine on a 32 bit XP. Anyone got any ideas about what could be wrong?     I am trying to implement a simple authorization strategy for my Wicket application. I am implemented my own AuthorizationStrategy (extending IAuthorizationStrategy). http://old.nabble.com/Authorization-strategy-help-td18948597.html After reading the above link, I figured it makes more sense to use metadata-driven authorization than one using Annotations. So I have a simple RoleCheck class public class RoleCheck { private String privilege; public RoleCheck(String priv) { this.privilege = priv; } public void setPrivilege(String privilege) { this.privilege = privilege; } public String getPrivilege() { return privilege; } } I add it a component public static MetaDataKey priv = new MetaDataKey() {}; editLink.setMetaData(priv, new RoleCheck("Update")); And in my Authorization Strategy class, I try to get the metadata associated with the component public boolean isActionAuthorized(Component component, Action action) { if (action.equals(Component.RENDER)) { RoleCheck privCheck = (RoleCheck) component.getMetaData(EditControlToolBar.priv); if (privCheck != null) { ... } } However the getMetaData gives an error "Bound mismatch: The generic method getMetaData(MetaDataKey) of type Component is not applicable for the arguments (MetaDataKey). The inferred type RoleCheck is not a valid substitute for the bounded parameter " Any help would be appreciated. Thank you

I need to update a MSSQL table call component every 10 minutes based on information from another table call materials_progress I have nearly 60000 records in component and more than 10000 records in materials_progress I wrote an update query to do the job, but it takes longer than 4 minutes to complete execution!     Hi! I think there is a problem in php's OOP implementation. EDIT: Consider more illustrative example: abstract class Animal { public $name; // public function Communicate(Animal $partner) {} // Works public abstract function Communicate(Animal $partner); // Gives error } class Panda extends Animal { public function Communicate(Panda $partner) { echo "Hi {$partner->name} I'm a Panda"; } } class Human extends Animal { public function Communicate(Human $partner) { echo "Hi {$partner->name} I'm a Human"; } } $john = new Human(); $john->name = 'John'; $mary = new Human(); $mary->name = 'Mary'; $john->Communicate($mary); // should be ok $zuzi = new Panda(); $zuzi->name = 'Zuzi'; $zuzi->Communicate($john); // should give error The problem is that when Animal::Communicate is an abstract method, php tells that the following methods are illegal: "public function Communicate(Panda $partner)" "public function Communicate(Human $partner)" but when Animal::Communicate is non-abstract but has zero-implementation Php thinks that these methods are legal. So in my opinion it's not right because we are doing override in both cases, and these both cases are equal, so it seems like it's a bug... Older part of the post: Please consider the following code: Framework.php namespace A { class Component { ... } abstract class Decorator { public abstract function Decorate(\A\Component $component); } } Implementation.php namespace B { class MyComponent extends \A\Component { ... } } MyDecorator.php namespace A { class MyDecorator extends Decorator { public function Decorate(\B\MyComponent $component) { ... } } } The following code gives error in MyDecorator.php telling Fatal error: Declaration of MyDecorator::Decorate() must be compatible with that of A\Decorator::Decorate() in MyDecorator.php on line ... But when I change the Framework.php::Decorator class to the following implementation: abstract class Decorator { public function Decorate(\A\Component $component) {} } the problem disappears.

    I'm using heat.exe to generate fragments similar to this: <Fragment> <DirectoryRef Id="INSTALLDIR"> <Component Id="id1" Guid="*"> <File Id="fid1" KeyPath="yes" Source="SourceDir\Foo1.dll" /> </Component> <Component Id="id2" Guid="*"> <File Id="fid2" KeyPath="yes" Source="SourceDir\Foo2.dll" /> </Component> <Component Id="id3" Guid="*"> <File Id="fid3" KeyPath="yes" Source="SourceDir\Bar.exe" /> </Component> </DirectoryRef> </Fragment> <Fragment> <ComponentGroup Id="Components"> <ComponentRef Id="id1" /> <ComponentRef Id="id2" /> <ComponentRef Id="id3" /> </ComponentGroup> </Fragment> These fragments are stored in the auto-generated wxs file. I'm then adding them into my feature (in the main WiX file) like so: <ComponentGroupRef Id="Components"/> This works fine. However, I'd also like to add a shortcut to Bar.exe to my start menu. I ideally want to do this in my main wix file, with the Bar.exe component still residing in the auto-generated wxs file. How would I approach this problem without modifying the auto-generated code?

  • Why are Managed Beans not loaded in Tomcat?

    Hi, I created a JSF 2 web application with facelets. The libs for JSF where stored at tomcat/lib, to share it between several applications. I thought maybe it would be better to store the libs inside the WEB-INF/lib folder of the application, to get the application more independent from server configurations. Now when I start tomcat via eclipse, the managed beans are loaded and working. But when I start tomcat directly / standalone the managed beans are not loaded automatically. I used @ManagedBean @SessionScoped / @RequestScoped annotations to declare classes as managed beans. Why is this? What can I do to fix it? I don't use any faces-config.xml file yet.   • What is the most common way to use a middleware in node with express and connect

    Thinking about the correct way, how to make use of middlewares in a node.js web project using express and connect which is growing up at the moment. Of course there are middlewares right now wich has to pass or extend requests globally but in a lot of cases there are special jobs like prepare incoming data and in this case the middleware would only work for a set of http-methods and routes. I've a component based architecture and each component brings it's own middleware layer which can implement those for requests this component can handle. On app startup any required component is loaded and prepared. Is it a good idea to bind the middleware code execution to URLs to keep cpu load lower or is it better to use middlewares only for global purposes?     It looks like the DSOFramer.ocx component is not available for download anymore from MSDN as described here. Also the DSOFramer component is a 32 bit component. Given this, i have 2 questions: Is there any other alternative for hosting a word document in a Windows Form apart from using the DSOFramer.ocx component? If i move to Windows 64 bit operating system, and run the windows form as a native 64 bit process, then how do I host the word document in a 64 bit process?

I want to enlarge a component (component x) by removing it from its parent panel (component a) and adding it in one of component a's parent (component b). Before that, I call setVisible(false) on all components in b. After that I want to make this back by removing it from b and adding on a. After that all components are not longer resizable. Why that? I set the VB form to show message boxes when the event is raised. What I've noticed is that when the component raises the event synchronously, the message box blocks the component code and locks the form until the user closes the message. When it's raised asynchronously, it neither blocks the code, nor locks the form. What I want is a way to raise an event in such a way that it does not block the code, but is called on the same thread as the form (so that it locks the form until the user selects an option.)   • One registry key for many products not deleted on uninstall

    My company has many products, we want to create a registry key Software\$(var.Manufacturer)that will have all of our products if our customers have installed more than one (which is likely) I then want to have a secondary key for each of our products which get removed on uninstall but the main one does not. I have tried to achieve this like below but my main key gets deleted so all of my other products also get deleted from the registry. When I start Jetty, I get this error: failed SolrRequestFilter: org.apache.solr.common.SolrException: Could not find necessary SLF4j logging jars. If using Jetty, the SLF4j logging jars need to go in the jetty lib/ext directory. Oracle customers use independent software vendor (ISV) applications to run their businesses. They use them to generate revenue and to fulfil obligations to their own customers. Our strategy is very straight-forward. We want all of our ISV partners and OEMs to concentrate on the things that they do the best—building applications to meet the unique industry and functional requirements of their customer. We want to ensure that we deliver a best-in-class application platform so ISVs are free to concentrate their effort on their application functionality and user experience We invest over four billion dollars in research and development every year, and we want our ISVs to benefit from all of that investment in operating systems, virtualisation, databases, middleware, engineered systems, and other hardware. By doing this, we help them to reduce their costs, gain more consistency and agility for quicker implementations, and also rapidly differentiate themselves from other application vendors. They have to think hard about how they secure these environments, whether the concern is, for example, middleware, identity management, or securing personal data. If they don't use the technology that we build-in to our products to help them to fulfil these roles, they then have to build it themselves. This takes time, requires testing, and must be maintained. By taking advantage of our technology, partners will now know that they have a standard platform. They will know that they can confidently talk about implementation being the same every time they do it. Very large ISV applications could once take a year or two to be implemented at an on-premise environment. But it wasn't just the configuration of the application that took the time, it was actually the infrastructure - the different hardware configurations, operating systems and configurations of databases and middleware. Now we strongly believe that it's all about standardisation and repeatability. It's about making sure that our partners can do it once and are then able to roll it out many different times using standard componentry. What actions would you recommend for existing ISV partners that are looking to do more business with Oracle and its customer base, not only to maximise benefits, but also to maximise partner relationships? My team, around the world and in the EMEA region, is available and ready to talk to any of our ISVs and to explore the possibilities together. We run programmes like 'Excite' and 'Insight' to help us to understand how we can help ISVs with architecture and widen their environments. But we also want to work with, and look at, new opportunities - for example, the Machine-to-Machine (M2M) market or 'The Internet of Things'. Over the next few years, many millions, indeed billions of devices will be collecting massive amounts of data and communicating it back to the central systems where ISVs will be running their applications. The only way that our partners will be able to provide a single vendor 'end-to-end' solution is to use Oracle integrated systems at the back end and Java on the 'smart' devices collecting the data—a complete solution from device to data centre. So there are huge opportunities to work closely with our ISVs, using Oracle's complete M2M platform, to provide the infrastructure that enables them to extract maximum value from the data collected. The key opportunities that ISVs have today revolve around standardising their architectures so that they can confidently think: "I will I be able to do exactly the same thing whenever a customer is looking to deploy on-premise, hosted or in the cloud". The right architecture is critical to being competitive and to really start changing the game. We want to help our ISV partners to do just that; to establish standard architecture and to seize the opportunities it opens up for them. New market opportunities like M2M are enormous - just look at how many devices are all around you right now. We can help our partners to interface with these devices more effectively while thinking about their entire ecosystem, rather than just the piece that they have traditionally focused upon.   • Autounattend.xml not being recognized in VirtualBox

    I am working my way through the steps on this page to prepare an unattended installation of Windows 7 Enterprise x64 for purposes of a college assignment which simply requires the process to be carried out and documented. Both the "technician" and "reference" computers are virtual machines created in VirtualBox 4.3.12, as will be the destination computer. I seem to have successfully completed Step 1, building an Autounattend.xml answer file using Windows System Image Manager, in as far as the answer file validates successfully. The problem arises when I try to install Windows on the reference machine from the DVD image in conjunction with the Autounattend file on a USB drive. I have tried a couple of different USB devices, and the devices themselves seem to be recognized, but the answer file does not, as instead of taking the configuration settings from the file the user interface appears as in a manual installation. Has anyone come across this problem or a solution?
