Hi there,
I have a acer 1810T and going to buy a Dell u2711 with a resolution of 2.560 x 1.440.
The question is, can I connect the panel over HDMI with the acer and use the 2.560 x 1.440 res?
Thanks for your help!
I've just got a new domain with GoDaddy. I want to forward email to various addresses to different Gmail addresses.
I can't find this option in the GoDaddy control panel. The clostest thing I can see is a link to buy an email forwarding package. Do they actually charge extra to set up email forwarding!?
Are there any ways to forward it for free?
I can't seem to find any way to connect to a remote IIS instance with my local INETMGR on my Windows 7 machine. It shows my settings for my local IIS and everything I've tried from clicking various places on the connections panel, changing the address in the address bar and checking the various menubar menus none seem to offer connect to another machine.
This question seems a little bit related, but not fully (I'm not using two monitors nor full-screen mode). I'm running VMWare Player 2.5.4 on Windows XP in normal window mode. Unfortunately, if I switch to other applications, VMWare remains the front-most window. I can avoid it by clicking the other application's title bar or if it pops up a dialog, but how can I avoid VMWare's "always-on-top"-mode completely?
Hi guys,
I've installed SQL Server 2008 R2, but connecting to my local machine in SQL Management Studio fails:
Putting "localhost" or "." as the server name results in the same error.
I've narrowed down the problem: there are no SQL services installed:
Bringing up the Services control panel applet shows me there are no MS SQL services installed.
Things I've tried:
Repair install of SQL
Complete uninstall and reinstall of all MS SQL products.
How can I get SQL Server running?
Hi there,
I have a laptop, which was most of the time on wired power. Now it seems to not work at all on battery and in Control Panel-Power Option battery isn't recognized at all(is 0%).
Do you have any idea about what can I do?
ps: my laptop is Acer Aspire 1640z and I'm using Windows XP SP3
Windows 7 has the full and basic aero themes that can be changed inside personalization. Windows used to automatically disable Windows Aero (transparency) when I unplug my laptop from the mains.
I reset the theme and now it doesn't do this anymore. I can't seem to find how to enable this again. I've checked the advanced power options and control panel but turning back on this feature is eluding me. Any suggestions would be much appreciated.
I have a network webcam with motion detector. The motion detector can be configuured to send e-mail, upload ftp, etc. But i wanted to pop up (get in front) the video stream window when motion get detected. The built-in software does not make it.
Do you know of a software to do that ?

Hello,
I tried to login into a cpanel account that hasn't been accessed for a few months and discovered that my login details no longer worked. When I reset the password and gained access into my domains control panel, my email password also didn't work. Upon that first attempt I was given a message reading "Brute force attempt..."
So, does cpanel keep a list of logins? or login attempts?
Thanks for any help!
I don't remember this happening before, but now whenever I play any video in iTunes (podcast video, movie, TV show, iTunes extras stuff but the menus work) it just shows a black screen with the sound playing. If I stop it, select "Computer" in the little output control on the iTunes video control panel that pops up, then play again, it works fine.
What the heck?
Tried rebooting, updating, with and without external monitor.

A friend's laptop came with "Windows Vista Home Premium (SP1)" installed in English.
But she's from a country with a right-to-left language, and she wants to be able to type in her own language from right-to-left.
Going to the control panel and adding a keyboard on her language did half of the trick. She can type in her language but on a left-to-right way.
Is it possible to enable the cursor to go on the other direction?
I like the way Google Chrome puts the tabs above the address bar, but I don't like the way the minimize, restore, close buttons are a different shape to every other program's. It means that if I sit the mouse in the top corner and minimize everything, I find that I've restored Chrome, not minimized it.
Is there any way to get these buttons to a normal shape and size?
That's Firefox in front, looking normal, like every other program, and Chrome above and behind, with the buttons at an off-standard position and size.
I'd like to create a keyboard shortcut to quickly and easily change the DPI scale on my machine.
In Windows 8.1, the desktop display DPI scale can be set via the control panel (pictured below), taking effect immediately. Alternatively, the scale can be set manually in the registry, but doing so requires that the user sign in and out or restart the machine in order to take effect (and only works to imitate the "one scaling level for all my displays" option).
How can I set the DPI scale via the command line, or otherwise programmatically?
I have made a mess of my Dreamhost slice and want to know if there's a way to clean install/fresh install/wipe everything and start over?
Is there a shell script to do this or would I have to do it through the Dreamhost admin panel or even contact Dreamhost to get them to do it for me?
Any advice is appreciated, I'm not sure the best way to proceed. Thanks!
The Internet Sharing feature in Mac OS X (available at the "sharing" System Preferences panel) seems to be somewhat limited, it does not have the ability to use WPA when sharing through AirPort for instance.
Is there a simple software alternative that will use a MacBook Pro built in AirPort card to create a local wi-fi access point?
I inadvertently set the Registry Editor to be the default editor for *.txt files. Now when I go to change the default, "Always use this program to open these files" is grayed out. This is the case whether I right click on the file and choose "Open with...", or start with the "Set Default Programs" control panel.
Why? How can I fix this?
I am running Plesk 9.5 on Ubuntu 8.04 LTS and have about 15 websites infected with some malicious code appended to the end of java files. I have installed Clamav and it has managed to pickup the infected files which have a pattern of starting with either /*km0ae9gr6m*/ or /*gootkitstart*/ and ending with /*qhk6sa6g1c*/ or /*gootkitend*/
My Plesk panel is up to date and security patches were installed. How can I isolate the security vulnerability on the server?
I setup my Windows 7 to automatically log into my account at home. I have a password set so that I can access it remotely. It seems like this was a feature in control panel somewhere, but now I can't find it to turn if off. I know I used to use Tweak UI in older versions of windows to do this, and before that I could edit the registry . . . but it appears they changed it for Windows 7
I am one of those people who hate to have even one unnecessary program installed. I noticed when I downloaded and installed itunes two other components were installed and shows up in my control panel Uninstall programs screen: "Bonjour" and "Apple Mobile Device Support".
Are these two necessary for itunes to work? I never buy songs via itunes, just use the program to transfer smp3s to my ipod.
Hi all,
I've got an HP DC7100 and an HP m8530f. The DC7100 is a small form factor desktop while the m8530f has a mATX board with lots of extra features like front I/O and HP Personal Media Drive bay. Both of these have very little space (especially the DC7100) and don't have any other places to mount fans.
What other possible ways of cooling are there, if there isn't much space left inside the case?
Thanks in advance.
Is there a way to use rdesktop or another Linux client to connect to a server that requires Network Level Authentication?
From Windows Server 2008 R2 -- Control Panel -- System And Security -- System -- Allow Remote Access there is an option that says "Allow connections only from computers running Remote Desktop with Network Level Authentication". So with this enabled I can con not connect from Linux. I can connect from XP but you need SP3 and I had to edit a couple of things in the registry for it to work.
I'm working on a talk that will involve typing code and running it in front of an audience. So I don't screw it up, I'd like to pre-record typing the more complicated bits of the source code and play it back. Most programs I've found that do similar things (like AutoHotKey) dump the text instantaneously as a giant block. Is there any program that will do this and allow me to adjust the play-back speed?
