  • How do I remedy "Error: Cannot find module 'child-process-close'"?

    I was going about business as usual and about to checkout generator-angular-fullstack. I got no red errors but a message a the end saying Error: Cannot find module 'child-process-close'. I tried many a-thing–uninstalling node, reinstalling, manually getting rid of files and directories in local and/or global paths and tried to make sure Homebrew was the one who installed everything and somehow I've made things worse. (Also, I initially saw errors regarding karma. Everything looked right but it doesn't seem I did any good by throwing commands at it.) I am at a loss. All the stackoverflow questions have been clicked and I'm afraid I've probably tried too many of the suggestions. I cannot install any Yeoman generator. I cannot install anything with npm. When inside the project directory when I run npm install it throws the error. I really have no clue. Is there a way I can basically start over all together? A simple uninstall and install isn't cutting it. Something in the system needs to change but I don't know what. Any ideas?

    We have written an authentication provider for a SharePoint web application which can requests multiple LDAP directories. One of the LDAP server have to be requested via SSL. So we imported the CA certificate which was used to sign the LDAP server's certificate into the certificate store of the SharePoint server. The following code snippet shows how we authenticate an user. The passed credentials (account, password) belong to the user we want to authenticate. var entry = new DirectoryEntry("LDAP://<ldap-server-address>", "cn=account,ou=sub,o=xyz,c=de", "password", AuthenticationTypes.SecureSocketsLayer); var searcher = new DirectorySearcher(entry); var found = searcher.FindOne(); When the code is processed, the call to searcher.FindOne() throws following exception. System.Runtime.InteropServices.COMException (0x80072035): The server is unwilling to process the request What circumstance can lead to this error? UPDATE: I found some information about the error message. There the problem seems to be the certificate store, as the user has only stored the certificate in the in the user's store and not in the computer's store. Unfortunately we've already stored it there. So could this be still a certificate issue? UPDATE/SOLUTION: Actually the problem is solved. It seems as if the root CA certificate was imported correctly but the error messages the LDAP server responded was caused by an expired user account our customer gave us for testing.

  • How does real world login process happen in web application in Java?

    Hello, I am very much confused regarding login process that happen in Java web application. I read many tutorials regarding jdbcRealm and JAAS. But, one thing that i don't understand is that why should i use them ? Can't i simply check directly against my database of users? and once they successfully login to the site, i store some variable in session as a flag. And probably check that session variable on all restricted pages (I mean keep a filter for restricted resources url pattern).If the flag doesn't exist simply redirect the user to login page. Is this approach correct?Does this approch sound correct? If yes, then why did all this JAAS and jdbcRealm came into existence? Secondly, I am trying to completely implement SAS(Software as service) in my web application, meaning everything is done through web services.If i use webservices, is it possible to use jdbcRealm? If not, then is it possible to use JAAS? If yes, then please show me some example which uses mySql as a database and then authenticates and authorizes. I even heard about Spring Security. But, i am confused about that too in the sense that how do i use webservice with Spring Security. Please help me. I am really very confused. I read sun's tutorials but they only keep talking about theories. For programmers to understand a simple concept, they show a 100 page theory first before they finally come to one example.

  • How to customize the process employed by WCF when serializing contract method arguments?

    Dear ladies and sirs. I would like to formulate a contrived scenario, which nevertheless has firm actual basis. Imagine a collection type COuter, which is a wrapper around an instance of another collection type CInner. Both implement IList (never mind the T). Furthermore, a COuter instance is buried inside some object graph, the root of which (let us refer to it as R) is returned from a WCF service method. My question is how can I customize the WCF serialization process, so that when R is returned, the request to serialize the COuter instance will be routed through my code, which will extract CInner and pass it to the serializer instead. Thus the receiving end still gets R, only no COuter instance is found in the object graph. I hoped that http://stackoverflow.com/questions/2220516/how-does-wcf-serialize-the-method-call will contain the answer, unfortunately the article mentioned there (http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/magazine/cc163569.aspx) only barely mentions that advanced serialization scenarios are possible using IDataContractSurrogate interface, but no details are given. I am, on the other hand, would really like to see a working example. Thank you very much in advance.

  • How should a process running outside Internet Explorer talk to JavaScript running inside it?

    This may well be impossible; either way I'm sure people here will know. I'm trying to reduce three "OK" prompts to two. As part of my application, users will download and run an executable I supply; call it privileged.exe. privileged.exe will have a coda that asks for the highest privileges available. That's two OK prompts, one to run privileged.exe and one for UAC. I'd like privileged.exe to then install an ActiveX control, browser plugin or some such. The purpose of this ActiveX control is to allow the JavaScript running inside the browser to talk to the running privileged.exe process, to allow the user to perform certain operations that require high privileges by making choices in the browser. And I'd ideally like this to happen without the user having to restart their browser or explicitly OK the installation of the ActiveX control. Is that possible? Can you install an ActiveX control from outside the browser in such a way that it becomes immediately available to pages running inside the browser? Or should I give up, and allow the user to be explicitly prompted to install the ActiveX control?

  • Mercurial CLI is slow in C#?

    I'm writing a utility in C# that will make managing multiple Mercurial repositories easier for the way my team is using it. However, it seems that there is always about a 300 to 400 millisecond delay before I get anything back from hg.exe. I'm using the code below to run hg.exe and hgtk.exe (TortoiseHg's GUI). The code currently includes a Stopwatch and some variables for timing purposes. The delay is roughly the same on multiple runs within the same session.   • MVC 3, View Model for user registration process. Password validation not working properly

    I am trying to create a user registration page using MVC 3, so that I can better understand the process of how it works, what's going on behind the scenes etc. I am running into some issues when trying to use [Compare] to check to see that the user entered the same password twice. I tried adding the ComparePassword field to my user model first, and found that would not work the way I wanted as I did not have the field in the database, so the obvious answer was to create a View Model using the same information including the ComparePassword field. So I now have created a User model and a RegistrationViewModel, however it appears that the [Compare] on the password is not returning anything, for instance no matter what I put in the two boxes, when I click create it gives no error, which seems to me to mean it was successfully validated. I am not sure what I am doing or not doing to make this work properly. I have tried updating the jQuery.Validate to the newest version as there were some bugs reported in older version, this has not helped my efforts.     I have an app that has a console menu with 2/3 selections. One process involves uploading a file and performing a lengthy search process on its contents, whilst another process involves SQL queries and is an interactive process with the user. I wish to use threads to allow one process to run and the menu to offer the option for the second process to run. However you cannot run the first process twice. I have created threads and corrected some compilation errors but the threading options are not working correctly. Any help appreciated. main...   • Executing sc.exe from .NET Process unable to start and stop service.

    I'm trying to restart the service from a remote machine. Here is my code. The problem is that I need to enter startinfo.filename = "sc.exe" since I'm putting "start /wait sc" this is causing an error. Here is my code, any thoughts.   • GTK+: How do I process RadioMenuItem choice without marking it chosen? And vise versa

    In my program, I've got a menu with a group of RadioMenuItem entries. Choosing one of them should trigger a function which can either succeed or fail. If it fails, this RadioMenuItem shouldn't be marked chosen (the previous one should persist). Besides, sometimes I want to set marked item without running the choice processing function.     I start cmd.exe process and redirect stdin to pass script to it and redirect stdout and stderr to read cmd's output. Here is the code of my DataReceivedEventHandler: (o, a) => { if(!String.IsNullOrEmpty(a.Data)) { bw.Write(a.Data.ToUTF8()); bw.Write((byte)'\n'); } } In the code bw is instance of BinaryWriter, ToUTF8 is string extension method, that converts a string to UTF8 encoded byte array. When I use this code in a separate process it works well, however when I use this code as a shared library inside some other process a.Data doesn't contain valid localized characters (like russian characters for example). So how should I convert characters? How to get cmd's OEM encoding? Why does the code works well in a separate process and doesn't work as a shared library inside some other process?

  • Can I get a bitmap of an arbitrary window in another application process?

    I am trying to automate a third-party Win32 application where I want to capture the graphics content of a particular window at defined time intervals. I am in the early phases of this, and I'm currently trying to use the Microsoft UI Automation API via C# to do most of the interaction between my client app and the external app. I can now get the external app to do what I want it to do, but now I want to capture the graphics from a specific window that seems to be some third-party owner-drawn control. How can I do this? Seems UAC is getting in my way. Is there something I can do with the SECURITY_ATTRIBUTES or CreateProcess, or is there something I can do with CreateProcessAsUser or impersonation to ensure that a network socket on a service is available to logged-in users on the system (note, this app is for mass deployment, I don't have access to user credentials, and require the user elevate their privileges to install a service on Vista/Win7)

    Is it possible for a child process to inherit a handle from its parent process if one process is 32-bit and the other is 64-bit? HANDLE is a 64 bit type on Win64 and a 32 bit type on Win32, which suggests that even it were supposed to be possible in all cases, there would be some cases where it would fail: a 64-bit parent process, a 32-bit child process, and a handle that can't be represented in 32 bits. Or is naming the object the only way for a 32-bit process and a 64-bit process to get a handle for the same object?

  • Sad logic on types

    Code base is littered with code like this: BaseRecord record = // some BaseRecord switch(record.source()) { case FOO: return process((FooRecord)record); case BAR: return process((BarRecord)record); case QUUX: return process((QuuxRecord)record); . . // ~25 more cases . } and then private SomeClass process(BarRecord record) { } private SomeClass process(FooRecord record) { } private SomeClass process(QuuxRecord record) { } It makes me terribly sad. Then, every time a new class is derived from BaseRecord, we have to chase all over our code base updating these case statements and adding new process methods. This kind of logic is repeated everywhere, I think too many to add a method for each and override in the classes. How can I improve this?
