  I have a repeater using a LinqDataSource as a data source. When a query string is entered, I'd like to filter the results, but ONLY when a query string is entered. If there is no query string, the results should not be filtered, all results should be returned. I'm trying to add a WhereParameter to my LinqDataSource in the Selecting event of the LinqDataSource, but it's not working. • How to use Zend Framework Form Hash (token) with AJAX

  I have included Zend_Form_Element_Hash into a form multiplecheckbox form. I have jQuery set to fire off an AJAX request when a checkbox is clicked, I pass the token with this AJAX request. The first AJAX request works great, but the subsequent ones fail. I suspect it may be once the token has been validated it is then removed from the session (hop = 1). What would be your plan of attack for securing a form with Zend Framework Hash yet using AJAX to complete some of these requests?

• AJAX call in for loop won't return values to correct array positions

  I need to get a range of pages using AJAX and put them into an array, where their given place in the array is equal to the i of a for loop (it's a caching-like function for blog pages, and the range of the for loop is entirely variable). I'm doing something akin to the following: var bongo = new Array(); for (i = 0; i < 10; i++) { jQuery.ajax({ type: "GET", url: http://localhost, data: queryString, success: function(request) { bongo[i] = request } }) } The problem is, that unless I add async: false to the .ajax options (which would make it... SJAX?), which causes the requests to basically pause the browser, going against what I'm trying to do, the i in the success callback will always end up being 11, whereas I of course want it to pour the returned data into each slot of the array from 0 to 10. I've tried replacing the line with this: bongo[i] = jQuery.ajax({ type: "GET", url: http://localhost, data: queryString }).responseText But that made no difference.

I assume since it's returning dictionaries, I need a key to get at the values - but where's the key defined? Is that the "id requestedValue = nil" line? If so, how does "requestedValue" become the key? Xcode gives me a compiler warning about an unused variable at the "requestedValue" declaration. I feel like I'm missing something here.   I have a question about the returnUrl querystring parameter that is appended by ASP.Net when attempted to hit a page that requires authentication. In looking at Microsoft NerdDinner Sample's LogOn action (along with every other 'sample authentication code' I see on the 'net), it just has the ReturnUrl parameter declared in the action's signature and uses it directly in a Redirect() call. However, back in the WebForms days and using Membership Controls, we use to use the FormsAuthentication.GetReturnUrl() call. Besides returning the 'default url' if no url was specified in the querystring, it also does a few security checks (Cross App Redirect and 'IsDangerousUrl()'). Are those no longer a concern or are all the sample 'log on' actions I'm seeing all over the 'net just ignoring those issues?

• ASP.NET: Large number of Session_Start with same session id

  I'm running a ASP.NET website on my development box (.NET 2.0 on Vista/IIS7). The Session_Start method in global.asax.cs logs every call to a file (log4net). The Session_End method also logs every call. I'm using InProc session state, and set the session timeout to 5 mins (to avoid waiting for 20 mins). I hit the website, wait for 5 minutes unit I see the Session_End logging. Then I F5 the website. The browsers still has the session cookie and sends it to the server. Session_Start is called and a new session is created using the same session id (btw: I need this to be the same session id, because it is used to store data in database). Result: Every time I hit F5 on a previously ended session, the Session_Start method is called. When I open a different browser, the Session_Start method is called just once. Then after 5 minutes the Session_End each F5 causes the Session_Start method to execute. Can anyone explain why this is happening? Update: After the Session timeout, all subsequent requests have a session start & session end. • Twitter integration with C#.NET applications - NULL Pointer Exception

  Trying to integrate Twitter with ASP.NET application (Code in C#). This is the code I have written for the first sign in to Twitter. When I debug the application, I do get the token response and the response redirect happens appropriately. However, if I host it on IIS and access it, I get a Null Pointer Exception. • Odd behavior in Django Form (readonly field/widget)

  I'm having a problem with a test app I'm writing to verify some Django functionality. The test app is a small "grade book" application that is currently using Alex Gaynor's readonly field functionality http://lazypython.blogspot.com/2008/12/building-read-only-field-in-django.html There are 2 problems which may be related. First, when I flop the comment on these 2 lines below: # myform = GradeForm(data=request.POST, instance=mygrade) myform = GradeROForm(data=request.POST, instance=mygrade) it works like I expect, except of course that the student field is changeable. When the comments are the shown way, the "studentId" field is displayed as a number (not the name, problem 1) and when I hit submit I get an error saying that studentId needs to be a Student instance. I'm at a loss as to how to fix this. I'm not wedded to Alex Gaynor's code. ANY code will work. • Windows Workflow Foundation 4 (WF4) Delay

  I'm working with the the Release Candidate of Visual Studio 2010 using Wf4 to write a new workflow for approving resource requests. In my workflow, I would like for a request to expire after a few days if no approval has been made for the request. We did this in WF 3.5 (Visual Studio 2008) by adding a Delay timer into an EventDrivenActivity parallel to the EventDrivenActivity that was awaiting an approver to come and approve the request. If the Delay expired before an approval was made, the EventDrivenActivity would terminate the request. Does anyone know if there is a similar mechanism for doing this in WF4?

• Implementing a pager for asp.net's DataList/Repeater

  I have a DataList showing the results, and a Repeater that is supposed to be the pager. I decided to use the page number by redirecting with a QueryString parameter, so it will also be bookmarkable ... My problem is mainly in the UI actually. If I put DIV's with their onclick calling a JS function that does window.location = url + pagenumber , then somehow I have to deal with QueryString operations via JS which is a bit messy. If I use LinkButton objects within the ItemTemplate, then the Redirecting happens only when the linkbutton is clicked while whole div has cursor: pointer , you what I mean. What would be the best approach to this? Thanks in advance. Note: I really want to spend the time and effort implementing my own server-side paging. I think its more fun than reading 3rd party manuals.

• Why does my Sax Parser produce no results after using InputStream Read?

  Hello, I have this piece of code which I'm hoping will be able to tell me how much data I have downloaded (and soon put it in a progress bar), and then parse the results through my Sax Parser. If I comment out basically everything above the //xr.parse(new InputSource(request.getInputStream())); line and swap the xr.parse's over, it works fine. But at the moment, my Sax parser tells me I have nothing. Is it something to do with is.read (buffer) section? I'm trying to upload a file called 'Testaråäö.txt' via the Django admin app. I'm running Django 1.3.1 with Gunicorn 0.13.4 and Nginx 0.7.6.7 on a Debian 6 server. Database is PostgreSQL 8.4.9. Other Unicode data is saved to the database with no problem, so I guess the problem must be with the filesystem somehow. I've set http { charset utf-8; } in my nginx.conf. LC_ALL and LANG is set to 'sv_SE.UTF-8'. Running 'locale' verifies this. I even tried setting LC_ALL and LANG in my nginx init script just to make sure locale is set properly. • jquery-Ajax call on tornado handlers waits for pervious ajax call to return

  Hey All. I recently started testing TornadoWeb for a home-project, which uses jquery getJSON function to call my tornado handlers. And found something strange, which i seek an explanation for. I fire an ajax request for Handler1 on tornado, and in some cases request for Handler2 is initiated before Handler1 returns. It appears from development-server logs, and firebug console-debugging, that Handler2 request waits for Handler1 request to finish, and then return. So basically, XHR call is waiting for earlier XHRs. They are supposed to be asynchronous/non-blocking right?? Or am i missing something. I can confirm that the server is operational and doesn't appear to be misbehaving - the failures are so infrequent that I haven't seen it do one while making a request myself.
