    I am working on a Windows Form that connects to a ASP.NET membership database and I am trying to use the AJAX Login Service. No matter what I do I keep on getting 404 errors on the Authentication_JSON_AppService.axd call.   • Cannot delete a SharePoint web application

    What I have? I have normal web application and it has 3 site collections with name, "PDirectory". Other than this I have only Central administration web application in the farm. What I want? I want to delete that web application, "PDirectory". What problem am I facing? I am not able to delete the web application. I get below error when I try to delete it but, the site collections got deleted! Error: An object in the SharePoint administrative framework, "SPWebApplication Name=XXX Parent=SPWebService", could not be deleted because other objects depend on it. Update all of these dependants to point to null or different objects and retry this operation.   • Can't delete C:\Config.Msi\75ce84f.rbf

    I can't delete C:\Config.Msi\75ce84f.rbf It's not causing any problems but it's a mystery I'd like to solve, preferably before the next reboot because it's scheduled for deletion then (see pendmoves). it's not readonly, system or hidden it's not in use by another process (according to Process Explorer) the NT security permissions aren't the problem either - I am the owner and have Full Control ; as a double-check, the Effective Permissions tab shows that I have permission to delete. Yet trying to delete the file gives "Access is Denied" from both Explorer and cmd. I can however rename it or move it to another folder on the same drive. I can also read it and Virustotal says it's clean which is what I would expect (it's just a Windows Installer temp file - a copy of some DLL I think). The relevant line from Process Monitor is: 6:52:14.3726983 PM 112 Explorer.EXE SetDispositionInformationFile C:\Config.Msi\75ce84f.rbf CANNOT DELETE Delete: True Write 1232 Background: I'm using XP SP2. I recently repaired my Adobe Reader installation to make it the default browser plugin again instead of Foxit. (there seems to be no UI to do it otherwise?) So the installer did its thing and then asked to reboot. As is my habit when rebooting is inconvenient I declined the offer and ran pendmoves to find out what files the installer had scheduled to move / delete. It wanted to delete two files with .rbf extension (rollback files) located in C:\Config.msi\. (this applies to both even though I've been speaking about one). So I tried to delete them manually and couldn't. Does anyone have any ideas what could be preventing deletion? (and I don't think it's malware even though I'm not running AV at the moment)

  • Nagios Apache Config with PHP-FPM downloading cgi files

    I'm trying to setup Nagios 3 under Apache 2.4 with PHP-FPM. I've run into a couple problems I could use help with. The PHP side of things seems to be working, I can see the home page and the sidebar. But all of the CGI files are downloading instead of executing, and when I try to click on "Read What's New In Nagios Core 3", I get an error /nagios3/docs/whatsnew.html was not found on this server.   • can't access SATA card config screen on boot, nor access the disks

    We've just upgraded our file server using an ASUS P6T WS Pro board, running FreeBSD-RELEASE 8.2 and using zfs to manage 12 WD20EARS disks. Since our 3ware card has been giving us trouble we started using the six on-board SATA connectors and got a SuperMicro USAS2-L8i to provide eight more ports. Mechanically, the card is an awkward fit but electrically it all seems ok. Upon boot, the LSI controller shows up and states that pressing ctrl-c will bring up the LSI Config Utility. When doing that, the message changes to state that the utility will be started after initialization, however that never happens. There does seem to be an error message that's only displayed too briefly to read and seems to be about PCI and "not enough space". (That message is pushed off by a hardware summary and I've found no way to scroll back at this point.) The disks do not show up in any recognizable ways after booting, either. I found a hint in another discussion to check the address mapping on either the card or the motherboard BIOS, but have found no way to do that. So what I tried on a hunch is to disable everything that's on-board, including network adapters, Firewire controller and SATA. In fact, after doing that, I can successfully launch the LSI Config Utility. As far as I can tell, all looks well in there, and when booting in that configuration it also displays a list of the disks connected to it, which looks just fine as well. Only problem now is that I can't boot that way, because I need the on-board SATA controller and network adapters. As soon as I re-enable any of them I'm back to square one. That discussion I mentioned about mapping addresses said to try D000, then D7FF, then DFFF, in order. The LSI Config Utility shows the card address as D000 but offers no way of changing it. Any tips or insights would be appreciated.

    So I've got two apps I want to run on a server. One app I would like to be the "default" app--that is, all URLs should be sent this app by default, except for a certain path, lets call it /foo: http://mydomain.com/ -> app1 http://mydomain.com/apples -> app1 http://mydomain.com/foo -> app2 My two rack apps are installed like so: /var /www /apps /app1 app.rb config.ru /public /app2 app.rb config.ru /public app1 -> apps/app1/public app2 -> apps/app2/public (app1 and app2 are symlinks to their respective apps' public directories). This is the Passenger setup for sub URIs described here: http://www.modrails.com/documentation/Users%20guide%20Nginx.html#deploying_rack_to_sub_uri With the following config I've got /foo going to app2: server { listen 80; server_name mydomain.com; root /var/www; passenger_enabled on; passenger_base_uri /app1; passenger_base_uri /app2; location /foo { rewrite ^.*$ /app2 last; } } Now, how do I get app1 to pick up everything else? I've tried the following (placed after the location /foo directive), but I get a 500 with an infinite internal redirect in error.log: location / { rewrite ^(.*)$ /app1$1 last; } I hoped that the last directive would prevent that infinite redirect, but I guess not. /foo gets the same error. Any ideas? Thanks!

    We have a Windows 2003 server that nginx 1.3.8 is running. Our problem is users with slow connction about 10K . Our server is serving our program update files and when they download from our server the downloade file is incompleted or crrupted. (Users can not download file with DL manager and the problem is in IE ) for example in slow connection a file with 25mb , after 2Mb downloaded finish . in high speed connections there is no problem. Also when we redirect these slow connection to other port F.e 50005 with the same config they download will be much better but not good as other servers.     Hi, My web application is developed with Struts2 and it was working fine till recently. All of a sudden one of the modules has started malfunctioning. The malfunctioning module is 'Update Student details' page. This page has a lot of fields like 'schoolName', 'degreeName', etc . School 1: <input name="schoolName"> School 2: <input name="schoolName"> ..... School n: <input name="schoolName"> As mentioned earlier, the page was working perfectly fine till recently. Now, one/many of the values of 'schoolName', 'degreeName', etc are being received as "" (EMPTY STRING) on the server-side. For debugging, I used firebug and remote-debugging in eclipse. I find that the post-parameters are correct on the client-side. For instance, during one of the submissions the post-parameters were as below (i noted them from firebug). In my development environment, everything works just fine. I am using JQuery/Ajax to update product information based on product's Color attribute. for example, a product has A and B color, the price for color A is different from color B. When user choose different color, the price information is updated as well. But the question is, how do I retrieve the information (i.e. the actual values of "key" and "value" in each of the array positions)?   • Hotfixing Code running inside Web Container with Groovy

    I have a webapp running that has a bug. I know how to fix it in the sources. However I cannot redeploy the app as I would have to take it offline to do so. (At least not right now). I now want to fix the code "at runtime". Surgery on the living object, so to speak. The app is implemented in Java and is build on top of Seam. I have added a Groovy Console to the app previous to the last release. (A way to run arbitrary code at runtime) The normal way of adding behaviour to a class with Groovy would be similar to this: String.metaClass.foo= { x -> x * x } println "anything".foo(3) This code added the method foo to java.lang.String and prints 9. I can do the same thing with classes running inside my webapp container. New instances will thereafter show the same behaviour: com.my.package.SomeService.metaClass.foo= { x -> x * x } def someService = new com.my.package.SomeService() println someService.foo(3) Works as excpected. All good so far. My problem is now that the container, the web framework, Seam in this case, has already instantiated and cached the classes that I would like to manipulate (that is change their behaviour to reflect my bug fix). Ideally this code would work: com.my.package.SomeService.metaClass.foo= { x -> x * x } def x = org.jboss.seam.Component.getInstance(com.my.package.SomeService) println x.foo(3) However the instantiation of SomeService has already happened and there is no effect. Thus I need a way to make my changes "sticky". Has the groovy magic gone after my script has been run? Well, after logging out and in again, I can run this piece of code and get the expected result: def someService = new com.my.package.SomeService() println someService.foo(3) So the foo method is still around and it looks like my change has been permanent... So I guess the question that remains is how to force Seam to re-instantiate all its components and/or how to permanently make the change on all living instances...?

  • What web platform is right for me?

    I've been looking at web frameworks like Rails, Grails, etc. I'm used to doing applications in Spring Framework with Hibernate... and I want something more productive. One of the things I realized is that while some of the things in Grails is sexy, there are some serious problems with it. Grails' controllers: 1) are implemented awfully. They don't seem to be able to extend from super classes at runtime. I tried this to add base actions and helper methods, and this seems to cause grails to blow up. 2) are based on an obsolete request parameters model (rather than form backing objects, which are much nicer). 3) are hard to test. Command objects are treated totally differently... and it's actually MUCH harder to write the test than it is to write the controller code. 4) Command objects operate totally differently. They are pre-validated and bound, which causes a lot of inconsistencies than basic parameter model. 5) Command objects are not reusable, and it's a pain in the rear to reuse most of the stuff from the domain classes, like constraints and fields. This is TRIVIAL to do in basic Spring. Why the hell was it not trivial to do in Grails? 6) The scaffolding that is generated is pure crap. It doesn't generalize inserts and updates... and it actually copy/pastes a pile of code in two views: create.gsp and edit.gsp. The views themselves are gargantuan piles of doggie do-do. This is further compounded by the fact that it uses low-level parameters and not objects. Integration tests are 30x slower than a Spring integration test. It is disgusting. Some mocking tests are so hard to write and aren't guaranteed to work when it's deployed, that I think it discourages fast, tdd test cycles. Most things seem to screw up grails while it's running, like adding a taglib, or anything really. The server restart problem wasn't solved at all. I'm starting to think going with Spring/Hibernate/Java is the only way to go. While there is a pretty big cost at startup, I know it'll eventually smooth out. It sucks I can't use a language like Scala... because idiomatically, it is so incompatible with Hibernate. This app is also not a run-of-the-mill UI over a database. It's got some of that, but it's not going to be a slouch. I am deathly scared of Grails now because of how crap it is in the Controller layer. Suggestions on what I can do?

  • Web Services, Memory Leaks and CRM

    Hi, I have a website that allows users to upload a csv file. This calls a service that reads the information from the csv, puts it into DynamicEntity objects and calls the CRM service to Create/Update entities in CRM. When this service creates/updates an entity this kicks off other plugins to apply certain business rules. These rules can also Create or Update entites in CRM. The issue here is that the handle count of the w3wp.exe process that the website is calling increases every time the an entity is created or updated and it never comes back down. I tried putting Garbage Collection code in the business rules and this reduces the handle count of the CRM w3wp process (run by the Network Service), but not the other w3wp process. Should I have Dispose methods on the Web Service that calls the CRM service? I hope that makes sense. I'm not overly familiar with memory management issues so any help is appreciated. Can anybody give me some tips on how to stop this from occurring? Thanks, Neil -- EDIT Okay well the handle count goes up when I call the Service.Create(DynamicEntity) method. I don't think placing any code here would be beneficial. When I exit the method/class/service that contains this call the handle count stays as it is. What I need to know is whether this is something I should be managing or is it something CRM takes care of (or doesn't take care of but I can't do anything about it) -- Another Edit Right this is how it works. 1) We have CRM and its related services 2) We have another service independent of CRM that uses the CRM services (number 1 above) to create entities based on csv info passed into it 3) We have a website that allows a user to upload a csv, and calls service no 2 above to Create/Update entities in CRM 4) We have plugins fired by CRM which use Service 1 above to create/update entities So the user uploads a csv to the website (3), this fires a service(2). When service 2 creates an entity using service 1, Service 4 fires. Service 4 calls also uses service 1 to Create entities, and when these services are called (using the Service.Create() method) the handle count of the process increases. When the method/class/services finish the handle count remains the same, and so when the whole process occurs again the handle count will increased again.

  • Redirecting users in JSP from within a includes - java syntax error

    Hey everyone, So my setup for my web application is that I have a general header and footer and then I just include them in all my other pages so that all the common elements for all the pages are in a single page. The only problem I'm running into is when I want to redirect the user back to a login page if the "username" session has not already been created. The problem that I"m running into is that I have an if statement at the top of my header.jsp and then I have the else in the footer.jsp and it is giving me a java syntax error. Any ideas?     Hello, I'm trying to return the last 7 days of data from an xml web service but with no luck. Could someone please explain me to how I would accomplish this? From my understanding, we need to add the following into the web.config file <system.web> <identity impersonate="true" /> </system.web> Also, we need to ensure that the server Jack11 can ping to the domain Watson.org. What other setting do we need to setup in order for a user of domain Watson.org (e.g. the user Watson\User1 to access the application in the Server IIS? This is because currently, there is a problem as follows: Exception Details: System.Data.SqlClient.SqlException: Login failed for user 'WATSON\User1'. The error message was displayed when the user User1 wish to access one of the web application in server Jack11 IIS and that web application also do some retrieval of records from the database, which is installed in SQL Server 2008 Enterprise located in the same server Jack11.

  • Spring MVC working with Web Designers

    When working with web-designers in a Spring-MVC and JSP environment, are there any tools or helpful patterns to reduce the pain of going back and forth from HTML to JSP and back? Project requirements dictate that views will change often, and it can be difficult to make changes efficiently because of the amount of Java code that leaks into the view layer. Ideally I'd like to remove almost all Java code from the view, but it does not seem like this works with the Spring/JSP philosophy where often the way to remove Java code is to replace that code with tag libraries, which will still have a similar problem.   • Why do WCF clients depend on the app.config file?

    Like a lot of things, I'm sure there's a good reason for this, so please help me understand... Why, by default, do WCF services store settings in app.config? This has been so frustrating trying to work with multiple Silverlight class libraries. These class libraries are supposed to be completely independent from each other, and this dependency on the app.config seems to cause the following headaches: Single Responsibility Principle - I should be able to add a reference to a class library and go. If that class library uses a service reference, this idea is shot before I even start coding against it. Muddy Configuration - To get other libraries to work, I have to copy and paste the service configurations into the "main" application configs. If an endpoint changes in any way, I can't just worry about a new version of that class DLL - I have to worry about anything that uses it, too. Complex Alternatives - Programmatically creating the endpoint isn't pretty. Period. There has to be a better way. Why doesn't WCF at least separate the service configurations into a ServiceName.config or something that gets copied to an output directory. What am I missing? How do you deal with this?
