  • Firewall is blocking internet traffic to OpenVPN clients

    I have a virtual network setup with a Linux router/firewall connected to two private networks. An OpenVPN server in routing mode and a web server are in one of the networks. On the other are linux client machines which access the webserver and the Internet through the OpenVPN server. Also, external clients can access the OpenVPN from the Internet. The OpenVPN's server.conf is setup to use routing mode in udp, push DNS and routes to the network it is in so clients can access the webserver. Here are my very strict firewall rules. After connecting to the OpenVPN server, my clients can not access the Internet or the web server. When I allow FORWARD traffic to go through, it works just fine. The OpenVPN server has full internet connectivity. What firewall rule do I need to add to allow internet traffic to reach my clients?

Basically, I am trying to setup a key server for an internal application. So short of implementing my own, does anyone have any suggestions?

  • Multi Player game using Nodejs and Socket IO

    I am trying out multi player racing game using Node and Socket IO ,express . So I have tried simple example to see the latency between node server and the clients. I have a draggable image in client . when I move the image ienter code heren one client ,it has to move in all clients. so basically when I am moving the image I am sending the image position to the node server in a json format , then from there I am broadcasting to all clients. there is a ~approx 300ms latency from the time. following are the results. Client 1 sending data to server at : 286136 (timestamp) Server received at : 286271 Client2 received data at : 286470 Client3 received data at : 286479 Client4 received data at : 286487 Client5 received data at : 286520 the latency between move from client1 to client5 is 384ms. its too hight for a racing game .. here is my server code. var app = require('express').createServer(); var io = require('socket.io'); var http = require('http'); var http_server = http.createServer(); var server = http.createServer(app); server.listen(3000); var socket = io.listen(server,{ log: false }); socket.sockets.on('connection', function (client) { client.on('message', function (data){ console.log("data arrived to server",new Date().getTime()); // Below both statements are giving same latency between the client 1 and client 5 client.broadcast.emit('message',data); //socket.sockets.emit('message',data); }); }); 1) Is there any way to optimize the server code to reduce the latency? 2) is this expected latency using node and websockets ? 3) is socket io can't broadcast the data asynchronously (I mean at a same time) ? Gamekit seems to drop out, since those old ipod-touch-devices don't have bluetooth-support.   • ASP.NET ~ remotely invoking an ASP.NET page

    I have two servers running IIS, say, Server-A and Server-B. Server-A is in the DMZ, visible to all users; Server-B is not in the DMZ. I need to provide a way for users to invoke a page on Server-A which will in turn remotely request a page on Server-B, transparently to the user. In other words, Server-A needs to do this on behalf of the user because the user does not have visibility to Server-B. Is this possible and if so, what is the best method to do this?

    Using Oracle 10g. ( 10.2.0.4 ) Possibly by looking at either logs or system tables is there a way to determine which version of the oracle client each connection is using. Our systems initially had 8.1.7 Clients, and then 9.X clients. We attempted to manually locate all machines that had older clients and upgrade them to to 10.2 Clients. We are seeking a method to audit (from the server) if we were successful in upgrading all of our client machines.

  • Get information from a higher class?

    I don't know really how to word the question so please bear with me... I have 3 classes: Server, Database, and Table. Each class has a "Name" property. How I want it to work is that each server can have multiple databases and each database can have multiple tables. So in the Server class I have this property. Private _databases As List(Of Database) Public Property Databases() As List(Of Database) Get Return _databases End Get Set(ByVal value As List(Of Database)) _databases = value End Set End Property And I have something similar in the Database class for the tables. This works fine now because I can do something like this to get all the databases in the server. For Each db In s.Databases 's being the server object Debug.Print(db.Name) Next I would like to expand these classes. I want the server class to handle all the connection information and I would like the other classes to use the server class's connection information in them. For example, I setup a server class and set the connection string to the server. Then I want the database class to use serverclass.connectionstring property to connect to the server and get a list of all the databases. But I want to keep that code in the database class. How can I do this? I've attached some code of what I want to do. I use like this: Dim s As New Server s.Name = "Test" s.LoadTables() The problem is in the LoadTables in the Server class. When it hits Databases.Add(db) it gives me a NullReference error (Object reference not set). I don't understand how it is getting that, all the objects are set. Any ideas? Thanks.

This would be easier from Project to Drupal (since there is user_save and user_delete functions available globally by using drupal bootstrap) but I'm not sure if we can execute PHP functions on an ASP platform.   • Flex 4: use google APIs in RIA without server side code?

    Just to confirm what I think I understand from reading about use of google APIs in RIAs (FLEX 4 and ActionScript) there is no way to connect to blogger API for example, directly from RIA because of google's crossdomain.xml file, right? So if I want to use their APIs to get some data like content of my mailbox or list of posts on my blog I have to have some code running server side and RIA would just use that code as httpservice to collect data from google? Or maybe I got it completly wrong?

  • Hot to implement grails server-side-triggered dialog, or how to break out of update region after AJA

    In grails, I use the mechanism below in order to implement what I'd call a conditional server-side-triggered dialog: When a form is submitted, data must first be processed by a controller. Based on the outcome, there must either be a) a modal Yes/No confirmation in front of the "old" screen or b) a redirect to a new controller/view replacing the "old" screen (no confirmation required). So here's my current approach: In the originating view, I have a <g:formRemote name="requestForm" url="[controller:'test', action:'testRequest']", update:"dummyRegion"> and a <span id="dummyRegion"> which is hidden by CSS When submitting the form, the test controller checks if a confirmation is necessary and if so, renders a template with a yui-based dialog including Yes No buttons in front of the old screen (which works fine because the dialog "comes from" the dummyRegion, not overwriting the page). When Yes is pressed, the right other controller & action is called and the old screen is replaced, if No is pressed, the dialog is cancelled and the "old" screen is shown again without the dialog. Works well until here. When submitting the form and test controller sees that NO confirmation is necessary, I would usually directly redirect to the right other controller & action. But the problem is that the corresponding view of that controller does not appear because it is rendered in the invisble dummyRegion as well. So I currently use a GSP template including a javascript redirect which I render instead. However a javascript redirect is often not allowed by the browser and I think it's not a clean solution. So (finally ;-) my question is: How do I get a controller redirect to cause the corresponding view to "break out" of my AJAX dummyRegion, replacing the whole screen again? Or: Do you have a better approach for what I have in mind? But please note that I cannot check on the client side whether the confirmation is necessary, there needs to be a server call! Also I'd like to avoid that the whole page has to be refreshed just for the confirmation dialog to pop up (which would also be possible without AJAX). Thanks for any hints!
