• SQL select statement - returning records starting with variable length string

  I am using an alphabetical sorting feature and need a SQL statement to return records beginning with a variable length string. However, records also need to be returned if there are periods, spaces, or dashes between any of the characters in the string. For example, the string could be "M" (easy). Or "MA" (in which case it needs to return records starting with "MA", "M.A", "M A", and "M-A"). Or "MAA", and so on. This is the statement I have so far: "SELECT * from table where LEFT(name," + value.Length + ")='" + value + "'" But I can't work out how to get it to return results where there are periods, spaces or dashes in name. Any help constructing the statement would be great.

• javascript function call automatically on page onload instead on onclick

  I am facing a very strange problem. I have javascript function in my aspx page that i call on the onclick event.but on one particular machine it always automatically called on body onload in infinite loop. Though I already remove all the caching and delte the history and temp files. This seems very strange to me .It works fine on all the machine excpt one. The machine have windows 7 and IE verison 8.0.7600.16385 Can some one please help me. Thanks in advance.

• Using True and False to select items to print

  I have a workbook that contains rows of information that needs to printed to a seperate worksheet in excel. I am trying to utilize a checkbox to indicate which items need to print and which items need to be skipped. The checkbox is located in column "A" and once checked and the macro ran, I want it to pick up the data in each cell of that particular row, transfer it a seperate worksheet (form), prompt and save the worksheet to pdf, clear the form, and then return to the main worksheet to continue until all rows have been checked. However, right now, my code is only looping through the very first "TRUE" statement and not continuing to the rest. • Call a JavaScript function in a Google Chrome window from a vb.net program

  I am having a real problem with this. I want to know if it is possible to run/call a javascript function in a Google Chrome web browser window from a VB.net application. The scenario is that i want to monitor the pc activity (which i know how to) and then if a certain event is met (for example, high ram usage) then it calls a JavaScript function in a Google Chrome web browser window so the website is updated. Sort of like a bridge. The only bit it need to know is the vb.net code for how to access a chrome window and invoke a javascript function if its possible. I assume i will need to use process handlers? Any help is appreciated.

• Getting a NullReferenceException Error when invoking a Select File Dialog Box

  Hey everyone This is a real newbie question. I have simple app that selects a picture and display's that picture in a PictureBox. I decided to mess with the Opacity Attribute so I added a timer and created this cool effect where the Main Form's Opacity is increased by 20% every 400 miliseconds. The problem is that now when I click the button that invokes the Select File Dialog Box I'm getting a NullReferenceException error. private void tmrClock_Tick(object sender, EventArgs e) { if (ViewerForm.ActiveForm.Opacity != 1) { ActiveForm.Opacity = ActiveForm.Opacity + .20; } } The error message is pointing to the if statement. • Identifying a function call in a python script line in runtime

  I have a python script that I run with 'exec'. The script's string has calls to functions. When a function is called, I would like it to know the line number and offset in line for that call in the script (in the string I fed exec with). Here is an example. If my script is: foo1(); foo2(); foo1() foo3() And if I have code that prints (line,offset) in every function, I should get (0,0), (0,8), (0,16), (1,0) In most cases this can be easily done by getting the stack frame, because it contains the line number and the function name. The only problem is when there are two functions with the same name in a certain line. Unfortunately this is a common case for me. Any ideas?

  I have a problem with calling soap service from php page. I was implemented two page,first page was created in php, and second page was created in asp.net. In asp.net application I have SOAP service, which methods should be called from php. Options would look something like this: Income Auto Fuel Maintenance Home Maintenance Mortgage In this example, Income is not a group, but Auto and Home are. I see three helper methods grouped_options_for_select and grouped_collection_select, option_groups_from_collection_for_select. Is there a way to use a helper to do this or will I have to generate the HTML myself? I imagine I could use two different helpers to create the options and just append the results of both.

This is done to simulate a fantasy draft for a basketball game I'm working on.   I have created a dll in C++ using a Class Library project in Visual Studio. I need to call a method in the dll from a C# application. I got to know there are 2 approches. One is to add the dll project reference to C# project or use DllExport to export method. However when I tried in both ways it always gives the following error when the dll method is called in runtime. An unhandled exception of type 'System.BadImageFormatException' occurred in TestClient.exe Additional information: An attempt was made to load a program with an incorrect format.   I have a bunch of records I want to move to another database and I just want to create a bunch of inserts that I can copy and paste. I've seen someone do this before but I can't figure it out. I'm not getting the escapes right. It's something like this where 'Code', 'Description' and 'Absent' are the columns I want from the table. I know that there are the SUBSCRIBE and NOTIFY commands but I have found no event package for signaling incoming calls. Background: for a SIP-capable telephony system, I would like to provide an application that displays information about the caller (e.g. name, address, contracts, etc.) when the phone rings.
