  • What facets have I missed for creating a 3 person guerilla dev team?

    - by Penguinix
Sorry for the Windows developers out there, this solution is for Macs only. This set of applications accounts for: Usability Testing, Screen Capture (Video and Still), Version Control, Task Lists, Bug Tracking, a Developer IDE, a Web Server, A Blog, Shared Doc Editing on the Web, Team and individual Chat, Email, Databases and Continuous Integration. This does assume your team members provide their own machines, and one person has a spare old computer to be the Source Repository and Web Server. All for under $200 bucks. Usability Silverback Licenses = 3 x $49.95 "Spontaneous, unobtrusive usability testing software for designers and developers." • ASP.NET 4.0 hosting

    - by Paul
We have built an application on the ASP.NET 4.0 platform. We need to go live in the next two weeks and I want to find a host that will offer the RTM of .NET 4.0. Any ideas of any hosts that have plans to offer the newest version shortly after Monday's launch? I see a bunch with RC1 hosting, but I can't find any hard dates for offering the RTM.

  • Out of memory exception - Windows service stop

    - by user171523
I have a timer within my Windows service which is built using C# 2.0. We are in the process of designing the Exception handling. Since it is Timer runs on its own thread we would like to handle the out of memory exception. When that occurs we would like to stop the service. How can we gently stop the service when that happens on the different thread ?

  • Does anyone know if WordPress has builtin PHP validation functions?

    - by racl101
Hi everyone, I am trying to build a form in WordPress and taking advantage of all its built-in functions but I am hard pressed to find any functions that do form validation. I figure those kinds of functions have to exist in WordPress but I couldn't find any because its documentation is sparse and spread out in some respects. Would anyone have any useful links to documentation and tutorials by any chance?

  • ASP.NET user database without web.config connection strings

    - by vikp
Hi, I'm wondering whether it's possible to use built in ASP.NET application services (aspnet_user, aspnet_role etc table) without specifying a connection string in a web.config. At the moment I store connection strings externally, but I keep finding hard-coded connection strings all over the web.config xml, various providers etc. It's driving me crazy. Thank you

  • Winelib & XCode

    - by Chris Becke
Does anyone have any experience and/or tips wrt using Xcode to build winlib binaries on the Mac? As part of a Windows - Mac OS X crossplatform port i'm looking at an initial winelib port of the app before reworking the windowing to use Cocoa. None of the winelib tutorials ive seen so far mention anything other than command line builds using make files and winegcc, so Im wondering if its worth bothering at all trying to get an Xcode project built linking against winelib.

  • How can I merge properties of two JavaScript objects dynamically?

    - by JC Grubbs
I need to be able to merge two (very simple) JavaScript objects at runtime. For example I'd like to: var obj1 = { food: 'pizza', car: 'ford' } var obj2 = { animal: 'dog' } obj1.merge(obj2); //obj1 now has three properties: food, car, and animal Does anyone have a script for this or know of a built in way to do this? I do not need recursion, and I do not need to merge functions, just methods on flat objects.

  • Automatic clicking on Link build with Javascript by using watin

    - by BEC Roland
I am trying to be able to automate the process of clicking on links built in javascript using watin. In the source code of web page, the links look like href="#", so i think these links works with Javascript. Runscript doesn't work with a Javascript code like "link.click". When i use a "link.flash()" i can see the link flash so i'm sure the script click on the links but there is not effect ( and the script doens't crash ) . Have you any ideas for resolve this problem ?

  • Returning content directly from memcache - Django / HTTP Server

    - by RadiantHex
Hi folks, I've built a web application with Django, I'm using Memcached in order to cache data. A few views cache the whole HttpResponse objects, therefore there might be a better alternative for returning the Memcached data other than going through Django. What could be faster alternatives for returning Memcached data on HTTP Requests ? I'm trying to make the operation as fast and lightweight as possible. Help would be much appreciated! :)

  • Localized License Agreements in Visual Studio Setup Projects?

    - by byanity
I've added a EULA using VS2005's built in License Agreement UI form in a Setup Project. This form has a LicenseFile property that you set to an RTF file that displays the EULA. Assuming I have a number of translated RTFs, how can I make the EULA that is displayed point to the appropriate RTF localized to the user's Windows CurrentCulture settings? I've seen some articles on WiX but at this point I need to stick with our current installation setup. Thanks!

    1) Is there any built-in which can tell me if a variable's contents contain only uppercase letters? 2) is there any way to see if a variable contains a string? For example, I'd like to see if the variable %PATH% contains Ruby.

  • Multi Process Configuration

    - by user200937
Hi, I have a product built out of multiple processes. Each process uses internally commons configuration. Does anyone have an idea how to manage the config? I.e. we do not want to duplicate variables so each process will be able to read them. Additionally, DB solution is no good, as we do not want to be dependent on DB for something like configuration. Thanks Yair
