    How can one edit unity bar default apps within a livecd? In other words if you boot ubuntu 12.04 livecd you will see in the unity bar, firefox, libreoffice, Ubuntu software center, etc. Well I need to customize a 12.04 livecd so that upon boot you will see my own selected apps ie: chromium, ubuntu-tweak, etc. Please dont link me to remastersys or myunity or ubuntu-tweak or ccsm. No graphical applications to be used. The iso is being built via chroot meaning i need the actual file(s) location: /usr/share/unity-2d.....something along those lines.

    i have a site that has 3 web applications, lets use this example: example.com/nicy example.com/mash example.com/zoken The main application is nicy, so if the user comes for the first time (or if Google indexes my site) that will be the default choice. This is the code placed inside example.com/index.php <? header('HTTP/1.1 301 Moved Permanently'); header('Location: http://example.com/nicy'); die(); ?> Is this solution SEO friendly for Google to index the nicy subdirectory as the main entrance page for the domain?   • Display subclass data in XCode Expression window

    I'm debugging an iPhone application I've written using XCode 3.2 and I cannot view the relevant public properties of an object I pull from Core Data. When I watch the object in the Expressions window it only displays the data from the base NSManagedObject. I'd like to see the properties that are on the subclass, not the superclass. If it helps, here's some of the code I'm using. Settings is a subclass of NSManagedObject. I created it using XCode's built-in modeler. Declared like: @interface Settings : NSManagedObject { } @property (nonatomic, retain) NSNumber * hasNews; @property (nonatomic, retain) NSString * logoUrl; @property (nonatomic, retain) NSNumber * hasPaymentGateway; @property (nonatomic, retain) NSString * customerCode; ... In the interface of my controller I have: Settings *settings; I populate settings with: settings = (Settings *)[NSEntityDescription insertNewObjectForEntityForName:@"Settings" inManagedObjectContext:UIAppManagedObjectContext()]; I then set the properties like: settings.hasNews = [NSNumber numberWithBool:TRUE]; I've tried casting settings as (Settings *) in the Expression window but that doesn't help. All I see are the properties to NSManagedObject. I'm using NSLog but would rather not.

  • Good maintained privacy Add-On/settings set that takes usability into account?

    For some weeks I've been trying to find a good set of Firefox Addons that give me a good portion of privacy/security without losing to much of usability. But I can't seem to find a nice combination of add-ons/settings that I'm happy with. Here's what I tried, together with the pros and cons that I discovered: HTTPS Everywhere: Has only pro's: just install and be happy (no interaction needed), loads known pages SLL-encrypted, is updated fairly often NoScript - Fine, but needs a lot of fine-tuning, often maintained, mainly blocks all non-HTML/CSS Content, but the author sometimes seems to do "untrustworthy" decission RequestPolicy - seems dead (last activity 6 months ago, has some annoying bugs, official support mail address is dead), but the purpose of this is really great: gives you full control over cross-site requests: blocks by default, let's you add sites to a whitelist, once this is done it works interaction-less in the background AdBlock Edge: blocks specific cross-site requests from a pre-defined whitelist (can never be fully sure, need to trust others) Disconnect: like AdBlock Edge, just looking different, has no interaction possibilities (can never be fully sure, need to trust others, can not interact even if I wanted to) Firefox own Cookie Managment (block by default, whitelist specific sites), after building own whitelist it does it's work in the background and I have full control All These addons together basically block everything unsecure. But there are a lot of redundancies: NoScript has a mixed-content blocker, but FF has it's own for a while now. Also the Cookie blocker from NoScript is reduntant to my FF-Cookie setting. NoScript also has an XSS-blocker, which is redundant to RequestPolicy. Disconnect and AdBlock are extremly redundant, but not fully. And there are some bugs (especially RequestPolicy). And RequestPolicy seems to be dead. All in all, this list is great but has these heavy drawbacks. My favourite set would be "NoScript Light" (only script blocking, without all the additonal redundant-to-other-addons hick-hack it does) + HTTPS Everywhere + RequestPolicy-clone (maintained, less buggy), because RequestPolicy makes all other "site-blockers" obsolete (because it blocks everything by default and let's me create a whitelist). But since RequestPolicy is buggy and seems to be dead I have to fallback to AdBlock Edge and Disconnect, which don't block all and and need more maintaining (whitelist updates, trust-check). Are there addons that fulfill my wishes?

  • Need help with some IIS7 web.config compression settings.

    Hi folks, I'm trying to configure my IIS7 compression settings in my web.config file. I'm trying to enable HTTP 1.0 requests to be gzip. MSDN has all the info about it here. Is it possible to have this config info in my own website's web.config file? Or do i need to set it at an application level? Currently, I have that code in my web.config... <system.webServer> <urlCompression doDynamicCompression="true" dynamicCompressionBeforeCache="true" /> <httpCompression cacheControlHeader="max-age=86400" noCompressionForHttp10="False" noCompressionForProxies="False" sendCacheHeaders="true" /> ... other stuff snipped ... </system.webServer> It's not working :( HTTP 1.1 requests are getting compressed, just not 1.0. That MSDN page above says that it can be used in :- Machine.config ApplicationHost.config Root application Web.config Application Web.config Directory Web.config So, can we set these settings on a per-website-basis, programatically in a web.config file? (this is an Application Web.config file...) What have i done wrong? cheers :) EDIT: I was asked how i know HTTP1.0 is not getting compressed.   • Spark View Engine: How to set default master page name?

    I use Spark View Engine with nested master pages. I have Application.spark which defines the basic layout of the website. Then there are several other masters which themselves use Application.spark as master page (Default.spark, SinlgeColumn.spark, Gallery.spark, ...) If no master page is specified in a view file, then automatically Application.spark is choosen by the Spark View Engine. Since almost all my pages use "Default.spark" as master, is there a way to configure this globally? The other possibilities would be: Set the master in each spark file individually <use master="Default" />. But that's really annoying. Rename my master files (Default.spark <- Application.spark) but that really doesn't make any sense in naming.

    When I open the help (.chm) application, I could see table of contents. By default, the first entry in the file is selected, however I couldn't see the corresponding page data. Instead, I see "This program cannot display the web page" (the default error message that comes in IE7).The page is displayed only when I click on any of the contents on the left side. I've tried to achieve this by modifying wp_enqueue_style in different ways, but without any success. I've tried: wp_enqueue_style('my_styles_css', array('default','user')); or wp_enqueue_style('my_styles_css', false, array('default','user'), '1.0', 'all'); I've seen some related questions without answer or with these last 2 methods that are still failing for me.     I created a custom field for a content type I am creating using the XML below. <field ID="{GUID}" Required="False" DisplayName="Likes" Name="Likes" Type="Number" SourceID="http://schemas.microsoft.com/sharepoint/v3"><default>0</default></field> The field is meant to be used as a counter of sorts, and will be incremented programmatically. But, I can't get the value to default to "0" when a new item is created. However, for some reason, when I create a new column manually using the Site Collection settings page and configure it to default to "0" it works as it should. So far, I've tried the following tactics: I removed the "default" element from the field definition, and set the "DefaultValue" attribute on the content type definition. I exported a definition for the manually-created, working column (using an Imtech STSADM tool). Then, I added it to my field definitions XML and modified the IDs so that I could add it to my content type. When I did this, it still didn't work, even though it was exported from a working column! Any idea why this isn't working for me?

I would like to add a datetime column to a table and have all the values set to anything (perhaps 1970 or year 2000) but it seems like i cant use not null without a default and i cant remove a default once added in. So how can i add this column? (once again just a plain datetime not null)

  • Nginx settings are screwing up my Drupal form submissions, how do I fix?

    How do I tell Nginx to "ignore" specific URLS or pages on my web site? I run a Drupal site where anonymous visitors get served via NGINX while logged in users get served via Apache. We do this to keep the load down and scale better. It works great, except, since we set up nginx, a good number of Drupal forms no longer work. For example, before installing Nginx, if you created a new article, then clicked "edit" and edited the article. You could click "save" and your changes to the article would be saved. After setting up nginx, when you make edits and then click "save," the page simple refreshes, but now with "nginx-index.php" inserted into the URL. And your changes to the form were not actually saved to the database. So if you go to edit an article, you'll be on domain.com/node/##/edit or something like that. When you try to save your changes to the form, you'll wind up at domain.com/nginx-index.php?q=node/##/edit. And your changes will not be saved. There is a way around this, but only for administrative users. If you go to a form where this problem is happening, then comment or comment-out three lines in our settings.php file, the form will save properly. Those three lines are: // 'cache_form' = array( // 'engine' = 'db', // ), If they're commented, you uncomment them, them save the form. If they're uncommented, you comment them out and save the form. Obviously, this sucks. My friend who set up our server (and then left the country) told me that there are some Nginx settings that can tell it to "ignore" certain URLs or pages which could work here. How do I do this and where do I do it?

Relative is to be set by a PHP's strtotime argument. However, it fails when I set it to 31 May 2011 last day of May 2011 (that should normally work according to http://php.net/manual/en/function.strtotime.php) Do You have any idea how to set it to default to 31 May 2011?

  • Xcode puts Default.png in my plist as an Icon file when I assign a Launch Image

    When I set a Launch Image, Xcode creates a copy as Default.png and creates an entry in my plist in Icon Files (IOS 5) / Primary Icon / Icon Items -- Item 1 : Default.png Item 0 : MyIcon.png is the app icon which I have already placed through the Target. The reason this is a problem is that the launch image then takes precedence over the actual icon and as a result, it shows as the primary icon instead of my actual icon image. Why is Xcode doing this? Can I safely delete the Default.png entry from my .plist? (this seems to fix the problem) Do I need to copy Default.png somewhere else? Thanks!
